FPL Gameweek 8 Scout Picks: Three double-ups

With another international break now behind us, it’s time to nail down our Scout Picks for Gameweek 8 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL).

We considered the Scout Squad submissions made by Marc, Sam, Tom and Neale before coming up with our final team.

As ever, we are limited by certain restrictions.

  • An £83.0m budget for our starting XI
  • An overall squad limit of £100.0m
  • No more than three players per team

GAMEWEEK 8 SCOUT PICKS

GOALKEEPER

Chosen by three of our Scout Squad pundits, Robert Sanchez (£4.9m) gets the nod between the sticks. The Spaniard hasn’t exactly impressed recently, having failed to keep a clean sheet in each of his last four matches, a situation exacerbated by his red card at Old Trafford. However, Chelsea have a plum away fixture this week with goal-shy Nottingham Forest – no side has scored fewer goals than Ange Postecoglou’s team this season (five). As the only defensive option to feature in every league game thus far, Sanchez looks like a solid route into the Blues’ rearguard.

        Yeah think I’m leaning Woltemade now. Bowen also likely to be playing on the wing now but priced as a forward.

          Wolts away returns poor, 3 of his next 4 are away.

          Im in the exact same boat as you (looking to shift Richarlison) but looking over his away form, I’m not sure on Wolt.

      I'm in the same dilemma.
      I've been set in Wolt since last GW but now I'm leaning towards Bowen, purely based on the home fixture vs away fixture.
      Whichever I choose, I will probably get the other next week.

    Might be useful if structuring your wildcard team.

    Scored between 30 & 40 points:
    Defs : 14
    Mids : 17
    Fwds: 5

    Scored between 40 & 50 points
    Defs : 6
    Mids : 4
    Fwds: 0

    Only players to score over 50 points:
    Semenyo 66
    Haaland 70

    So, pretty clear that defs and mids are where the points spread is healthiest...

    Suggesting to me:

    4-5-Haaland
    or
    5-4-Haaland

    It feels counter intuitive to me playing only one striker by design, but if they are not bringing home the points then that's an issue.

      The strikers bar Haaland haven't got going. Even the mids are underperforming. Whether that trend continues is the answer to your question. But I think a 5-4-1 team will perform well this season

      Yes. I still play 3-4-3, for some reason, even if the end of last season already showed us the future of PL/FPL. Cycles. 1990 World Cup final comes to mind - red cards, penalty, 1-0

    Am I reading this correctly?
    The government is "doing everything" to get supporters with a terrible track record to come to the UK. Fans who sing vile chants in the streets and are banned from entering Amsterdam after their behaviour last year.
    How is this helpful for Britain?

      I've got a lot of similar players and can't decide on BB either.

      As I stated above I'm worried that Richards might get rested. Also two Palace v two Bournemouth doesn't seem ideal.

      I'm accepting any advice myself.

          I don't have any information on Richards but it just seems to me that he could be a doubt considering he was playing in the US at 2am BST on Wednesday.
