I would look to rid of Johnson, not Rogers.

Besides not rating Johnson and almost any Spurs picks anyway, Rogers price point means he can almost be left as a season keeper/5th midfielder and a strong one at that.

It's live hall of fame. His current rank this season has a big impact on that. Most aren't doing that great this season.
For example Mark Hurst beat him in the last 4 seasons but he's ranked ~2m this season.

    Brighton watchers ...

Would you go for Pedro or Welbeck for free?

And would you opt for either of them ahead of Cunha?

    1. Captain Mal
      • 1 Year
      1 year, 1 month ago

When both are on the pitch, Welbeck is the main striker, but Pedro is on penalties. Hard to tell who gets more minutes, there is some competition up front. I think it's 50/50,so I would go with the cheaper option.

Cunha is a really good player, he's already given me many points, but Wolves haven't looked that great. Still, their fixtures in GWs 15,16 and 17 are hard to resist.

    2. Tommy Template

Brighton are the better attack, will score more goals but due to competition goal share will likely be higher whereas Cunha only really has Strand Larsen and occasionally RAN to share goals and involvement with. I prefer the Brighton assets just about.

It's a fair point, I think that there's quite a bit of rotation risk.

Both Brighton and Wolves have decent fixtures upcoming too.

There's a big price difference as well from Cunha to Brighton forwards which could help to afford Saka in midfield over Bruno for example.

        1. Tommy Template
          • 11 Years

To be honest I'm on a WC and only really want one of them up top so its a choice but for some both are fine options (Cunha and a Brighton striker). I don't think I'd sell Cunha if not on a WC unless it really upgraded something of note.

Probably not worth it ppm wise.
          I'll still get Estupinan though..
I hesitate if Dunk automatically goes straight back in, or if Igor stays for a little bit longer. There was small talk before pre season of Dunk being slowly phased out this year.
As you say, Veltman, or Van Hecke, or GK, is the sensible choice, if you want Brighton at all.

Fantastic player but he permanently tarnished his image for me with the kung-fu kick at the Palace fan. Footballers get a lot of flack from the stands but that is massively overstepping the mark. Testament to how much Ferguson thought of him at the tiime that they didn't fire him. In this day and age with reputational damage with key sponsors and all of that he'd be sacked without question.

unfortunately i dont think that is true re sacking, the better the player the more they can get away with and Cantona was very very good. You only have to look at players like Greenwood who did something far worse than kick a fan and he wasnt sacked as Man utd saw him as an asset, in any other walk of life yes but not in football unfortunately.

What is going on with England? Kane having a not very subtle go at the players pulling out of international duty. Carsley saying Kane is giving his own opinion. Since when did a captain get to give their own opinion that the establishment didn't share? Really messy situation. I don't share Kane's view as a fan either. Nothing to do with FPL here as my club aren't in the top flight but I'd want my players putting club before country every day of the week. This ain't the olympics. International football is not the pinnacle.

It's also the Nations League heading into the busy Christmas run in the Premier League, Europe and domestic cups.

I suppose the Ireland game is of interest.

International football is often tight and a cagey affair. You'd have to be committed to have travelled to Athens this week to watch it live.

For some of the players, playing for your Country is still the pinnacle.
Just my opinion, of course, but I seriously detest international break 'injuries'
It's like; don't lie, just say you are choosing to not play for your Country, instead of this cloak and dagger nonsense.

Kane's vision of the England team is 11 men hobbling around the pitch, stinking the gaff up, like he did at the EUROs. Stop having pointless friendlies in the middle of November, before the famously manic Xmas period, and internationalitis wouldn't be so rife.

    4. JBG
      • 7 Years

I get what Kane means... but these Nations League matches are so fcking unnecessary and only there to bring out more TV revenue for UEFA. The players play more than enough matches for the club(even there it's too much atm). So I 100% understand why players would pull out and rest when they get the chance to.

    5. Funkyav

dont know why we dont just pick u21 players for these pointless internationals, at least then there might be some point in them. FIFA/UEFA just keep adding more games to the calendar and players have to lie to avoid burn out.

What a coincidence? Apparently, the camp ain't excited about Tuchel's arrival & rightly so.

This is where I am on my wildcard draft, I had £2.5m itb but switched Welbeck into Isak so spent all the funds now.

Some are holding positions on price rises. I'm not fully convinced by the Liverpool or Fulham fixtures, take Fulham who only have 2 easier games against Wolves and Southampton up till boxing day. Rogers is an obvious alternative.

What do you think of this squad?

    Onana, Fab.
    Gvardiol, Konaté, Hall, RAN, Bednarek.
    Salah, Palmer, Bruno, Mbeumo, Iwobi.
    Isak, Wissa, Cunha.

Yeah, a bit of an omission with no Saka.

I'd have to lose Bruno and sacrifice elsewhere.

I do quite like Arsenal, I lived on Highbury Hill when I was born and it's my granddad's team.

I'm not convinced by the defence at the moment but will look at Saka, Odegard and Havertz again.

I don't mind going differential and if I roll some transfers can sort it out in a few weeks.

The next 4 fixtures are okay but not that great. They'll probably beat West Ham and Forest but likely concede at home at least.

Tbf Saka and Martenelli are the picks for Arsenal attacking threat.

        Fair points

I just think he's the defender with the main goal threat and I've switched Trent to him so it's a sort of saving.

Happy to roll with Brentford for the next two matches at least, they've got plenty of goals in them and will keep a close eye on it.

Iwobi is in to try to catch a double price rise which may be lucky, then he's likely to be Rogers for the Villa fixtures and to see if they can sort themselves back out.

Cunha may become a Brighton forward by next week too.

        Cheers

Got double Brentford on my wc as well.
Waiting if we get more info on those flags. (Guessing myself not real injuries)
But am open to switching Wissa->Evanilson possibly to spread the risk.

Tbh when the margins are so tight a hit is likely to hurt you in that week.

But you are punting into the Ipswich game but they are showing some strong signs of life.

Depends which Spurs show up in Manchester too.

I'd only have £5.9m so firmly in the budget range.

I'd also have Rogers already so I'd be looking at ESR, Iwobi or Semenyo realistically.

Would you go with the Bournemouth player there or someone else?

        Hope all's well with you.

I like Semenyo, he would be my choice in that range.

The only thing with Fulham is they have tricky fixtures. But this is a player you will probably keep long term, as wasting a transfer to change your cheap midfielder is not optimal, so fixtures aren't a huge deal in my opinion.
Other than that, Fulham are on a roll and Smith Rowe is getting in some good spots, his off the ball movement is great, making runs into the box, linking up with Nelson and Robinson down the left flank, even being on the receiving end of the occasional through ball. And his finishing is much better compared to the likes of Rogers.

I'm not a fan of the Arsenal defence at the moment so Gabriel out!

Maybe for Konate if you are okay with the Liverpool fixtures?

I can see the attraction of Kerkez because he has assists in him. There's also Senesi for goal threat.

      Defence is difficult.

I had Pedro and Wissa couple of weeks back... both got injured almost simultaneously. So fun... because both had good fixtures coming up. But on the bright side, got in Wood.

What are you on about? Wissa was very much fit a couple of weeks ago and for all we know, he still is with all these mystery International break flags.

Pedro only returned from injury last week and isn't on International duty so certainly is fit??

Your message would make sense if we were in GW6.

Me, looking for TAA replacement. One of Hall, Saliba or van Hecke is likely replacement, I have Gabriel and Raya already.

Not sure about Havertz and midfield is stacked so no room for Saka. Something to consider.
