There’s not a Liverpool or Arsenal player in sight in the Scout Picks for Gameweek 3 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL).

We considered the Scout Squad submissions made by Neale (Editor), Tom (Deputy Editor), Sam (General Manager) and Marc (Staff Writer) before coming up with our final team.

As ever, there are certain restrictions for our picks:

  • An £83.0m budget for our starting XI
  • An overall squad limit of £100.0m
  • No more than three players per team

GAMEWEEK 3 SCOUT PICKS

GOALKEEPER

Robert Sanchez (£5.0m) gets the nod between the sticks ahead of Chelsea’s home match against Fulham on Saturday. The Spaniard has conceded just once in his two matches so far (an effort from 25+ yards, to boot), and given that Marco Silva’s side haven’t really impressed from an attacking perspective this season, a home clean sheet could well be on the cards.

We reckon United get a new manager bounce vs Burnley and bang in 4 or 5?

He knows how to coach it.

          13 games unbeaten now

You dont beat Liverpool and Man City, if you don't know how to implement it.

Surely after continously begging to be sacked, publicly stating the he's lost the players, and Grimsby ridicule United have another manager lined up...

If correct then players effectively playing for a new manager vs Burnley, no?

Semenyo or Brennan Johnson? (to replace Palmer)

doing Guiu --> Pedro; would then be logical to bench Ndiaye as the 8th attacker?

    Watkins > Haaland (-4)?

Watkins do have good 5 next fixtures, feel like if he score against palace I will be regretting and want to bring him back in.

    Play one

    1. tutankamun

      Probably A.

Palace were not convincing in Europe the other day. Plus Leeds defence is questionable after their 5-0 defeat v Arsenal.
Saying that, I’m playing Gudmunsson due to lack of other options.

First time on the boards today. Bottomed.

Unfortunately my dad passed away, but we got to see the FA Cup final together. He waited 80 years for that!

Lots going on so I rushed a FPL team together without much thought GW1

    Sanchez ((Dub)
    Munoz Pedro Williams (Anderson Esteve)
    Palmer Saka Bruno Wirtz Gakpo
    Watkins Mateta 4.5

Not WC before ITB ;Transfer window awaits

Thinking of a FH team this week even though defence looks OK.

    Again not much thought but.

    Sels
    Cucurella Porro Dorgu/ Livra
    Cunha Bruno Johnson Elanga
    J Pedro Wood Haaland

    Think I can do that?

Or take a -4 and sell Saka Palmer now and upgrade FWD, There maybe better midfield players come GW3. Sarr always scores against villa, even for Watford, he hauld, but there are not to many i like , especially this week, and want to keep long term

think Liverpool Arsenal will be low scoring without Saka, although, who knows? Villa V Palace will be, i don't mind the defence this week. I don't think Saka goes down twice. Palmer might. Don't like Pedro when Palmer plays but it is one game. But Pedro was better as a 10 last year.

Not sure how red flags work these days (regarding price changes) lol

Sorry to hear about your loss Crunchie. Am happy to hear that he got to see Palace win their first FA Cup before he passed.

As for your team, I don't think it needs a FH. Probably better to FH when there is a clear captain that you want and the big teams have better fixtures.

Just do Palmer & Saka to two midfielders of your choice as you know they are both out with no fixed timeline as to when they will be back. You should have enough in the bank to upgrade your 4.5 forward later

almost perfect but why not start Porro over De Ligt?

double united attack is too much when their form is uncertain.

Spurs fan … don’t quite believe we can defend yet lol

Ye double United I get … struggling for midf I like tho … Burnley H is surely a given, isn’t it ?!

      Prefer Dorgo, to De Ligt
Prefer one Forest defender. Play Porro. Spurs haven't conceded yet.
I prefer Johnson over Kudos for one last game, not long term, Prefer Elanga to Barnes full stop.
Deciding Cunha / Mbumbo myself as Cunha apparently played 90.

      Forward line nailed it

You have Frank now. Thats why you can defend and press. Very Glasner like. Defcons against Burnley? Not so sure. But Utd have been crap so maybe

            • 12 Years
            3 months, 7 days ago

            Ok Porro in for Milenko

So De Ligt & Barnes vs Dorgu & Elanga … my thinking is with no striker Barnes is bigger threat as he shoots a lot, Elanga will whip across the box but no striker to finish off …

Ahead of a GW4 purchase of Gyokeres/Ekitike, I'm torn between who to sell Palmer for:

    - Ouattara has a great GW3 fixture but not much else
    - Anderson covers Forest but he feels a bit bland

    Thoughts?

Thoughts on getting both Sarr and Mateta this week with a view of their fixtures in gw4&5 against Sunderland & West Ham?

Kudus - Spurs have a few attacking especially winger options, rotation risk with UCL coming ?
Wood - Difficult fixture next and again with UCL coming could be hooked early in games?
Pedro - Fulham tight defence and then palmer will be back and we don’t know where he and others will play yet?
Forest mids - Not explosive enough?

Sarr and Mateta the safest? Any thoughts?

I've been looking at the same, and nothing really stands out other than suggesting Forest or Spurs (which you already have, depends if you want to double up). Also, Palmer likely back to face Brentford in GW4, so is your bench option really that bad?

      1. SpaceCadet

Could also do guiu > pedro instead and keep palmer. Better move?

          Probably.

I already have Pedro, MGW and Kudus, and not sold on going double Spurs & Forest. Also not sure on Semenyo or Barnes who would be other options.

Just go with your current assessment and if it goes wrong so be it.

Fact is Wirtz returning is starting to look like a romantic notion and hee up against the best defence in the league and doesn’t play 90 & Wood is up against a team that are shipping goals for fun.
