After just three Gameweeks, we take our first international break of the 2025/26 season.

A significant number of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) players will be representing their countries, so there’ll be a nervous wait to see if any new Fantasy flags are added ahead of Gameweek 4.

This article provides you with all the essential information you need to know.

ANY LATE RETURNEES?

Best £7.5m+ forwards for FPL 2025/26

Players from non-European countries are often the last ones back through the door at their respective clubs, which raises concerns about their availability for the upcoming Gameweek.

While those concerns frequently amount to nothing, there are occasions where international exertions have been a factor.

As usual, there are some international fixtures taking place in the Americas in the early hours of next Wednesday morning.

Brazil, in fact, kick off at 00.30am BST against Bolivia.

Players representing African and Asian countries, such as Mohamed Salah (£14.5m), tend not to be as big a concern. They will mostly wrap up their international involvement on Tuesday.

Here’s a cherry-picked selection of which key non-European countries are playing where and when:

So would you go with Semenyo? Gakpo too much of a risk now with Isak? I'm probably not sold on Paqueta and Grealish with their fixtures.

Semenyo is a great set and forget option. Sometimes frustrating with a blank and missed chances, but could also return big in every game. Gakpo minutes might be managed with Isak / Ekitike.

Semenyo looks great this year - think he's a set and forget, especially with no Europe and Bournemouth looking strong. With Isak signing I would avoid Gakpo for the time being.

What are your ideas on Crystal Palace defenders? Looks like they are perfectly priced, who has the best price/value?

    A) Munoz 5.5m
    B) Lacroix 5m
    C) Guehi / Richards 4.6 / 4.5m

Munoz is tempting, and then it's probably close between Guehi and Lacroix

I also think they are perfectly priced. Due to the fact he plays so far forward, I personally love / prefer owning Muñoz!

Can I have some thoughts on this GW4 WC please lovely people? I have left 2.1 ITB for Ekitike > Isak in a couple of weeks.

    Raya
    VVD | Muñoz | Tarkowski
    Salah (c) | Semenyo | Grealish | Paquetá
Ekitike | João Pedro | Mateta

Subs: Dubravka | KDH | Senesi | Alderete

Not sure I would pick Tark, I'd rather find cash to upgrade him to Cucu. Also, you could debate if VVD is worth the money. Fixtures for Grealish and Paquetá are not too inspiring but reckon it's up to preference.

Cheers for the reply mate. Here's my logic:

        - Tarkowski plays 3/4 games at home before the next IB (same applies to Grealish), plus DEFCON bonus in every game so far
        - VVD is absolutely worth the money IMO, Liverpool have played some seriously tough games and now have a kinder run
        - Paquetá could honestly be another midfielder up to 6.0, but I like the fact he's nailed and on pens, plus his DEFCON data is really good (also scored for Brazil last night)

It'll be the ones coming back from South America (CONMEBAL qualifiers) probably as they play last out of everyone and at silly time difference vs UK. They'll be coming back and getting like a days training at most, probably not even that and you'll get next to nothing in the pressers about them. Likely to be more of an issue for clubs who have depth to rotate if they need so yes that probably does apply to Gabriel, Estevao, people like that whereas somebody like Munoz for Palace, they don't have another right back at the club I don't think.

Brazil play in La Paz, Bolivia on Wednesday morning. That place notoriously takes it out of you due to it's elevation above sea level. I really don't think Gabriel will start v Forest.

Don't Arsenal have 5/6 CB options? I don't think the Saliba injury is serious so him + Hincapie or Calafiori (both left-footed). Maybe Lewis-Skelly at LB if Calafiori?

Hincapie plays for Ecuador same time as Gabriel plays for Brazil. Mosquera is cover for saliba, so maybe caliafori but I dunno, feels a bit makeshift. I’d expect Gabriel gets 60 minutes.

I know, but the reason why Gabriel in La Paz is relevant is due to it being 12,000 ft above sea level. It drains the players.

You could be right, of course, just putting a warning out there.

Munoz is a beast. Last season he and Lerma were always the last ones back, but Munoz played 90 mins; 87 mins; and 82 mins after the IBs.

He's 30 years old in 2026 as well, couldn't believe it. Assumed he must be mid 20s at worst given he plays so much and runs so much

It's why the fans love the guy. Works extremely hard every day to keep his fitness levels up. Glasner has even said in a couple of his pressers that sometimes he has to tell Munoz to slow down, take a break for 10 minutes.

Thanks for the really helpful feedback yesterday on my WC squad.
    A few tweaks here:
    Vicario Dubravka
    VVD Cucurella Munoz Senesi VdV
    Salah Semenyo Grealish Reijnders King
    Isak Pedro Evanilson

I know Isak is a risk but I think he is worth a punt. And no Arsenal defence, I want to hold Cucurella a little longer then he can go for one.
It's 9 changes. Would you do it?

Interesting! It'll be even more interesting to see if that trend continues.....

I think the pens thing happened a few seasons ago and PGMOL changed the way they interpreted something around handball mid-season I think and the pens reduced almost instantly. I'd imagine they will be monitoring the trends

Would you free hit away from this? Can see my 6.8m rank being stinked up even more with this lot:

    Sels
    Murillo Tarkowski Porro
    Palmer* Bruno Salah Tielemans Reindeer
    Watkins Evanilsen

    Dub Dorgu Esteve Guiu

Does feel like we can be a bit more hail mary with the free hit in the first half of the season given we've got a wildcard and 5 free transfers for AFCON (LOL) to also play with

Media staying very quiet about Wirtz, a record-breaking signing, dropping 5 stinkers in a row #noticing

The same media will be calling him signing of the season if he delivers v Championship standard Burnley 😉

Happened to Reindeers after he delivered vs championship standard Wolves

I've no idea having only seen highlights, but is Wirtz playing poorly IRL? As in losing possession etc?
Or is it more he's been poor in FPL terms without any FPL points

Been a bit of a baptism of fire for him to be fair. If you could pick 3 central midfield oppositions you would not want to face early doors Bournemouth, Newcastle and Arsenal would be right up there.

Wirtz feels a bit more João Felix, and a bit less Eden Hazard
100m+ football transfers rarely recreate the numbers from their previous clubs
Bale, Coutinho, Felix, Griezman, Grealish the lost goes on

Bagelsmann needs to return to club football really while his name still holds a bit of weight

Tbf, he had a serious injury last season & missed some games for Leverkusen. In the bundesliga refs do their best to protect him because of his medical history.
He’ll need time to adapt but it won’t be long. He has a strong mentality & will bounce back, still only 22.

Who would be the best replacement for Diouf? Have 4.6m

    a) Geuhi (great fixtures but might be unsettled)
    b) Senesei (average fixtures)
    c) Just keep Diouf (and play v Spurs)
    d) Anyone else

I'm scrolling the list looking at all those Tottenham Hotspurs forwards and midfielders and have no idea who is any good for FPL
I miss the days of Kane and Son

Is it just me or have the DEFCON's probably done the opposite of what Towers would have been hoping for? I think they were hoping to see more diversification in teams and defences especially. From what I'm hearing and seeing people are just going to pick defcon magnets and set and forget them and unlike when you've got an attacking full back in your FPL team and its exciting, you aren't tuning in to watch Brentford against Wolves or whatever to count the number of clearances Sepp Van den Berg is making. I think it'll reduce transfers in defence, more rolling, which will reduce traffic to the site and as I say nobody really wants to watch a football match to count defcons? I mean does anybody even know what a recovery actually is?

I said this when they were announced. I’d rather lose cheering for goals and assists than win cheering for blocks and clearances. Spreadsheet interferers are ruining the beautiful game (don’t just mean FPL either)

    Which two?

    A) Lacroix + Tosin
    B) Guehi + 4.9 DEF
    C) Munoz + 4.0 DEF (Gudmondsson, Esteve, Rodon)

    Thanks in advance

Help me cure my puzzled wildcard mind...

    A. Haaland now and forever
    B. Mateta & Ekitike for two weeks and then both out for Haaland & fodder in GW6

    3FT for later

    The rest of the team...

    Sanchez
    Calafiori Senesi Munoz
    Salah Grealish Semenyo Kudus
    J.Pedro ??? ???

    Dubz VdV H.Elliott Rodon

Slot will very likely be asked about how he'll use Isak and Ekitike. All the Ekitike/Isak questions/answers before that are just guesswork.

Personally I don't think the Salah and Haaland drafts will work long term. I'm planning to use transfers swapping one for the other.
Something like Salah(bur, EVE)&Mateta(SUN, whu) to Haaland(BUR, bre, EVE) and some mid.

Thoughts on your current GW5 captain and who you would punt on if you could?

Looks a tricky gameweek with Arsenal playing City, Merseyside Derby and Chelsea at United.
