Has a stitched Wayne Rooney made things simple? Have we already got the template attacking lineup? Certainly Robin Van Persie’s goal, coupled with the injury to Rooney that looks to have sidelined him for a month, suggests that the source of attacking points at United is settled. Unless, of course, you’re committing to the slick trickery of Shinji Kagawa over Van Persie’s pure goal power.

City’s Carlos Tevez surely has another spot up front reserved for him and, while Fernando Torres is doing his upmost to cling to our affections, Eden Hazard’s irresistible form surely means that we have a preferred route to Chelsea’s flowing attacking points.

After just two weeks, a combination of Van Persie, Tevez and Hazard appears to give the very best coverage of potentially the three most potent teams in the league.

You can argue around this – Kagawa, Samir Nasri and Torres all offer the alternatives but, right now, while these words are typed, I’m struggling to see past this new holy trinity as the most powerful combination.

Throw in Michu, Steven Pienaar or Mauroanne Fellaini – perhaps dabble with Danny Graham up front while Swansea’s fixtures remain favourable, or even Emmanuel Adebayor to cover Tottenham’s attacking threat, and the template after Gameweek 2 begins to look solid.

As we discussed in the ScoutCast this week, there will be new names emerging that will threaten to break the ideas we have now but, in all honesty, it’s difficult to see Van Persie, Tevez and Hazard being anything other than season keepers; barring injury.

It can’t really be that simple and yet the twist of fate that saw Rooney first benched and then stretchered down the tunnel, almost rubber-stamped matters. There will surely be thousands scrambling for Van Perise, even more suitors for Hazard after another bout or returns from this evening’s victory. Meanwhile, Tevez has Liverpool in his sights tomorrow with a clear run of appearances while Sergio Aguero recuperates.

If you currently sit on all three, congratulations; please fight back the smugness. If you’ve none of the above, cling to the hope that there’s naivety in these words and that these power houses will falter. Either that, or scrub up for some serious squad surgery.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I've done Taarabt -> Michu already.

Tomorrow I will do Torres->Tevez (barring injury or suspension to Tevez) for a 4 pt hit. I'm sure this is worth it as the alternative is playing Fonte v Man U

    The question is...

Should I do Mata -> Kagawa tonight? My alternative will be playing Kacanikic away at West Ham.

    VDV..

Having spent all week bigging up the fact he wasn't leaving (he didn't) he would start (he did) and that I would captain him (ok 2 out of 3 ain't bad) 🙂 I don't know whether to keep him. He will certainly fall tonight but had some good chances today. I think I may wc, sell him the buy him back cheaper..
Should I keep if not wildcarding?

I was too uncertain keeping VDV so switched to Siggy, got pissed when he didn't start then later saw Siggy came on and outscored VDV anyway! I don't know whether to feel good about getting that extra point or annoyed for using a transfer!

I was really hoping he wouldn't start after you'd been so absolutely adamant that he would 😛

Great fixtures but with Siggy and now Ade at Spurs, and Lennon fit and Bale nailed on, plus his injury record, I don't think he's worth it if you're WCing.

Haha saw this a few pages back 😛 I think yes if you are not WCing because they have Norwich at home next week and then Reading and QPR the following two weeks. So if he fails after all that then get rid.

51pts with Lescott, Cazorla and Tevez to play but think I'm going to take an 8 point hit (against everything I believe in) to do:

Walker, Siggy, Torres > Rangel, Hazard, Van Persie?

Thoughts? Why not - want to get in there before the price rises and although Hazard won't play in GW3, Torres wouldn't have either so not a big loss?

Is it the case that the midfield is the golden harvest especially as the forward lines are fragile once again. Who would you rely on at a big price to get you goals up front? Van persie will get injured is a possibility, Aguero already gone and Adebayor not guaranteed to cut it. Tevez appears best value and Torres finding a semblance of confidence but faces a blank gameweek.

Michu, Kagawa, Hazard (quite brilliant), Carzola, Piennar, Bale (potentially) Dyer. Names to conjure with and possibly worth the wildcard if you have gotten it wrong thus far.

I transferred Torres out for Rooney for a 4 pt hit and then captained the pig.

Clark gets sent off for -3', Ireland doesnt play to be replaced by Noble for a 2 pointer.

Lampard rested and hence no pen.

    17 (-4) with 4 left to play.

No idea what to do now, need to transfer out Rooney out and Lamps. Worth doing now for a 4 pt hit? dont wanna play WC until week 4. Sigh.

Ginkapo, not sure if you're around. Missed your reply earlier. Yes, I have Giroud too...

With bonuses, it's now Tevez + Kolarov vs Yaya +9, or without Kolarov it's still a straight contest of Tevez (who I have too, but not as captain) vs Yaya.

Lamps to Kagawa or Michu for my FT this week? Have Dyer, Graham & RVP. Head says Kagawa but Swansea's run of good fixtures is longer and the price rise will be oh so meaty

OK, this is part whinge, part "did anyone else have this experience?". Short version: disasters across the first two GWs but somehow not a terrible score (not what I'd like, but not terrible). The long version:

GW1: Played Aguero, Marveaux, and Rafeal for a total of 1 point, and 5 DGWers made a hit absolutely necessary. Moved Aguero to Rooney (arguably a foreseeably bad mistake) and Lampard to Michu (arguably a really savvy move). Former was a disaster, latter worked out OK.

GW2: Rooney (c) and played Guthrie, Migs (with Fed as backup) and R Bennett for a total of 2 points (with (c) double) and we all know what happened to Rooney. Rooney is already out for RVP and I am thinking about the other transfer I will make for a hit. Saved, it seems, by Rafa on the bench and some fortunate Baps.

End result: much better than it could be, but feeling totally stupid/shafted/scrambling. Anyone else have a similar experience or ideas what to do next (not ready for WC)?
