Having escaped any major injury concerns from Saturday’s action, Sunday has brought us a major worry with Sergio Aguero hobbling from the field after just 9 minutes of the clash with Southampton. While he walked from the pitch with assistance, seconds later he was stretchered from the sidelines.

The Argentine striker, well backed by Fantasy managers going into the Gameweek, appeared to twist his knee in a challenge with Nathaniel Clyne.

Aguero is currently owned by 32% of Fantasy Premier League managers, with 35% ownership in the Sky Sports game.

The latest from the City medical staff was that they were described as “cautiously optimistic” on the prognosis of Aguero’s injury. According to Sky Sports’ reports, the striker will undergo a scan at the club once the injury has settled when a more conclusive opinion of the problem can be gained.

Roberto Mancini confirmed post-match that his striker would undergo further scans with a full prognosis likely within 48-hours.

“I am worried about Sergio because anything around the knee is dangerous and this injury was so strange. We will have to wait, but we are not sure exactly what the problem is at this point.”

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Sky's man who loves hanging around tunnels Geoff Shreeves reports that City are "cautiously optimistic" about Sergio Aguero after he was stretchered off in the first half with a knee injury. Words like "knock" "swelling" and "crutches" are being used. These are better words than "ruptured" "snapped" and "horrible searing pain"

The fact is, they dont know yet, they wont know until the swelling goes down.

Really is funny reading comments on this site, like a bunch of kids reacting after every word, or shot on target etc

If I had Aguero, which I dont, I would not react until his injury has been confirmed.

Worst number 10 for a decent club in recent years?

    I'm thinking on of:

    A. Gallas (Arsenal)
    B. Joe Cole (Chelsea)
    C. Dzeko (City)
    D. Robinho (City)
    E. Joe Cole (Liverpool)

Yes, it is.. But I learned from many season not to underestimate injury. Its effect could last even after the player is fit to play.

It would have been harsh but a penalty and potentially a Tevez/Zabaleta goal/assist combo would have been lovely.

i tend to go with the attacker. Not watching todays game, so don't know how good defencively Southampton have been playing. I know theyve only conceeded 1, but I remember back to last season at elland road, they kept a clean sheet but lived a charmed life
