Over the last week or so the Fantasy Football Scout fold have been sharing our innermost thoughts with regards to some of the most “Burning Questions” ahead of the new campaign. To accompany our views there, here’s our annual quick-fire round of predictions, where we let you know the players each of us are tipping to shine in a new season…

As our entry from last year will show you we’re prone to making the odd mistake (or seven). Steve Kean, eh? Who would have thought he would still be in a job. Even after he got Blackburn relegated, as half of us rightly predicted.

Here follows our thoughts on the year ahead. Soak it in and then join the discussion and offer your thoughts and counter-comments down below.

Andy, that’s my good self, kicks things off for 2012/13 with what is no doubt a bit of a fancy for one player in particular. And it’s not even Gylfi Sigurdsson. This is almost partisan from our resident all-rounder.

Second out of the traps is Big Dunc. One of two Everton fans on the Scout payroll our resident toffee can’t help but get a little bit excited at the prospects of his club. Is he mad? We’ll find out by May.

Having signed mid-way through last Stilicho gets his first Scout attempt to show everyone just how prophetic he is. His opinions on Norwich pretty much separate this gent from everyone else involved so he’s either a mad heretic or the one we should all be looking to in the future.

Granville gets a weekly platform on the Scoutcast to discuss and debate with Mark on all things Fantasy Football related. In this post he has, perhaps unsurprisingly, decided to pick some answers from the red side of Manchester. What’s more surprising is that we can see some light blue too.

Also having his first dabble at infamy is Jonty. With no Premier League allegiances for this Brighton fan, his picks can come untainted by any frivolous behaviour. He wisely agreed with me about a certain West Brom player.

Anorak may be our resident specialist when it comes to the men in black but he also likes to think he can be a dab hand at Fantasy football too. As far as top goalscorer predictions, he marks himself out as the black sheep of the Scout fraternity by being the only one not to tow the party line.

Mark The guv’nor brings up the rear and clearly has a problem with Swansea’s prospects, whilst talking up that Southampton mob. Mark backed Grant Holt last season and, similarly, he’s going with Rickie Lambert to turn up with a similar goal spree. Oh, and he still fancies Leighton Baines. Must be the haircut or the record collection.

Any chance of some feedback. I' trying to rotate 2 x 4.5m mids to get 6 bigg hitters up top and a reasonable defense.

    Foster
    Rafael, Fabio, Zabaleta (Demel, Clyne)
    VDV, Carzorla, Mata, (Marveaux, Robson-Kanu)

    Tevez, Aguero, Torres

Planning on changing Torres/Aguero to RVP/Podolski in GW2

looks decent, there are better options, but this is a competition, and if i told you them, it would kind of defeat the purpose of this whole malarkey.

I believe that you have to build a score from the back. So Fabio is not assisting that, either way.

If you want 6 big hitters, spread the love. Aguero and Tevez is just indecision by other means.

Actually Aguero and Tevez came more through convenience. I had Rooney and Podolski with 1m in the bank for RVP but have a feeling that Aguero will rip it up this weekend. Torres DGW is against all good common sense but for some reason I just can't help it

Chelski defender - to many foreseeable transfers.
Vidic, but no Zabaleta. Seesawing scoring.
Begovic - another transfer waiting to happen.
Foster - no viable rotation. Also Ridgewell, Olsson, McAuley. Just daft, imo.
Diaby - don't get me started. Ruiz - nice punt, 2 away games looming.

    Friedel / Frederici

    Zabaleta / Demel / Rafael / Clyne / Cuellar

    Mata / Maloney / Nasri / Michu / Bale

    Tevez / Petric / Torres(+2M)

i get Friedel back in my team cause Inter gk handanovic has injureed today and spurs were close to swaping Dos santos for Cesar and since Loris wont sign as well i think Friedel could do just fine

Nasri is my punt for gw1,2,3 and i plaing to swap him for Kagawa later on

Kagawa has never left my team since it's first incarnation and yet now I'm starting to worry he won't start. Is this natural cold-feet style jitters over an untested punt or, as I'm starting to think, a realisation that RVP has well and truly pissed on my chips?

    Thoughts appreciated.

if it's any consolation, I feel exactly the same. I am a United fan, so I have red tinted glasses, but I think he is going to be sensational, and at 8.5 a steal. He wasn't the german player of the season for no reason, and that is a tough league. Besides all that, he was only feeding Lewandowski last year, now he has Rooney and RVP.... did you just bar up? I did.

"RVP has well and truly pissed on my chips" - You are right about that

I think I just like the look of him in my team - so much so that I might even keep him just for the counterintuitive thrill, like some kind of bug-eyed mad scientist.

I'll make do with soggy chips. Soggy, foul chips.

Think im going in with the same team. No Rafael + Valencia for now. Rafael could see easily get more than a few cards and Finding that 1M more for Yaya > Valencia spoils the long-termness of the team.

If you really ask me, after the Press Conference, im tempted to save 1M for RVP. You ask me why?

    I'll tell you why.

        Here you go.

SAF - "I think absolutely it had to be in my estimation for bringing Robin here [to combine him with Wayne Rooney]. We had to say: 'What would be the combination?'. Robin can actually play in two or three positions as he has done at Arsenal. But last season proved what his best position was - No1, furthest up the pitch. 37 goals and 30 league goals - that itself tells you what his best position is.

Fox takes some FKs and corners though. He's the best bet from SOT.

I don't why I feel so obsessed with taking credit today but here is where it all started - http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2012/08/17/season-predictions-201213-view-from-the-scouts/comment-page-15/#comment-3640012

It seems like a long long time ago that we were all raving about Papiss.

People hanging back here then? Just one question, no RMT spamming:

    A) DDG, Begovic and Hangeland
    B) Begovic, Jussi and Vidic

Depends on the rest of your defense but I would prefer B.

Here's my "brave" and very hopeful line-up… taking some serious bargain punts on my midfield & defence.

    Ruddy
    Fox Kompany Hangeland
    Pienaar Kagawa Michu McClean
    Rooney Torres Aguero

Bench - Rudd, Clyne, McCartney, Miyachi

Planning to swap Torres after the double game week for Jelavic and upgrade Hangeland to Vertonghen until game week 6 at least. Then barring price rises etc maybe swap Miyachi or Michu for Noble and Lalanna as Saints should be over their tough opening fixtures by then.

    Comments welcome.
