In the Suspension Tightrope, we look at the players close to a ban, already suspended or returning from the naughty step in Gameweek 24.

A reminder: players now reaching five bookings will no longer incur a suspension.

WHEN ARE THE CUT-OFF POINTS FOR SUSPENSIONS?

Gameweek ban 23 yellow cards

The table above is from the Football Association website and details the cut-off points for the various yellow card thresholds.

With five cautions no longer the danger zone, the next target players have to avoid is 10. Anyone racking up that many yellow cards before their club has contested 32 fixtures will get a two-match ban.

And your usual reminder: punishments for yellow card accumulation are competition-specific. Suspensions for dismissals cover all competitive matches.

THE RACE TO (AVOID) 10 YELLOW CARDS

ban Gameweek 24

Most players still have plenty of breathing room when it comes to the dreaded 10-caution mark.

Yerson Mosquera (£4.3m) joined Cristian Romero (£5.0m) and Lewis Dunk (£4.5m) on eight bookings for the season in Gameweek 23. All three centre-backs now have to avoid two more cautions in their clubs’ next nine matches to avoid a two-game ban.

Marcos Senesi (£4.8m) is a notable name on seven bookings, sitting in over 13% of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) squads.

WHICH PLAYERS SERVE SUSPENSIONS IN GAMEWEEK 24?

Adam Wharton (£5.0m) serves a one-match suspension in Gameweek 24 after being sent off for two bookable offences in Crystal Palace’s defeat to Chelsea.

Mykhailo Mudryk (£4.9m) remains indefinitely banned by the FA.

Best Michael Keane replacements in FPL 12

Michael Keane (£4.7m) returns from a three-match ban in Gameweek 24.

In case you’re wondering why he’s only missed two Gameweeks, the first match of his suspension was served in the FA Cup third-round tie against Sunderland.

Is Saka to Rice worth it? I think it could backfire immediately!

In isolation probably wasting a FT, but in the context of the entire team it could be worth it

Rice you have to judge over 10 games

So the immediately backfire shouldn't come into it...

Of course, most active on here are most interested in the week to week.

Shift Keane if on WC. Branthwaite is back, Tarkowki is captain, JOB is playing well. You can see where I'm going with this.

Not nailed, no. He's got a better chance of starting than Keane, though, as he can play RB.

I'm still not convinced on the Sanchez pick as I think he's got a mistake in him.

I'd get Chalabah for the Chelsea fixtures.

Probably go Pickford instead but I'd need to look at it again.

Everything else is almost tip top.

I'd want Mbeumo and/or Semenyo over your last 4 midfielders but I can see why you have chosen them on a wildcard.

JP to Thiago in 4 weeks or so.

I'd pick Mane as the third striker myself.

I was advised against double arsenal defence yesterday but Timber got into some crazy positions on Sunday. Think I might go for it still

I have a few options, keen to see what you would do this week with just one FT + £2.1m...

    Roefs Dúbravka
Gabriel Chalabah Van Hecke Mukiele Heaven
    Saka Semenyo Rice Rogers Enzo
    Haaland Ekitiké Guiu

    Thanks

        Cheers

        That's my thinking too

But I'm happy to play double Sunderland at home and have defensive options. So Dorgu feels a luxury move but it's enticing with his attacking role.

I can afford to go Heaven to Dorgu easily enough.

Burnley do have a knack of scoring away so maybe I should weigh that up.

But I'm not starting Dub over Roefs, that's probably my first mistake!

Saka and Ekitike need some attention. Saka to Bruno is an easy option. Not sure who to get for Ekitike, especially for a hit.

        Yeah

Possibly Watkins or even Barry then Thiago in a few?

I've decided to give Ekitike the Newcastle game. Think Liverpool win that at home, under the lights.

        What's your view on Evanalison?

If you are looking for only 3-4 games, take a punt at Pedro?

I used to like Evanilson but he seems like anti-FPL. His 5 goals have been scored against Liverpool, Man United, Arsenal and Spurs. Its good for Bournemouth but makes it difficult to pick him for FPL when his returns against lower sides are poor.

Statistically he is doing fine, just this fixture thing I'm not sure of.

Ekitike one more week then Pedro is a possibility

The price changes this season are an absolute joke. So volatile. However I refuse to let them dictate and rush me into transfer decisions. I need the time and the information. There are always options and ways to cover for lost team value for example Calafiori (when he's back) instead of Timber, Stach/Garner/KDH instead of Anderson, Mane instead of Kroupi or even Guiu and just forfeit a third sub option that likely wont be needed etc.
