Al Ahli in 2024/25

Winning the AFC Champions League Elite was a great and historic achievement for the club. However, their domestic campaign ended in a disappointing fifth place, despite having the fourth-best attack (69 goals) and the third-best defence (36 conceded) throughout 34 matches.
This season, their sights will be set higher, targeting a run at the league title.
Transfers
The most significant signing for Al Ahli is Enzo Millot (6.0m), arriving from the German Bundesliga for €28m. He scored in his first official match, versus Al Qadsiah in the Super Cup.
They also signed Mohammed Abdulrahman (4.5m) and Saleh Abu Al Shamat (5.0m), with the latter expected to be Galeno‘s (8.0m) backup. As for departures, Al Ahli sold some familiar names like Roberto Firmino, Allan Saint-Maximin and Gabri Veiga.
You can find the updated list of all transfers on the official RSL website

Al Ahli have prepared well for this season, playing seven friendly matches, winning four and drawing twice. Then came the impressive 5-1 Super Cup semi-final victory.
In arguably the most relevant form guide, the big 5-1 versus last season’s strongest defence, they registered six big chances and scorers included Millot, Ivan Toney (10.5m) and Franck Kessie (6.5m, two goals), whilst Riyad Mahrez (10.0m) provided two assists.
Then again, Al Qadsiah did receive a first-half red card, so managers should look at Saturday’s Super Cup final against Al Nassr for more clues.
Fixtures + expected lineup
The team looks well-prepared and highly ready. Against Al Qadsiah, they played either in a 4-5-1 or 4-4-2 setup, with Feras Al Buraikan (6.5m) partnering Toney. They were flanked by wingers Galeno and Mahrez, as Kessie was joined in midfield by new signing Millot.
Sometimes, Toney will be supported by Mahrez, Galeno and Millot, while Eid Al Muwallad (4.5m) plays alongside Kessie.
At right-back, either Abdulrahman or Ali Majrashy (5.0m) should start, with Roger Ibañez (6.0m) and Merih Demiral (5.5m) in the middle and left-sided Matteo Dams (4.5m).
Top Al Ahli picks

Ivan Toney (10.5m): On penalties and coming off a 23-goal season. However, he was also the striker who missed the most big chances.
Riyad Mahrez (10.0m): Racked up 20 goal contributions to become the club’s top-scoring Fantasy midfielder on 204 points.
Galeno (8.0m): The late January signing was restricted to 948 minutes, but found time to both score and assist three times, making him a solid option.
Meanwhile, there are a couple of budget-friendly midfielders like Franck Kessie (6.5m) – key for both defensive contributions and attacking threat, and Enzo Millot (6.0m). Both are standout picks.
Defensively, the undeniable best choice is Roger Ibañez (6.0m). The ex-Roma star earned 224 points last season, once new scoring rules that reward accurate passes and defensive actions are taken into account. He’s dangerous on set pieces too, netting five times.
Ali Majrashy (5.0m) could be a good option, although his minutes are at risk with Abdulrahman starting the Super Cup semi-final. For those saving money, Matteo Dams (4.5m) looks like their best budget defender, assuming he secures a starting spot.
