The 2024/25 UEFA Champions League (UCL) returns on Tuesday with Matchday 14 – and so does the competition’s official Fantasy game.

Ahead of the deadline, we’ve got a team reveal from Louis (FPL Reactions), our resident European football expert who co-hosts the official UCL Fantasy podcast.

GOALKEEPERS

UEFA Champions League (UCL) Fantasy: Scout Picks Matchday 11 1

Between the sticks, I still have just one playing goalkeeper, as the eliminated Alisson Becker continues to rot on the bench. My playing goalkeeper is Dortmund’s Gregor Kobel (€5.0m), though he has an unconvincing home fixture against Barcelona. Then again, if he doesn’t keep a clean sheet, he could rack up some save points, as I expect him to be plastered with shots.

DEFENDERS

UCL Fantasy Matchday 14: FPL Reactions’ team reveal 1

At the back, my Paris Saint-Germain double-up of Achraf Hakimi (€5.7m) and Nuno Mendes (€5.8m) remains strong, even with an away game at Aston Villa.

Currently, I have just one Inter defender, Benjamin Pavard (€5.0m). He should start again. Arguably, the most questionable part of my team is a Bayern pairing of Raphael Guerreiro (€4.7m) and Kim Min-jae (€5.2m).

Wasnt a good week for defenders which is why the chip is garbage most weeks. Lots would have ditched Everton and Bournemouth ironically. Some might have had Ait-Nouri. Lots went for Villa mid/attack over defence.

          It remains the same

The rules changed this year where you don't lose any saved transfers, putting you back to 1.

But that requires having more than 1 already.

GL to all bb33 my 32 was a disaster. In hindsight should have gone bb33 but as fixtures had not been announced when I used my wc I got a bit worried about targetting the wrong players, and in the end the fixtures turned out as expected. What a fool...

Not sure you will be getting much from the Arsenal pair. Everything is on CL so basically comes down to the two MC players. Probably KDB as they are not keeping clean sheets.

Hello guys. What would you do here? Thinking about following moves -> Palmer, Savinho & Howe -> Saka, Rogers & Pep (-4)

    Raya
    Bradley, Munoz, Gvardiol
    Palmer, Salah, Eze, Murphy
    Mateta, Isak, Marmoush

Subs: Fabianski --- Savinho, Konsa, Greaves, 2 FT's, 1.5 ITB --- AM active on Howe

They play that game a week before the semi final (with a free weekend) so would still have arsenal strong favourites. If palace Bournemouth was a bonus game it would be a no brainer but I prefer AM on arteta in 33

Or Pep given their resurgence. You make a good point though but I just can't look past the table bonus when I eventually play mine

          • 5 Years

Yeah that's fair - looks like it'll have to be Pep then as long as you don't want triple City players

Arteta an option also definitely. Could keep Savinho then and move Murphy for Rogers. Probably would prefer Pep because City need those wins more than Arsenal at the moment. Arsenal fixtures are good nevertheless.

Wth do you do with Savinho?

I'm really stuck. On the one hand there was a report out that he was supposed to start at the weekend but had a fitness issue so only made the bench. That makes me lean towards keeping him. But on the other hand, he can clearly be rotated and it's not impossible that he makes two bench appearances and gets nothing.

    A) Keep him
    B) Switch to KdB and keep playing roulette
    C) Switch to Merino

Same problem with him here, if I had the funds, I would 100% switch to KDB. I'm currently thinking about moving him to Rashford, Bowen or Diaz, alternatively benching and going Isak to Watkins.

    3. Jam0sh
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

It's a tough one. Depending on what kind of issue he had could also make him more vulnerable to start. I'd probably keep him if he's injury free. KDB has momentum to finish season well on the other hand.

    4. Odikostar
      • 11 Years

Get him gone. Both B and C are decent options. B if you want the higher ceiling

Is C not a roulette as well if arsenal are in semi of champs league? Bowen for the fixture? Mbeumo is boring but looks a steady one into end of season.

GW33 is fine. It's GW35 that Merino becomes a risk.

Is the below starting X good enough? Also, Howe to Arteta?
I'm yet to decide on the final XI spot, either Savinho, Savinho to other mid, or Isak to Watkins.

    Raya/(Areola)
    Gvardiol/Munoz/Konsa/(Milenkovic/Trippier)
    Salah/Saka/Sarr/Rogers/(Savinho)
    Mateta/Marmoush/(Isak)

    1. Odikostar

Wildcard musings for someone with no FH in 34

    Martinez*
    Konate, Bradley, Kiwior*
    Salah, Saka*, Merino*, KDB*, Rashford*
    Wissa, Marmoush*

    Pope, Isak, RAN, Neco

7 DGWers, 3 Liverpool Vs Leicester & Wissa

3FT to offload Rashford, Merino & KDB/Saka for 34 to get a decent team out

    Is the defence too crap?
Are Palace going to punish? (I'd be offloading 3 of them)

Ask after Villa's game today. Better yet, after Emery's presser before the weekend.
I expect Watkins to start tonight and with them chasing he probably will get 90. The Newcastle players also have a game midweek.
More info leads to better the guesstimates.

I have this same quandry. Man City's fixtures are better than Arsenal's as well until GW38. The question is how durable KdB is and will Pep rest him in the PL to go for the FA Cup win? He still needs top 5 for Champions League though so who knows. The other factor is ownership. Saka will have much higher ownership than KdB so there will be huge swing in your rank if one outscores the other siginificantly.

City may have another double in 36

Not sure that's good for KDB's minutes. He'd definitely start the last home game vs BOU, not so sure about away at Soton.

Definitely is exaggerated, but you'd expect him to start that one.

I think folks are potentially underestimating KDBs mins. One important info, imo, is he's playing pain free.

“Playing with pain was hard but now I feel free. I’m able to do a lot of training sessions and I feel I can do a good job.

I don't disagree and actually think that he'll play more minutes than Saka in the remaining games. Just that if they had a double in GW36, it would be Tuesday/Wednesday Bournemouth(H)**last home game** and Soton(A) on Saturday.

                Soton(A) - Saturday

Good rest periods between games before GW36.

Assuming 37 fixture is rearranged to 36 due to progression to FAC final:

                  27.04: FAC SF
                  02.05: GW35 WOL (H)
                  10.05: DGW36 sou (A)
                  13/14.05: DGW36 BOU (H)
                  17.05: FAC final
                  25.05: GW38 ful (A)

It's only one period where they have 3 games in 7 days. I wouldn't rule out KDB starting the remaining games if still playing pain free

Do you think Konsa gets much from those two games? He got a total of 3 points across the reverse fixtures.

The other two look good, albeit KDB is a minutes risk.

Depends on who you'd be playing otherwise.

I'd be tempted to roll the 3rd FT.

Just came up with this idea, let's say I save FT and play Savinho this week - assuming City and AV reach the cup final, Mateta Savinho to KDB Wissa for free before GW35?

This scenario allows to keep Isak and eventually offload Mateta who may be redundant after DGW33. Other option would be Savinho Isak to KDB Wissa -4 this week and benching Wissa, probably not that optimal.

Saving a chip for the end could really help.

Glad I just used my BB on a decent SG, got 22 not brilliant but way better than DGW scores seen.

Which option looks best please? (FH in 34 fwiw)

A/ Livramento & Palmer to Saliba & Saka (play Bruno & Isak)

B/ Palmer & Murphy to Saka & Rogers (bench Isak or Bruno)

C/ Palmer & Bruno to Saka & KDB (play Isak)

Is Timber worth keeping, got Raya?

Foden a get rid, easy move KDB.

Considered Murphy to Villa Rogers, Rashord but would need to bench Isak vs Villa :(. Mids

    Salah, Saka, KDB, Sarr, Rash/Rogers

1FT, 0.6 ITB, thoughts? Not on BB (on AM Glasner)

    Raya - Areola
    Gabriel - Gvardiol - Munoz - Burn - N. WIlliams
    Salah - Saka - Savinho - Rogers - Murphy
    Isak - Mateta - Marmoush

A: Gabriel to Saliba (and play Isak)
B: Isak to Watkins (and play Burn / N. Williams)
    C: Both for a -4
    D: Other?

    1. Conners
      • 7 Years

A - on the basis that you don't want to use 2ft's to swap Isak out and back in (assuming you want him back).

How are these budget picks for the rest of the season?

    Kiwior
    Bradley
    Konate

They don't fill me with confidence, but the premiums don't either!

Bradley the one I'm most worried about

Have got Bradley (ta much for the 9pts) leics next. & more threat than Konate.
      Kiwior (as can't afford Saliba)
      So... 2/3
