Can Wissa cover for not having Mbeumo or is he "essential"?

Wissa is a great goal scorer but Mbeumo has penalties. Can't predict which of the 2 will score more. Coin toss

Choose according to who is weakest in your team, a mid, or a forward

      No.

I've had Wissa since GW9 with Mbeumo being in and out of my team (and back in) since.

Mbeumo is far the better player to have and Wissa doesn't cover what Mbeumo offers

Rogers must be the pick for the DGW.
Shame we haven’t gotten to see a full 90 of Rashford.
I see someone further up saying Malen looked wasteful. I thought he looked pretty lively and useful. High assist potential.

      TC’ing Salah is overrated anyway.
You’re only getting a 1/3rd of the points more than the rest of the pack.

TC is most impactful when used on an obscure player with potential.

FH DGW33 is coming to the fore for me. Will push me into AM25 but there's now a good chance I can navigate 29 (already have 10) and 34, WC35 for BB36.

All depends how big DGW33 is. Could be a lean one now that one double came forwards into 25 and one might hypothetically not happen at all.

The issue with Bruno is Amorim/United need him for both the 6/8 and 10 positions. Still a decent FPL pick with pens, set pieces and nailed mins but open play is not there when playing deep

I was looking at 36-38, with Wolves, especially if they get a double in 36 (WC30, BB33, FH34)
3 winnable games against mid-table opposition.

Now considering GW25-27 Emery (have 3 Pool), due to:
      1. How big will DGW33 actually be?
      2. Can I negotiate 29 & 34 without FH (looking more and more feasible, especially the former)
      3. Will I therefore be better off WC35-BB36?

      Dunno is the answer.

Even though the PL and CL are the obvious priorities I just find it wasteful to bin off a shot at the quadruple with such a risky squad and unnecessarily leaving out 90% of your regular team especially with an away game far from home and no strong bench to bail you out if needed whilst resting those players for the majority of the match anyway. Just doesn’t seem a big payoff by doing what Slot did.

    1. Tonyawesome69
      • 6 Years

Plymouth are last in the championship. Before the game, the Liverpool starting 11, on paper, should have been good enough to win imo

      1. Count of Monte Hristo
        • 12 Years
        10 months, 17 mins ago

Cup ties never quite work out that way. Starting with that lineup is fair enough. Having a non existent bench to change the game if it wasn’t going to plan is a red flag.

    2. Yes Ndidi
      • 6 Years
      10 months, 30 mins ago

Picking a team that inexperienced against bottom of the Championship isn't in itself disrespectful.

Assuming that you wouldn't need some of your big guns on the bench should the unthinkable happen probably is.

No sympathy for what I feel was a massive misjudgement (notwithstanding the fact that I'd take his judgement over mine 9 times out of 10)

So, is no one planning to get Cunha in soon?

Everyone conveniently leaves Cunha out of the equation when they talk about watkins v isak, but after the double, you could do Watkins>Cunha and its basically a perfect set up (great fixtures, no blank in 29).

Gakpo is likely getting sold for him, but that may not be until GW29.

      GW26: BOU vs. WOL
(Not a great fixture for Cunha.)

GW27: WOL vs. FUL & LIV vs. NEW
GW28: WOL vs. EVE & LIV vs. SOU

Cunha could come in from this point - but Fulham isn't easy so not terrible to hold Gakpo, given his fixture in GW29.

Although it's worth noting that LIV will have UCL on 4th March whilst the Southampton match is on 8th March. Gakpo very likely to play UCL so that could affect his minutes for Southampton.

TC - Used for Haaland hatty
      AM - 24 in use
      FH - 29
      WC - 32
      BB - 33

      Was earlier on -

      TC used
      AM - 24 in use
      WC - 30
      BB - 33
      FH - 36

Now with DGW 36 getting easy to navigate with no Pool and Palmer required, I’ve changed course

    3. Hazz

Have WC, FH, BB, TC left.

I'm not going to FH in GW29 most likely.

The DGW fixtures for DGW33 (and maybe beyond) will become clearer/easier to predicts ~GW30 (either just before or after).

So for now, I'm dead-ending* into GW29 and seeing when makes sense to play my WC after.

*I say 'dead-ending' but the reality is that my likely team will still be very playable in GW30 so there is fortunately no rush to play the WC early before I know what fixtures will be anyway.

Once we reach that point I can solidify my plan a bit more.

Either way it'll likely be a variation of either:
      - BB33, FH34, TC36
      - TC33, FH34, BB36
      (with WC ~GW32, or GW35)

      FH29
      BB33
      WC34

Think this weekend has thrown a bit more doubt on WC34 so that is moveable to either 31 or 35 most likely.

I don’t subscribe to the notion of wildcarding “too late”, particularly this season when we can roll up to 5FT.

G2G in terms of bench order?

    Sels
    TAA*, Timber, Kerkez
    Salah, Palmer, Mbeumo, Rogers
    Gakpo, Isak, Wood

    (Fabianski, Gordon, Robinson, HB)

Thanks for sharing - open question to all. Why would you not use the FH in gw 29? seems like no brainer.

Because GW34 is likely to have more blank fixtures. Also, you're likely to want to have DGW players in GW34 who will then have no fixture in GW34. FH allows you to 'optimise' both 33 & 34.

It's a no-brainer decision if your team needs it

Interesting. So 29, aim to field 11 players not from Pool or Castle to avoid using FH.

Who is currently in contention to blank in 34?
