Over the last week or so the Fantasy Football Scout fold have been sharing our innermost thoughts with regards to some of the most “Burning Questions” ahead of the new campaign. To accompany our views there, here’s our annual quick-fire round of predictions, where we let you know the players each of us are tipping to shine in a new season…

As our entry from last year will show you we’re prone to making the odd mistake (or seven). Steve Kean, eh? Who would have thought he would still be in a job. Even after he got Blackburn relegated, as half of us rightly predicted.

Here follows our thoughts on the year ahead. Soak it in and then join the discussion and offer your thoughts and counter-comments down below.

Andy, that’s my good self, kicks things off for 2012/13 with what is no doubt a bit of a fancy for one player in particular. And it’s not even Gylfi Sigurdsson. This is almost partisan from our resident all-rounder.

The Premier League

Second out of the traps is Big Dunc. One of two Everton fans on the Scout payroll our resident toffee can’t help but get a little bit excited at the prospects of his club. Is he mad? We’ll find out by May.

Having signed mid-way through last Stilicho gets his first Scout attempt to show everyone just how prophetic he is. His opinions on Norwich pretty much separate this gent from everyone else involved so he’s either a mad heretic or the one we should all be looking to in the future.

Granville gets a weekly platform on the Scoutcast to discuss and debate with Mark on all things Fantasy Football related. In this post he has, perhaps unsurprisingly, decided to pick some answers from the red side of Manchester. What’s more surprising is that we can see some light blue too.

Also having his first dabble at infamy is Jonty. With no Premier League allegiances for this Brighton fan, his picks can come untainted by any frivolous behaviour. He wisely agreed with me about a certain West Brom player.

The Premier League

Anorak may be our resident specialist when it comes to the men in black but he also likes to think he can be a dab hand at Fantasy football too. As far as top goalscorer predictions, he marks himself out as the black sheep of the Scout fraternity by being the only one not to tow the party line.

Having churned out more top quality articles than Anchor have butter, Paul is well versed on all things Premier League and as such we expect him to score 100% when we mark his results in May. Even if one of his answers is Emmerson Boyce, who are we to second guess?

Mark The guv’nor brings up the rear and clearly has a problem with Swansea’s prospects, whilst talking up that Southampton mob. Mark backed Grant Holt last season and, similarly, he’s going with Rickie Lambert to turn up with a similar goal spree. Oh, and he still fancies Leighton Baines. Must be the haircut or the record collection.

      5 points each!

Got a feeling that lamps/torres/mata are going to hog the points - Ramires to play deeper and Hazard not to get full quota of minutes but maybe a cheeky assist

So saw the Press Conf. RVP is nailed on and might even start against Everton. Fergie says he hasnt played pre-season but adrenaline can work in a players favor. He will be assessed over the weekend and if not starting, he will be on the bench.

RVP said he chose City over United as United breathes football! When he asked the little kid inside him, that kid screamt for football. Shows he likes a club with tradition. 😀

    Loving him already!

So - here we are: friday night in australia... about to call it a night and im assuming when i wake up tomorrow i wont be able to get on so here goes: There is a lot of money riding on this side so please be critical (it's a tad different but i think it works)

    Green (Al Habsi)
    Hangeland Zabaleta Cole (Cuellar Turner)
    Bale Mata Taarabt Robson-Kanu (Pienaar)
    Tevez Torres (c) Podolski

Planning on watching torres/podolski and rooney/graham very very closely to see how they look so i can potentially make that trade straight up but not going to make my mind up now!

    thoughts please lads

I've never heard the expression but Rio reckoned it describes a person who appears to be one thing when he's actually another (I suppose like the soft filling of a hard choc ice). Seems a little dubious to me though!

It wasn't actually Rio who called him it. It was a follower. Rio retweeted it with a comment along the lines of "haha, choc ice, that's funny"

Who knows if Rio fully understood it or not. Footballers in General seem incapable of owning a twitter account without doing something stupid.

Rio owns his own clothing label and record label, he;s hardly retarded. he knew what he was doing, while he didnt say it, he agreed with it.

    Afternoon

Would really appreciate replies, this is the first chance I’ve had to check my team in 2 weeks, and the last before the deadline. Is this team all set to go?

    Federici (Friedel)

Cole – Clichy – Gunter (Fabio – Fonte)

    Hazard (C) – Kagawa – Sinclair – Noble (Pienaar)

    Aguero – Torres – Pog

Main concerns are Hazard / Gunter playing both games, and Kagawa and Clichy starting. Any other problems, please let me know! I haven’t been keeping up with any news lately. Money for Torres – Roo GW2, HAVE heard about RVP – Man U but presumably Roo will still be playing

I agree on Sinclair, i think he's in the same situation as Dempsey. Also i'd probably go for Zab instead of Clichy as he's a guaranteed starter!

You came to the right post!

I've gone Gorkss over Gunter, i think he's more nailed on for the two - but I could be wrong.

I don't trust Hazard, but I think he'll play both.

I wouldn't bank on Clichy starting.

Surely freidel will be replaced soon, and will cost you a transfer.

Don't like Pog either, plus you have 5 players without a game on GW3

i think the reason theres so much love for michu is that he scored 15 golas from midfield in a struggling side from la liga!

Really thinking about a few changes in my team.
So cmon lads, help me out here.

    Currently on

    Jussi Fed
    A.Cole Lescott Saylor Cuellar Gorkks
    Yaya Michu Pienaar Bale Gurthrie
    Aguero Torres Petric

    2M

Thinking on the lines of Saylor > Rafael
    Cuellar > 4M
    Yaya > Valencia

    Finding 1M from elsewhere. Thoughts?

I was just gonna say lose Saylor. I had him but Newcastle are not for now. Rafael could be a good idea. Boyce or Hangeland also.

Not keen on Tony V just yet. Yaya or Nasri imo.

Lescott > Zaba + Pienaar > Taarabt would raise you £1m

My reason for Petric is i had too much of Graham last year. Just bored.
