Our weekly early team news summary rounds up all the latest Gameweek 7 injury news ahead of the pre-match press conferences on Thursday and Friday.

ARSENAL

Medium-to-long-term absentees Noni Madueke (knee), Kai Havertz (knee) and Gabriel Jesus (knee) remain unavailable. Madueke has yet to have his second scan to determine the length of his absence.

Mikel Arteta also said earlier this week, ahead of the Olympiacos game, that Piero Hincapie (groin) remained out.

As for Wednesday’s match itself, there was a scare for owners of Gabriel Magalhaes after he was flattened by his own goalkeeper and subsequently taken off after treatment.

There doesn’t seem to be much concern, however. Gabriel took a seat in the dugout after his substitution (ergo wasn’t getting any more medical attention), while his manager reckons all is well – and even referred to a kick in the first half rather than David Raya‘s WWE move.

“Yeah, I think he’s going to be okay. He felt something, I think it was a kick, not sure, in the first half, and he was a bit uncomfortable towards the second half. He could carry on but we decided not to take any risks because he’s played a lot of games. He’s come from a long-term injury, as well, and we need to look after him.” – Mikel Arteta on Gabriel Magalhaes, speaking after full-time on Wednesday

ASTON VILLA

Youri Tielemans (calf), Amadou Onana (hamstring) and Ross Barkley (personal reasons) will again miss out for Villa on Thursday. The Villans face Feyenoord three days before Gameweek 7.

Unai Emery also ruled Andres Garcia out, even though he was involved in the squad against Bologna last week.

Added to the unavailable list are Jadon Sancho (illness) and Tyrone Mings (ankle). Mings looks set to be out until after the international break.

“Sancho is sick, still being sick. He was on Sunday. He trained this morning but he’s not in the group for the match tomorrow.

“We’re still having the same players out – Onana, Youri Tielemans, Andrés, Barkley.

“And other players, I think we are here.

“Tyrone as well, he is out.” – Unai Emery, speaking on Wednesday

BOURNEMOUTH

Adam Smith (hamstring) and Enes Unal (knee) are still on the sidelines for the Cherries.

Head coach Andoni Iraola said last Friday that he’d check on Lewis Cook (shoulder) ahead of the Leeds United match but the midfielder, who was in “pain”, missed out.

BRENTFORD

Reiss Nelson should be good to go this weekend. He missed out in Gameweek 6, having had a disrupted week of training due to illness but was already back on the grass ahead of the win over Manchester United.

Longer-term absentees Gustavo Nunes (hamstring) and Paris Maghoma (hamstring) are both back on the grass and closing in on returns.

Maghoma was set to “reintegrate into team training” this week, while Nunes “will feature for Brentford B in their upcoming games to build fitness and match sharpness”. He wasn’t involved in Tuesday’s reserve game, however.

BRIGHTON AND HOVE ALBION

Jack Hinshelwood (ankle), Adam Webster (knee) and Solly March (knee) remain on the sidelines for the Seagulls.

We’re not aware of any other issues affecting Brighton at present.

BURNLEY

Zeki Amdouni (knee), Jordan Beyer (hamstring) and Connor Roberts (knee) are still out for the Clarets.

CHELSEA

Cole Palmer (groin), Tosin Adarabioyo (calf), Wesley Fofana (concussion), Levi Colwill (knee), Dario Essugo (thigh) and Liam Delap (hamstring) remain sidelined, while Mykhailo Mudryk and Trevoh Chalobah are suspended.

Andriy Santos (unspecified) has been added to the injury list in the last few days.

It doesn’t end there, with Enzo Maresca saying earlier this week that Joao Pedro and Moises Caicedo are battling with “small problems”. Both featured on Tuesday in the Champions League but their training schedules continue to be affected. Pedro has not been named in Brazil’s squad for the upcoming internationals.

Facundo Buonanotte is back, at least, having been ineligible to feature in Gameweek 6.

CRYSTAL PALACE

It’s fairly rosy on the team news front at Palace, with only longer-term absentees Chadi Riad (knee), Cheick Doucoure (knee) and Caleb Kporha (back) on the injury list for Thursday’s Conference League clash with Dynamo Kyiv.

Walter Benitez (finger) is back available.

EVERTON

Jarrad Branthwaite (hamstring) and Merlin Rohl (hip) missed out again for the Toffees in Gameweek 6, with the latest news awaited on them.

Another Evertonian will definitely miss out this weekend: Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is suspended after picking up his fifth booking of the season.

FULHAM

Rodrigo Muniz (muscle) and Kenny Tete (knee) both joined the injury list ahead of the defeat to Aston Villa, while Raul Jimenez suffered a blow to the hip and hobbled off early in that game.

Further word is awaited on those three.

It doesn’t sound too optimistic for Muniz ahead of the weekend. Upon the striker signing a new contract on Wednesday, the Cottagers said they “eagerly await his return to action as he continues his rehabilitation over a muscle strain”.

LEEDS UNITED

Daniel Farke previously said that Lucas Perri (muscle) wouldn’t be considered until after the October international break.

Daniel James is a new concern, with Leeds confirming on Wednesday that he had an ankle injury – the severity of which is yet to be announced.

The latest is awaited on Wilfried Gnonto (calf), who has missed the last two games.

LIVERPOOL

Tuesday’s trip to Turkey was a costly one for Liverpool, with Alisson and Hugo Ekitike both suffering muscular issues.

Arne Slot has all but ruled the Brazilian out of this weekend’s clash with Chelsea. Reports suggest Alisson will be out for “a few weeks at least”.

“You can be sure that he’s not playing on Saturday and let’s wait how long it is going to take. But he’s definitely not going to play on Saturday.” – Arne Slot on Alisson, to Amazon Prime

“If my player is on the floor, I nine out of 10 times fear the worst – and by the worst I mean he cannot continue. That’s what happened with Alisson.

“Normally, he will not be able to play Saturday. That’s 99.9 per cent – I’ve already said 100 per cent, but let’s make it 99.9 [although] I think it’s 100.” – Arne Slot on Alisson in his post-match presser

As for Ekitike, he too seemed to strain his hamstring in the second half but thought it was just “cramp”.

“He felt something when he had to reach for the ball. I think we all know which one it was when we were trying to force something.

“After the game, that’s always the difficult thing with these moments when players feel like it is not too bad, but when you just walk around, it is something different than when you make a sprint or have to shoot on target.

“He said he couldn’t continue, so we had to take him off. Let’s see how he is for the weekend.” – Arne Slot on Hugo Ekitike

Giovanni Leoni (ACL) is out for the season, while Federico Chiesa sat out Tuesday’s Champions League game with a “little niggle”.

MANCHESTER CITY

After missing the win over Burnley on Saturday, Rodri (knee) made a very swift return to action for Wednesday’s draw with Monaco.

Pep Guardiola confirmed after full-time that he came through his hour-long run-out unscathed.

Elsewhere, Omar Marmoush (knee), Rayan Ait-Nouri (ankle), Abdudokir Khusanov (unknown) and Rayan Cherki (thigh) are expected to remain out until after the international break.

MANCHESTER UNITED

Amad Diallo is back in training after missing out in Gameweek 6 for personal reasons.

Tyrell Malacia, who looked set for a move away in the summer, was also welcomed back into the first-team fold for the first time in 2025/26.

Casemiro is available, too, after having been suspended for Saturday’s Brentford defeat.

Lisandro Martinez (knee) and Noussair Mazraoui (unspecified) are still unavailable.

NEWCASTLE UNITED

We finally have a timeline on Tino Livramento, who picked up a knee injury in Gameweek 6.

“From yesterday, Tino we think will be roughly around six to eight weeks, which is probably positive from where we were after the game, thinking it might be months.

“We’re probably looking, not this international break but maybe the next one, he could be back. It’s certainly more positive than we initially feared.” – Eddie Howe on Tino Livramento, speaking on Wednesday

Yoane Wissa (knee) and Jacob Ramsey (ankle) remain out until after the October international break, meanwhile.

“I think we’re still on track for where we were, which is after this international break coming up.

“He hasn’t trained on the grass yet, so we haven’t seen him as part of any team training. At the moment, that’s the schedule, but we’ll wait and see.” – Eddie Howe on Yoane Wissa

Fabian Schar (concussion) returned from a head injury for Wednesday’s win in Belgium.

NOTTINGHAM FOREST

Murillo (knock) is fit again and looks set to play a part in Thursday’s Europa League tie with Midtjylland.

“Yeah, Murillo should be good. He’s trained the last, sort of, three days, had a good solid block. First time he’s had a solid block of training. So he’s available.” – Ange Postecoglou, speaking on Wednesday

Oleksandr Zinchenko (groin) has joined Douglas Luiz (hamstring) on the injury list, however.

“Yeah, he’s not too bad. He pulled up a bit sore with his groin [against Sunderland]. He did well to finish the game to be honest. He felt it pretty early on. Look, he’s probably played more football in this last three weeks than he has played for quite a while, so it is not surprising that he felt a bit sore. It’s nothing significant. It’ll put him out tomorrow night, probably the weekend, with us knowing that the international window is straight after it.” – Ange Postecoglou on Oleksandr Zinchenko, speaking on Wednesday

SUNDERLAND

Reinildo Mandava serves game two of a three-match ban after being sent off for violent conduct in the draw with Aston Villa.

Romaine Mundle (hamstring), Dennis Cirkin (wrist), Aji Alese (shoulder), Leo Hjelde (Achilles) and Habib Diarra (groin) remain out.

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR

Dominic Solanke (ankle) has undergone surgery this week and remains out for the foreseeable future.

Randal Kolo Muani (dead leg) is making “progress” in his own recovery, while Cristian Romero sat out the trip to Bodo/Glimt on Tuesday as a precaution.

“Dom, you know, got that ankle issue that’s been bothering him for a little while, so now we decided to make a minor surgery. It’s a small procedure, so that will mean he’s not ready for today, of course. And of course, Leeds, he’s out as well. We will have more news about timeframe after the international break, but I don’t expect it to be long.

“Kolo Muani, I think now we’re finally on top of his dead leg, so there’s also progress there. That’s good and Cuti [Romero] was just a precaution.” – Thomas Frank, speaking on Monday

Radu Dragusin (knee), James Maddison (knee) and Dejan Kulusevski (knee) are still sidelined.

Yves Bissouma (unspecified) and Koto Takai (foot) are back in training.

WEST HAM UNITED

We await the latest on Aaron Wan-Bissaka (stomach), who was missing for Graham Potter’s final two matches in charge and Nuno Espirito Santo’s first.

Tomas Soucek serves the final game of a three-match ban following his sending off in Gameweek 4.

WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS

Other than long-term absentee Leon Chiwome (knee), we’re not aware of any injuries in the Wolves camp at present.

Will play Dorgu ahead of Cucu and Esteve. (Assuming Gab fit)
Both Dorgu and Cucu will be gone soon.

39% for a United clean sheet seems high considering they haven't kept one all season. If I were a betting wolf and not banned from them all, this would look like a good week to try and beat the bookies...

If Sunderland on more shutouts than half of the “Big Six” isn’t a bellwether of an entertaining season…

Isn't a bellwether a town or constituency that has historically always voted for the winning party in an election, and if it is declared early then gives an early indication of the likely overall result?

How many times in previous seasons has one of the promoted teams started with more clean sheets in the first six matches than three of the big six, and what happened later in those seasons?
What does it prove apart from that, based on results so far, Sunderland may have a more reliable defence than Liverpool, City and Chelsea and are unlikely to be pushovers when playing against top teams?

Or that Liverpool, City and Chelsea are likely to continue conceding goals even when they win?

So with more information now, Salah and Guiu to Saka and Gyokeres seems the correct move given Salah/Liverpool's clunky form and Arsenal's fixtures for the next half a dozen or so matches? Alternatively, Sarr and Gyokeres could be an option but I think doubling up on Arsenal attack, given the fixtures, is not a bad idea.

No Salah in your team right? I think WHU at home could be brutal and then the next 4-5 after that look like good fixtures for Gyokeres given the flat track bully reputation he is creating

Yeah this is a concern but I also think that he looks like a Lukaku type player that will score against weaker teams, and the fixtures have him playing weaker teams for the foreseeable so willing to take a risk. Plus, he will probably get more points than Guiu, who he will replace in my team, or Reijnders with those fixtures, who will be benched so he can play.

So Salah to Saka or Cucurella to Gabriel the obvious move?

If you used your WC, how many would you change? You would probably keep the same strikers and the same midfield (except for Salah perhaps) so really we are just talking about defenders which you could get in a few GWs with FTs. I am also shipping Cucurella after this GW.

Similar to you got WC & two thirds of your team, still waiting for clear Salah replacement, not jumping for him to crack a brace & kill all my work.

You need a NewC, Bournemouth, Palace defender as much as Ars.

I’d be going Williams to Geuhi?

Gabs move of those but Cucu’s fixtures turn good but are his minutes nailed.

Cast your eyes over my question above if you get a minute 😉

It's funny, people keep talking about how good a pick Ndiaye is..

Anyone who has watched Everton recently - he's been poor recently. Yes he runs around a lot and looks busy, but he barely shoots, is very peripheral and doesn't always last 90 mins. Everton in general look terrible in front of goal as Beto/Barry are not PL quality. EVE fixtures are also very bad from an attacking perspective.

Looking at upgrading a mid and am thinking to move Ndiaye on instead of Reijnders (who is nailed, and still look dangerous - could have scored vs Monaco).

Lol. Honestly he is a dud just like Semenyo whenever I pick him. Reason why I haven’t bothered picking Semenyo. Gotta sell Ndiaye soon though. Hope he scores a pen this weekend before i kick his small arse outta my team

Strongly considering benching Cucurella for Esteve this GW. I would sell Cucurella for Senesi if I didn't want to bring in double Arsenal attack this week so he will go next week.

Yeah he has not lived up to his price tag and I can gamble on his fixture swing or bring in a defender or two who are performing and in performing teams for guaranteed points in Guehi and Senesi. I think I will play Esteve this week.
