Back for a new season, with “sailing fan” Granville now woken from his Olympic dream, we return for another podcast after a three-month hiatus.

While some of the regulars are shelved this week, we talk over the Sky Sports Game, welcome new Fantasy Football double act “Fenners & Merse” and start the clear up after Robin Van Persie kicked over the applecart.

The episode is underpinned by a new concept – the idea that Granville and I can join forces and actually be effective. The premise is we pick a ScoutCast XI and cross our beams to co-manage it over the season, arguing the toss in every ScoutCast episode on transfers and substitutions. The aim is harmony and a united success. It seems unlikely to end that way.

Oh, and there are actually two of my “jokes” that Granville misses in this episode – see if you can make out the second. I swear he was dreaming of gold medals in the sailing.

  He pulled himself out of the training camp waiting for a deal to go through. They are heavily linked with liverpool and Stuart downing is supposed to be part of a trade deal but we'll see if that happens

      And I play to put the best 11 players on the pitch. I'd prefer to have some better subs - as the most expensive players aren't always the best players - but if push came to shove: sure.

        Ah true a 4.5 GK should be there.
        
        I just tend to find the real limiting factor of FPL is transfers, and without credible replacements on the bench you find yourself permanently short of transfers because things can and will happen to your awesome 11.

      Sorry, that sounds unbalanced unless you plan on playing 3-5-2 every week. As the guys said above 2 X 4.5m or 4 million rotators in defence and then a 4.5m midfielder-

Best keeper rotation between

A: Reina&Jussi

B: DDG& Fed

Reina up until last season won the golden gloves nearly every year hes been at Liverpool and Rodgers is known for solid defenses. Jussi plays under a dour manager who likes 1-0's and has great fixtures.

On the other hand, De Gea has Lindegaard breathing down his neck and Reading are an unknown quantity.

Still think the majority of posters will go for B but im not so sure.

i went for all three....

if i had to pick i would try to include torres... need some chelsea cover and if you dont have him he could easily burn you as he has a double game week.

that said, he is torres.. so who knows if he will actually do anything worthwhile.. i also think chelsea will take some time to gel..so will probably win but wont be routs.
