With Gameweek 3 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) nearing, our pundits are starting to finalise their teams ahead of Saturday’s deadline.
FPL General, who has three top 500 finishes to his name, is fully committed to going without Mohamed Salah (£14.5m) and Erling Haaland (£14.1m) this season. He is also committed to a Gameweek 3 Wildcard – which he shares here.

Gameweek 2 Review

As is the case for many FPL managers, it’s been a rough start to the season. Having just 87 points in total and a rank of 7.7m wasn’t exactly how it was supposed to play out!
I always say it’s better to have these frustrating Gameweeks early doors rather than at the business end of the campaign when there’s less time to recover from them. We’ve got 36 Gameweeks to go; the first two were just the warm-up. The fightback begins this weekend and the consistent run of green arrows will be sweeter than ever.
My season so far was summed up by Cole Palmer (£10.5m) not featuring, captain Bukayo Saka (£10.0m) and defender Rayan Ait-Nouri (£6.1m) going off injured and Bruno Fernandes (£9.0m) sending a penalty to Mars. Nottingham Forest don’t seem to keep clean sheets any more, Ollie Watkins (£9.0m) is getting very little service and Florian Wirtz (£8.4m) might need a little time to adjust to life in the Premier League.
With three injuries, quite a few underperforming picks and just one free transfer available, I pressed the Wildcard button after the Newcastle United v Liverpool game on Monday night…
