Over the last week or so the Fantasy Football Scout fold have been sharing our innermost thoughts with regards to some of the most “Burning Questions” ahead of the new campaign. To accompany our views there, here’s our annual quick-fire round of predictions, where we let you know the players each of us are tipping to shine in a new season…

As our entry from last year will show you we’re prone to making the odd mistake (or seven). Steve Kean, eh? Who would have thought he would still be in a job. Even after he got Blackburn relegated, as half of us rightly predicted.

Here follows our thoughts on the year ahead. Soak it in and then join the discussion and offer your thoughts and counter-comments down below.

Andy, that’s my good self, kicks things off for 2012/13 with what is no doubt a bit of a fancy for one player in particular. And it’s not even Gylfi Sigurdsson. This is almost partisan from our resident all-rounder.

The Premier League

Second out of the traps is Big Dunc. One of two Everton fans on the Scout payroll our resident toffee can’t help but get a little bit excited at the prospects of his club. Is he mad? We’ll find out by May.

Having signed mid-way through last Stilicho gets his first Scout attempt to show everyone just how prophetic he is. His opinions on Norwich pretty much separate this gent from everyone else involved so he’s either a mad heretic or the one we should all be looking to in the future.

Granville gets a weekly platform on the Scoutcast to discuss and debate with Mark on all things Fantasy Football related. In this post he has, perhaps unsurprisingly, decided to pick some answers from the red side of Manchester. What’s more surprising is that we can see some light blue too.

Also having his first dabble at infamy is Jonty. With no Premier League allegiances for this Brighton fan, his picks can come untainted by any frivolous behaviour. He wisely agreed with me about a certain West Brom player.

The Premier League

Anorak may be our resident specialist when it comes to the men in black but he also likes to think he can be a dab hand at Fantasy football too. As far as top goalscorer predictions, he marks himself out as the black sheep of the Scout fraternity by being the only one not to tow the party line.

Having churned out more top quality articles than Anchor have butter, Paul is well versed on all things Premier League and as such we expect him to score 100% when we mark his results in May. Even if one of his answers is Emmerson Boyce, who are we to second guess?

Mark The guv’nor brings up the rear and clearly has a problem with Swansea’s prospects, whilst talking up that Southampton mob. Mark backed Grant Holt last season and, similarly, he’s going with Rickie Lambert to turn up with a similar goal spree. Oh, and he still fancies Leighton Baines. Must be the haircut or the record collection.

He has done that before. I have no City defender atm, it was one of them or a Chelsea boy. May get one in GW3 if it looks like Kolarov is playing every week it will be him

    Dear FFS Regulars,

I come to you as a humble regular-in-training with no pretentions of being among the true cool kids. I have not been through whatever creepy spanking ceremony entitles regulars breezily to discuss what they are preparing to eat with their Soave, and I accept that I am not yet admitted to the mysteries of saying “G’night all” before retiring. I am, however, trying to take fantasy football seriously for the first time this season, and want to start off right. Can you help a toadying supplicant? I depart for my holiday in the small hours tomorrow and by the time I reach my destination the Saturday matches will have been played. I would like to drink my first glass of Cotes du Luberon in the knowledge that my team is wicked smaht. To that end, can you advise me on this simple dilemma?

Ramires and Cazorla (no other Arsenal coverage)

    Or

Lamps and Michu/other good 6.5 mid?

Yours in gratitude and other appropriate forms of subordination,

    Eunuch Jelly 😉

PS: it won't make a difference because I won't be able to make any changes anyway! 🙂

      Lamps and 6.5 mid. I've gone N'Zogbia.

Generally speaking, if you see an opportunity like Chelsea's double, flop your cock on the block and go balls out for the win.

    I take it everyone's seen this http://www.chelseafc.com/news-article/article/2888729

Regarding Mata - 'He has had a long summer but I will factor in a break for him at some point because it's important,' conceded Di Matteo. 'He won't be able to go through the whole year like this. We will have to plan it intelligently.'

To me that suggests RDM is thinking of resting him later in the season and not the DGW. Thoughts on this very important matter?

shaping up ok? you don't seem to confident...

last season I hadn't found this site at this point in time. thanks to my awesome gut feeling of aguero (c) and a couple other players scoring well I had a pretty strong first gw but looking back my team was utter crap. thankfully I found this site before the gw 2 wc 😀 so that my team wasn't still complete crap.

thanks, you too! haha agreed. though in all reality it'll probably be you as the one that crushes me if anything.

can't remember, have you posted any pressers yet? would love to see either a pre game or post game one about our matchup :D.

china mag is taking a punt on him. worst case he's 4.5 bench fodder. but sounds like he can cover all the attacking positions which will be good in case of any rotation for europa or any injuries.

Udit, fox soccer channel usually has epl and some CL. though no la liga to my disappointment :(. and they usually have some of the big mls games.

ESPN might have some stuff sometimes...? i honesstly dont remember. I usually just turn on the tv and channel surf til I find me some EPL.

then there's quite a few hispanic channels that show all sorts of soccer games.

another bet is just find a sports bar/english pub of some sort that plays EPL games and go there

      Bale--Lampard--Yaya--Guthrie
      ---Torres--Tevez--Graham

      (Jaas--Pienaar-Clyne-Bennett)

      2m

This is my team. The only two I'm unsure of are Pienaar and Guthrie, but as I'm representing Everton, I'd quite like one of them - and he covers Guthries missed game week well.

haha : P. i'll give you some advice though!

          -i'd get zabaleta over vertonghen.
          - i'd get marveaux over guthrie tbh. more potential and could end up being the value player of the season! (see above). and even if not you can easily bench him

I think pienaar is a good pick. especially if you look at their fixtures in a couple weeks.

Pienaars fixtures are a big reason for having him, just not sure how big his returns will be with Naismith there.

Zabaleta has only just made way for Vertonghen, I had too many transfers I needed to do quickly - how long do you think Zab will be nailed on for?

I might go Marveux, Guthrie is boring.

Unless you're saving it for a particular purpose, I'd spend it. Gotta go in with our strongest teams. 🙂

Hmm, I might actually now be able to save my transfer for GW2. That is unless I get Siggy AND VdV.

Two Spurs mids and no Bale? Mind you, at one point I did consider going in with all three!

haven't got a spare 0.5 at this point. If I dump Ivanovic to Clichy/Kolarov in GW3 I could get Bale then for no hit.
