In Gameweek 2, Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers who backed Arsenal assets, namely Bukayo Saka (£9.9m) and Victor Gyokeres (£9.0m), benefited from the Gunners’ 5-0 victory against Leeds United. Mohamed Salah (£14.5m) left it late but picked up a stoppage-time attacking return for the second week running.
Attention now turns to Gameweek 3, where there is a wide spread of captaincy options. As usual, when Salah faces a tricky fixture (in this case, Arsenal), there are plenty of arguments to look elsewhere.
Captain Sensible is here to help!
First, we will assess the on-site captaincy poll. We will then analyse player and team statistics, Rate My Team (RMT) and the Premier Fantasy Tools ratings ahead of Saturday’s 11.30am BST deadline.

Captaincy Poll

Fresh from his 15-point haul against West Ham in Gameweek 2, Joao Pedro (£7.5m) leads the Fantasy Football Scout captaincy poll. The highest-owned player in Fantasy currently boasts 27% of the vote.
Behind the Brazilian sit Bruno Fernandes (£9.0m) and Erling Haaland (£14.1m), separated by just one 0.5% at the time of writing. This is despite both players failing to return last time out.
Fernandes’ Man United teammate, Matheus Cunha (£8.1m), ranks fifth, just behind Chris Wood (£7.7m), ahead of home matches against Burnley and West Ham United, respectively.
Elsewhere, the ever-reliable Mohamed Salah is the only other player to pick up more than 5% backing.
