There’s not a Liverpool or Arsenal player in sight in the Scout Picks for Gameweek 3 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL).

We considered the Scout Squad submissions made by Neale (Editor), Tom (Deputy Editor), Sam (General Manager) and Marc (Staff Writer) before coming up with our final team.

As ever, there are certain restrictions for our picks:

  • An £83.0m budget for our starting XI
  • An overall squad limit of £100.0m
  • No more than three players per team

GAMEWEEK 3 SCOUT PICKS

GOALKEEPER

Robert Sanchez (£5.0m) gets the nod between the sticks ahead of Chelsea’s home match against Fulham on Saturday. The Spaniard has conceded just once in his two matches so far (an effort from 25+ yards, to boot), and given that Marco Silva’s side haven’t really impressed from an attacking perspective this season, a home clean sheet could well be on the cards.

    A, B or C

    A) Palmer -> Cunha (FT, dbl up with Fernandes)

    B) Palmer -> Gibbs White (short term pick)

    C) Palmer & Ekitike -> PM Sarr & Haaland (C) (-4)

      Don't like any.

Prefer any of these Palmer replacements instead: Sarr, Johnson, Semenyo

    Watkins + Palmer > Haaland + £5.9m.
Which £5.9m or less midfielder to go for?

    1. Bobby Digital
      • 8 Years
      3 months, 7 days ago

      Reijnders or Anderson

      1. Dubem_FC

Got Tijani already. Damsgaard or Anderson?

    2. Milner4eva
      • 13 Years

Personally Damsgaard but am biased as I own him. Think defcons are a nice bonus and nailed too.

      1. Dubem_FC
        • 10 Years

The reason Damsgaard stands out is, he plays behind the striker, on set-pieces and might even be on penalties with Wissa's situation.

        1. Milner4eva

Yup all that plus Defcon potential and naildness and I am a happy owner. Good pick imo

I would go Andersen this week.

Reijnders. If you have then Anderson.

The last day of being on a wildcard is sad.

Wait until all the players you took out haul.

      1. Feanor
        • 16 Years
        3 months, 7 days ago

Main ones out are Salah, Palmer, Gyokeres, Rogers, Fullkrug and Milenkovic, so hopefully no big returns there

Gonna show some uncharacteristic restraint this week. Rolling FT so I have 2 into the IB.

    Bench order right?

    Sels
    Porro Murillo Dorgu
    Salah Sarr Reijnders PMS
    Watkins Pedro Ekitike
    (Dubravka Tosin Rodon Palmer)

I really like Tosin this week. Reckon he's on for an 8 pointer with DCs. Would you consider benching Ekitike or PMS for him? I can't bench any of the other defenders I think.

    1. Feanor
      • 16 Years

Tbh I can see Forest giving up a dumb goal

So can I but it would be silly to bench. Murillo is also in theory a DefCon monster but he's been one of the worst picks for me so far. Whatever, they have to start this one. West Ham are awful.

        1. Feanor
          • 16 Years
          3 months, 7 days ago

You'd be mitigating your risk since you also have Sels

    2. Bobby Digital
      • 8 Years

Think I'd bench PMS for him.

    3. Milner4eva
      • 13 Years
      3 months, 7 days ago

I would set your squad up just like that, 4 at back (unless forced by injuries) always feels wrong to me.

    4. Espanyolie
      • 5 Years
      3 months, 7 days ago

      I’d bench PMS for Tosin

    5. Weeb Kakashi

100 out of 100 times you won't bench Ekitike for Tosin. Cut the crap mate. I would bench Tosin. Even as a Chels,I expect Fulham to score.

what striker would you get for this week only (going to wc after break( has to be under 8.4m and I already have Pedro and Wood,

    a) Ekitike
    b) Richarlison
    c) someone else

    1. Bihom
      • 1 Year

I like Richarlison for this week but do you need to make a transfer? Could just roll the FT through the WC

This if poss. What’s your front 7?

    Shall I take a -4 or play Konsa/Richards?

    1. Milner4eva
      • 13 Years

Reckon konsa is fine this week. No Eze for palace, I am happy playing Konsa.

  8. Bourbon, Pot Still or Islay…

So who should be the Palmer replacement?
    I have 11m
    Where’s best to get ?

Already for Ndiaye Rice Gakpo & Reignders

    1. Milner4eva
      • 13 Years
      3 months, 7 days ago

Plenty good options. I like Kudus Semenyo Sarr for more template picks and Cunha Mbuemo MGW for more daring punty picks

      1. Bourbon, Pot Still or Islay…
        • 11 Years
        3 months, 7 days ago

        Semenyo I was considering

Kudus a better pick than Johnson ?
        Spurs have some good fixtures

        1. Milner4eva
          • 13 Years
          3 months, 7 days ago

Yes Spurs fixtures great, I aren’t sure about Johnson vs Kudus tbh, I just rate Kudus much higher as a player in general so can see him being favoured by frank. That’s a gut thing rather than numbers thing tho

          1. Bourbon, Pot Still or Islay…
            • 11 Years
            3 months, 7 days ago

The simons arrival also complicates things

  9. RashFraud
    • 8 Years
    3 months, 7 days ago

    Palmer and Guiu to:
    A. Sarr + JPedro
    B. Reijnders + JP
    C. Reijnders + Mateta
    D. Sarr + Mateta
    E. Reijnders + Wood
    F. Sarr + Wood

Will be a medium term hold with plan to FH in GW6

    Rest of the team is:
    Sanchez
    Porro Andersen Richards Nico Rodon
    Salah wirtz bruno
    JSL Watkins

    Plan is to bench KDH

    1. Bobby Digital

      B

  10. Feanor

Are Burnley weaker defensively on the left or right?

I have Cunha on WC, but am thinking Mbeumo might be a better pick.

    1. RashFraud
      • 8 Years
      3 months, 7 days ago

Cunha probably the better pick long term. So I’d stick

    2. _Ninja_
      • 15 Years
      3 months, 7 days ago

Don't base a WC pick on one game, espacially when it's man utd.

    3. Milner4eva
      • 13 Years
      3 months, 7 days ago

Can you stretch to Bruno? Seems like a steadier pick long term than either of these if it’s a WC. Would maybe be a bit concerned these two may have Mount for competition and Amorim likes Mount

  11. BrockLanders
    • 10 Years
    3 months, 7 days ago

    What's the better combo?

    1/ Elliott Anderson & Ekitike
    2/ Sarr & Wood

    1. _Ninja_
      • 15 Years
      3 months, 7 days ago

Prefer B, especilly if Isak signs for pool

  12. IN SANE IN DE BRUYNE
    • 9 Years
    3 months, 7 days ago

I'm more tempted to captain Pedro, but feel kind of 'forced' to go for Haaland because of his price.. anyways, good to go?

    Dubravka
    Cucurella RAN* Porro
    Cunha Semenyo Rogers Reijnders
    Haaland(C) Pedro(V) Richarlison

    Petrovic Muñoz Gudmundsson Gordon**
    0FT 1.5ITB

    1. Miguel Sanchez
      • 9 Years
      3 months, 7 days ago

Think Chelsea Fulham will be low scoring with no more than a couple of goals in it. Good team, I’d go for Munoz over RAN

      1. IN SANE IN DE BRUYNE
        • 9 Years

Since I'm playing Rogers, I prefer RAN I think. Cheers, though mate

Bit of a benching dilemma, what would you do? Need to bench one of:

    Reijnders (bha)
    Damsgaard (sun)
    I. Sarr (avl)
    Strand Larsen (EVE)
    Semenyo (tot)

    Tough one…

        • 7 Years

You need to look at Villa & Sarr’s record against them?

        Larsen

    2. Bourbon, Pot Still or Islay…
      • 11 Years

      Larsen

If transfer cloud hanging he may not play or may not exert

Lot of faith in Nottingham Forest in the Scout Picks. Understandable as West Ham have been poor so far.

Will be interesting to observe what Potter does. Will he stick to his principles or will he abandon them for something more defensive and go for a 0-0?
