    Mbeumo or Johnson to Salah?

I'd go Johnson if you have the patience to hold Mbeumo through the winter.

27 from 6. Thought I was in deep trouble but then I saw the average was 30, so still had life. After seeing the Knights post, and now yours, think I'm in pretty good shape. With Salah, Bruno and Isak still to come a decent score is possible.

Great. So he is a transfer out then from my FPL team....I am looking to have only nailed players in my FPL team especially during this time of the year when there are so many games happening.....I guess Mitoma or even Eze if he is fit are a good replacement for that price range

36 points on my bench, Cunha away to Fulham, I thought Fulham would smash wolves to be honest and worth owning Raul and Robinson it seemed like a good decision, Van den Berg as a 4m defender was an obvious bench choice and then Porro, goal, cleanie plus bonus, no one saw that coming!!

Hopefully the mystery chip is something to do with previous bench points

  18. Is Haaland a must-sell?
    HurriKane
    • 13 Years

    I refuse to sell Haaland.

I know he's going through a dry spell but he's been extremely unlucky over last 4 gws.

As long as he's getting chances he's too good enough to keep missing them. KDB is on the verge of starting as well

People who swap him for Salah 4 gws ago were the real winners . FPL is all about timing

Thoughts? Am i being too stubborn?

I watched MOTD and it's obvious that the goals are coming for Haaland. So many near misses. 7 shots in the box and 2 big chances today. On another day he could have had a hatrick. He keeps putting up 1 xG per game which is crazy. If his stats had fallen off a cliff, I'd be the first one to say sell, but if you need to chase in any way I'd say keep him.

      1. HurriKane
        • 13 Years

Exactly i feel like the window to sell Haaland has passed

He'll bounce back strongly. No doubt about that. But needs to be more humble

Funfact: Erling Haaland has scored 2 goals from 8.03(xG) in the Premier League since telling Mikel Arteta to stay humble.

I did it this week. The ideal time was after SOU in GW9 for most people but with the team in this bad of a form, and him sucking up all the funds, you have to make the move imo.

      1. HurriKane
        • 13 Years
        1 year, 11 days ago

Well done,i don't think you actually need those funds with TAA out and likes of Cunha and Pedro keeping up with semi premiums of Isak Watkins Jackson etc

In current landscape maybe you get to afford a Bruno over a Semenyo but thats about it.

I agree. I also sold Haaland after Gameweek 9.

I made a big mistake in not starting the season with him, and an even bigger one in not even including him in my disastrous Gameweek 3 Wildcard. But my third big mistake was to sell Salah when I bought Haaland in Gameweek 6, a decision that I had to reverse in Gameweek 10.

Salah outscored Haaland by 35 points to 12 in the four Gameweeks that I owned Haaland instead of Salah (and by 70 points to 24 if I had captained him for these four Gameweeks too), and my team is still suffering from the effects of these mistakes.

Salah is essential. The big question is whether or not it is worth weakening the rest of your team in order to own Haaland as well, either now or at some point later in the season.

I’m kinda the same. Feels like it needed to happen 4-6 weeks ago, and now would be jumping off when it’s arguably almost time to get back on.

Yup. Its so tempting to follow the masses and ship him now but i think he will bounce back strongly.

City also tend to get their rhythm and go on a strong run about this time of the year each season

    4. Hotdogs for Tea
      • 10 Years
      1 year, 11 days ago

The issue is that he is so expensive and for non owners whether spreading the money can cover his points over a season.

Jumping on and off him can also work.

The issue with owning him is more to do with how many points you can get out of the poorer players you are forced to pick, or really what you can get out of cheaper players.

I see Haaland teams and there are maybe 5 or 6 starters that would struggle to make the bench of a non Haaland team.

The decision is less about owning Haaland and more about the other 5 or 6 players you have to compromise on and whether they can return any points.

It’s not my strategy, I have owned Haaland and I have not owned Haaland, same as with Salah. I am not fixed on any strategy except the one for the next few weeks.

Some cheap players make owning a £15 mill player an option, but you need those cheapies to perform when Haaland it outscored by Salah, Saka, Foden, Bruno etc when non Haaland owners are captaining them

That's a great team and great team value. In a similar position I really liked Jackson's chances given the great fixtures and there's Isak and Havertz to potentially transfer to if it went belly up so I made the move. That allowed Semenyo to Salah. Hiding behind a couch for City games though and I definitely think Haaland will fire again. The extra bit of money leftover allows a future gk upgrade for me so that's the difference I guess but you've already got that in the bank.

Think of it this way. Most budget and mid priced forwards (Cunha, Pedro, Isaak, Jackson, Laarsen) are in great form and even delivering big hauls whereas cheap mids are fading away (ESR,Swmenyo,Rogers, Mbeumo). On the flip side Haaland is doing nothing and the premium midfielders are flying and going into great fixtures ( Saka,Salah,Palmer, Bruno). So you either have Haaland and 2-3 cheap mids and a dirt cheap defense or you get a cheap forwards line but easily fit in Saka Salah Bruno Palmer and a decent defense.

Even though I should've done earlier I finaly sold last night as I'm losing too much ground, with my cheap mids not performing or getting their benching wrong

Got 3 FT & prefer my team without him
Haaland/Semenyo/colwill > pedro/Saka/gabriel i think is great update for my team

Can even do ESR > bruno for a hit but then that gives me benching headache with attackers for GW13 & then utd away to Arsenal

Is Bruno a must buy now ? I see he has a great next fixture against Everton, but after that fixtures aren't that great!!

Yeah. That's seems to be a general consensus. I am thinking of watching today's game and take call.

    Is this worth a -8?

    Haaland + Raul + McNeil + Faes -> Cunha + Jackson + Saka (or Fernandez) + Gabriel?

    Would go from..

    Sels
    Konate Lewis Aina Mazraoui FAES
    Salah Palmer Mbeumo Rogers MCNEIL
    Wood HAALAND RAUL

    to

    Sels
    Konate Lewis Aina Mazraoui GABRIEL
Salah Palmer Mbeumo Rogers SAKA (or Fernandez)
    Wood CUNHA JACKSON

    Yeah or no?

Best option to replace Haaland if you already own Cunha and Pedro?

    A) Jackson
    B) Isak

    B) Gusto (AVL H)
Well I guess both will concede but leaning towards Gusto

    I've taken -44 in hits last 4 GW's and risen 600k in rank from 2.2 to 1.6.

    Team:

    Fab Virginia
    Hall Mazraoui Konsa Gabriel Ait-N
    Saka Bruno Palmer Mbeumo Salah
    João Pedro Cunha Jackson

    103.2, 0.4 ITB.

I probably have hurt my rank with some of the moves, I had triple Arsenal then double Everton defence 4 weeks ago then reshaped the whole lot.

I'd do it all again on repeat! (maybe not Konsa in ten days ago when Martinez looked injured, who then subsequently got injured) Annoyingly my final transfer Van Den Berg to Gabriel to keep Ait Nouri firmly on the bench alongside Mbeumo was not necessary!

I wouldn't want no Saka now, Haaland, Watkins, Garnacho, Johnson, Diaz, no Salah and third united slot covered by Martinez.

Future plans will be going back to double Arsenal defence (!) with Raya coming in for Virgina and Mbeumo down to someone like a Semenyo.

When Amad starts and shines today I'm gonna have another -4 decision to make, do I sell Bruno and then upgrade Mbeumo to Son for even more power midfield? Maybe!

And on the upside of thode hits: u got great timevalue (got only 102.8)
No bigger surgery needed (outside of GK)
      And basically ideal forward 8.
We are all facing the Mbeumo decision especially when so heavily invested in price increase.
I think my next move is Bruno to a cheapie gw14 for a 3 week punt on watkins. (ManU vs Villa fixtures being the reason)
Then GW 17 I can see if I possibly want Haaland back for GW18 and use the 3 transfers for that.

I wonder how much the short turnaround will affect that. it was v difficult to ignore Isak this week and then subsequently Watkins as a path, I abandoned that plan the moment I got Gabriel. João Pedro coming back and being class ended that plan.

The games of 13-14-15 are all really close together so nailedness is gonna matter. I'm not sure Isak loses some mins to Wilson and Watkins to Duran over that period. Less so on Isak really.

Got Isak already, so basically would be Evanilson ->Watkins for those 3 weeks.
Got Pedro already and I fear I have missed the Cunha train, so not going there anymore.

After seeing the BRE fixtures after GW13, might be wiser to get rid off Mbeumo, although he served me well...
Probably to Semenyo (now that he serves his yellows off next week)
Where to use the cast is up for debate.

Think many debate this. It could just be because of penalties/form/price changes.
      Tough call though.

      Younger, Faster, Stronger...Cheaper. Penalties.

Erm It is a bit sideways! I suppose Ferguson being fit makes him slightly less nailed over the busy period. I would, pens swings it for me.

Do you have decent coverage for Semenyo?
Wood has a good fixture against ipswich coming as well. After that he might be a sell.
