In the Suspension Tightrope, we look at the players close to a ban, already suspended or returning from the naughty step in Gameweek 15.

HOW MANY BOOKINGS RESULT IN A BAN – AND WHEN ARE THE CUT-OFF POINTS?

ban Gameweek 13

We’ve taken the above table from the Football Association website. It details the cut-off points for the various yellow card thresholds.

The one we’re concerned about right now is the five-caution mark. This is an unwanted target that Premier League players will have to avoid for their team’s first 19 league matches of the season.

Punishments for yellow card accumulation are competition-specific, whereas suspensions for dismissals cover all competitive matches.

ON FOUR YELLOW CARDS

There was just one new addition joined the 21-strong list in Gameweek 14. That player was Brighton and Hove Albion’s Sergio Gomez (£4.9m).

Gianluigi Donnarumma (£5.7m), Riccardo Calafiori (£5.8m) and Daniel Munoz (£6.1m) – all of whom have double-digit ownerships – remain precariously positioned on four bookings but at least avoided fate-sealing yellow cards in midweek.

ON THREE YELLOW CARDS

There are 47 others who have a bit more breathing space on three yellow cards.

They include Micky van de Ven (£4.7m), Antoine Semenyo (£7.7m), Marc Cucurella (£6.2m), Mohammed Kudus (£6.5m), Jack Grealish (£6.6m), Igor Thiago (£6.8m) and Phil Foden (£8.3m), who all sit in 10%+ of FPL squads.

SUSPENDED IN GAMEWEEK 15

FPL notes: Why Caicedo was a sub + £4.2m Guiu assists

Tim Iroegbunam (£4.8m), Tyler Adams (£5.0m) and Joao Gomes (£5.3m) all picked up their fifth bookings of the season in midweek and serve one-match suspensions in Gameweek 15.

In terms of ongoing punishment, Idrissa Gana Gueye (£5.4m) serves the final game of a three-match ban.

Lewis Cook (£4.9m) and Moises Caicedo (£5.9m) will miss the second of the three matches they’re suspended for.

Mykhailo Mudryk (£4.9m) also remains provisionally suspended by the FA.

BACK FROM A BAN IN GAMEWEEK 15

FPL Gameweek 4 differentials: Elliott, Truffert + Paqueta 4

Lucas Paqueta (£5.9m), Marcos Senesi (£5.0m) and David Brooks (£5.0m) all return this weekend.

That trio had served one-match bans in Gameweek 14.

Took a bit of a risk last night before the price rise.. did Cunha to Foden.
    Form and fixtures for Foden.
Cunha just didn’t look good last night.
    Hopefully it works out

Barnes (or any of the wingers) the one for a FH, far more explosive but there is that boom or bust potential. Bruno G for the long-haul in the main team if not FH. Probably wait and see predicted lineups though as it is anyone's guess who plays on the wings

I would 100% keep Chalobah long term. He's equal leading goalscorer among defenders ( with Munoz and VanHecke) has kept one less CS than Munoz and is 1 million cheaper than Munoz.
I've had Trevoh since GW1 and he's are bargain with the versatility he brings to the table.

I don't think FH is attractive this week - not enough clear fixtures to target and you have cover in most of the good ones. Newcastle cover probably the exception, but can you get that with a FT or two?

      1. Jstap94
        • 2 Years

Yeah I have also been considering next week as an option (I am actually sort of hoping that Munoz gets booked this week so he can serve out whilst I FH).

My problem parts are Gakpo (dont think he will start) and having to play Enzo vs Senesi

Just personal preference, but I never worry about the attacker vs defender thing unless I've got lots of them in one week. Enzo could score and Senesi could get DC, just the same as if they weren't playing each another.

I guess its that the ceiling is higher if they don't play each other, you cant get the CS and a goal. But the way BOU are playing i think the CS is unlikely anyway!

youve clearly owned in FPL and that must have been frustrating, and he has been frustrating but he is our best CF unfortunately so is going to play most games, he hasnt been playing badly but hasnt been getting fpl returns. Admittedly he looked awesome when he first came in and hasnt hit those heights recently.

He never looks involved and hardly ever shoots. Keep expecting Delap to start with Palmer in the 10.

Any Chelsea fans care to. give an opinion on why Palmer still isn't starting games. Ive been eyeing up bringing him in soon but he's been benched twice now. The Arsenal benching was understandable as first game back but he didn't come on and then didnt start the Leeds game either. Wondering whether or not he is as nailed as he used to be and has become somewhat injury prone.

coming back from injury, club have been playing well in his absence, they rushed him back last time and it didnt work so being more careful this time
