DCL copping a lot of heat but an awful lot more people have Flekken, for me that’s been the most nonsensical popular pick on the year… BuT tHe SaVe PoInTs

He’s 4.5 though. Fair play to those who went Sels or bought Pickford after his drops but Flekken isn’t doing much worse than the equivalents.

Plenty of 6m strikers scoring well.

Exactly lol not like there is a standout keeper. Besides, Flekken was a cheaper alternative with good fixtures to Raya… who hasn’t kept a clean sheet since GW4.

He could quite easily chip in with a return against any team.

Certainly a hold if you own him

I went for Wissa as Brentford are a goal fest recently and I wanted to double up with Mbeumo so it probably just comes down to how you feel about each teams attack moving forward

    Raya
Gabriel - Ait Nouri - Lewis
    Mbuemo - Son - Palmer - Rogers
    DCL - Haaland - Solanke

Ricicle. I like you man. A good guy on here for sure.

But...Its Haaland. Versus Bournemouth. 8 hatricks in 69 EPL games. There's def a 6 goals in 3/4 games streak right there and will happen.

Haha thanks man right back at ya! I know but without KDB and the addition of Rodri, I just can’t take that price tag and only worth owning if calling every game, and I wanna start capping other players hehe. 3 of his next 4 are away, Cunha has 3 home games in next 4, and it seems if to make any major headway this season, risks need to be taken, or condense all those risks down to one big risk in going no Haaland.

I’m not set in stone, but it’s likely I’m gonna take the plunge.

    Saka and Jackson out for...
    A) Salah and Wissa
    B) Palmer and Cunha (+1.1mil itb)

Can get Saka back in for Foden in a few weeks in option B. Would take another move with option A.
If I go for Palmer I could just bring him straight in for Foden instead of losing Saka for a few weeks.

Seems we have a similar dilemma.

I was on a Saka Haaland Foden threemium. Had planned a Saka-Son-Saka 3-game hokey-cokey, then Foden to Palmer.

But ofc Son injury meant Saka to Palmer move.

Now deciding whether I do Foden to Saka or Salah in GW12.

Indeed mate, it may feel a bit drastic but I’m now 2.1m from 2.8m this GW, and something has to be taken.
No Haaland is scary, but each time I just look at that price tag of his and the no Rodri/KDB effect it’s having on him, I just need to step off him and start considering other captain choices.

Your team above looks stellar without him!

          Mine would be:

          Raya
          RAN - Gabriel - Lewis
          Mbeumo - Salah - Son - Palmer
          Cunha - Solanke - DCL

Yeah I’m 2.5 from 2.9 million mate just going nowhere atm, it’s does feel drastic but high risk high reward I have a mate in a mine league who hasn’t had him all season he was 4 million 5 gameweeks ago and he’s now 300k as of tonight
It’s means we can have freedom with captain decisions too rather than feel obligated to captain Haaland every week I’m quite exited by it actually!!

Ah thanks mate, the midfield looks really tasty I must admit!!

Yep we are extremely similar then if not the same when it comes to where we are and how we’re performing.
I’m not worried about rank at this stage, but the longer it continues then obvious the worse it gets. The leader of my main ML is also Haaland’less, and is a good 60 points ahead now.
If none of the chela forwards were performing, we’d feel much safer with Haaland, but a whole plethora of them are doing brilliantly! So much variance and choice, it makes going without Haaland all the more reasonable, especially if it affords such an immense midfield.

Freedom with captaincy choices is also a hell of a lot more fun rather than feel obligated like you say to cap Robot week in week out.

Of course these are the pro’s of no haaland, there are also cons of course, but there are more advantages than disadvantages to going without now imo.

DCL is sooooo gone after SOU, even if he scored 10!

I’d waffled here haha! But hopefully all makes sense.

Definitely seems so mate!! I think we could easily set ourselves a target to be in top 1 million by December and top 500k at Xmas and work from there, that’s my main target now,
Same in my big cash money mini leagues mate I think the top 5 in both of them don’t have Haaland they have soared away this past 4 weeks, have left me so much ground to make up going to be a long hard slog, was in top 2/3 in both up until gameweek 4 and it’s just fallen apart since then!! Time to take action!!! Haha

There’s is mate absolutely but if you look at fixtures for Salah, Saka and Palmer and even Mbeumo there are really good fixtures which make me feel really quite comfortable about not owning him like I say I’m actually quite exited!! Roll on next week already haha

                Yeah he will be for
Me mate but actually I don’t need him so could just keep him as first sub every week for a few weeks and try roll some transfers now, so that’s maybe my best plan!!

Haha all made sense mate!! I like a good waffle!! I’m exactly the same!! Haha

                  • 3 Years

That’s certainly a realistic aim to have in rank by December.
Same story here, since around GW5 I was 500k, and have plummeted since.

It is time to take action. Now of course Haaland’s dry spell could be over and he could very well go on to score well now, but I’m more than willing to bet against that, especially with 3 of his next 4 away, no KDB/Rodri, and other cheap strikers performing just as well the odds are in our favour.
I’m comfortable not owning either, if anything it takes the pressure off knowing you can have more options for captain than over relying on Haaland all the damn time.

For the next few GW’s I won’t be racking up too many FT’s, I’ll be using each one per week and even a bit for next GW, but the sooner it’s set up the better haha!

Yep it could be and we know what he can do, not as reliable away from home and defo missing KDB and Rodri so with 3 of the next 4 away and the home game against a stubborn forest defence this the more I think about it seems a logical time!!!

I hope we get our rewards mate!!! Haha

I didn’t TC him because his form is just so bad right now, in the league anyway. I just don’t wanna rely on him for captaincy every week when even the cheap forwards are outscoring him. No KDB or Rodri, even Pep can’t patch that over

Selling makes 100% sense when you can do Salah and Cunha for Haaland and a 5m mid. And yes, 2.3xG against Southampton? Look at Haalands next run of fixtures.

Scoring every game believe it or not, still isn't enough for a 15m player especially when other players are getting more points than him. He needs to be outscoring players significantly

Did anyone see Cunha’s goal today?

Very lucky to have gone in.

I had planned to get him in GW9 a few weeks back, but he has been so so poor lately. Strand Larsen genuinely looks the better pick.

I like both Wolves fwds. Especially with this run. Raul swayed it for me on price this GW but Wood will become Cunha shortly and not SL.

The harder your work, the better you are and the luckier you get.

Strongly considering having two Wolves attackers in my team from next week - Cunha & Strand Larsen.
    It’d be replacing Havertz.

If Son doesn't appear then I'll have 21 points from 4x attacking auto-subs this season which is decent. It's handy having 8 viable attackers to choose from as well as being able to target/avoid fixtures.

Agreed, if budget allows, and it certainly would workout Haaland, then there’a always substance in having these good bench headaches. Sometimes choice is much better than over reliance.

Majorly regretting going for Solanke over Cunha this week. It was Cunha all the way and I swerved last minute. I know Solanke hasn't kicked a ball yet but I wish I had Cunha going forward

      Confirmation bias ?

      1. Sir Michael Taker
        • 11 Years
        1 year, 2 months ago

I'd say its outcome bias as much as anything. If Wieffer plays in any of his team mates Wolves lose that 3-1 and we're all saying how crap they are which they are still by the way. The fact Cunha's scuffed his shot and its taken a huge deflection of Van Hecke shouldnt be missed either. Probably more of an own goal than Wissa's off the Ipswich lad was.

        1. Hotdogs for Tea
          • 10 Years

If we are trying to get players like Cunha, Wood, Raul, Wissa, Welbeck etc. before they start scoring then there is little bias, just judgement.

I think at times we want a player because they returned the week or two before and will generate reasons to buy the player and the previous outcome is generating our confirmation bias.

Players like Cunha, Wood, Raul, Wissa, Welbeck etc could blank for the next 5 games - they are playing for Wolves, Brighton and Brentford for a reason rather than Newcastle or Spurs.

We are seeing this with arguably better players like Isak, DCL and Solanke, blanking and if any of them start scoring they will be the next cab on the rank and wagon to the leave the station.

I would rather players from teams you mentioned than Newcastle whose attack has been awful and often better than Spurs. Not sure the point

              • 10 Years

The point is that the players I listed are average players that have scored a few goals in the last few games and people will want to buy them.

Better players in clubs that traditionally play attacking football are being overlooked. If those better players form better clubs score a goal or two in next few weeks and Cunha blanks it will be talk of Cuhna to Solanke or DCL.

People will justify whichever player has scored recently, not

if some one stood on it - could be a metatarsal hair line fracture - probably needs an xray.

Is it just me or has Pep had a bunch of inconsistent players recently?
Too early in the season to judge Foden but besides Haaland everyone seems to be in and out of form and favour, not since the Sterling/KDB/Aguero days have players put multiple good seasons together

Gundo,Sane,Jesus,Alvarez,Grealish,Bilva, Foden,Doku,Mahrez a bunch of others and the entire defence seems to have been so hit and miss compared to other teams who have a solid core year after year

    2 FT. 2.5m ITB.

    Flekken
    Gabriel Porro Lewis
    Palmer Saka Mbuemo Rogers
    Haaland Raul DCL
    Fabianski // Semenyo Mykolenko Greaves

Was looking at doing something like:
    Saka/Lewis > Salah/Ait Nouri

But obviously the likes of Flekken, DCL and Semenyo are stinking up the joint. DCL with a good next (three!!) fixture(s) but still been pants.

    Alternatively:
    Haaland/Semenyo > Cunha/Salah
    (GW11: Saka>Johnson / DCL>Solanke)

    What would you do?
