With the Gameweek completed by a classic Anfield tussle, it’s time for our members to scan some of the key statistics from the weekend matches to help identify the form and trends that could help shape future Fantasy selections…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

        better hurry up before he goes down

        I'd recommend McClean (I refuse you permission to have AJ :wink:) I would say Jarvis, but the best way to get him is to upgrade Noble (that's my plan anyway). Him or Pienaar should be the one you go for IMO

    Now for the 8pt hit move to get rid of Bastard Cazorla 🙁 Will it be Pienaar, Michu, HBA or Duff then...

      Keep Bale - You've already missed the Hazard train so get him gw4 and think of him as a 10.0 player since he's worth it. I got him at 9.5 so I figure it's worth it to bench him to keep the rise.

    I'd love to have some kind of feature whereby you can pick a future gameweek XI from your current squad. It would look and behave similarly to when you pick your team team for next week on the fpl website, except it would have gwX's fixture next to the players names. I know you can sort of do this in your head with the ticker and whatnot anyway, but it would just help visualise your squad a few gameweeks down the line. This doesn't already exist does it?

    Vorm Jussi
    Raf Ivan Cuellar Hangeland Zab
    Dyer Yaya Guthrie Bale Pienaar

    0.4 in the bank to change Bale to Hazzard after GW3.

    I don't like the criticism of 'generic teams'

    If you miss the boat this early in the season then it is very difficult to make up ground (Rooney and Aguero early last season, then the RVP show)

      As far as I can see there's only 2 "must haves" in the game at the moment. Hazard after the int break and Tevez.
      Michu won't keep getting returns as he has been and if you omit RVP you can do so much more with the rest of your team.

        I strongly agree, however I think my team is fine all round even with RVP in my team as many top mids aren't doing the business and defence can be good value with smart rotation. Also, I fancy RVP to be added to the "must-have" list soon enough.

    In terms of points, how much is a WC worth?

    I would argue if used wisely, 100 points. It allows for planning of starting 11 and allows one to play the fixtures. Furthermore it can be used to snap up a juicy C for a DGW.

      Impossible question to ask.

      But if you think a wildcard is worth 100 points, then why not make 15 transfers every week to change your entire squad (effectively playing a wildcard). You'd still be 44 points up if your '100 point' logic is correct. See how it works.

      Wildcards = vastly overrated.

          But considering you're only likely to make 9/10 changes with a wildcard, very unusual to go for a *total* squad overhaul, then a wildcard is just the equivalent of a 30-odd point hit. Not that many points in the grand scheme of things.

        I have used my wildcard very early on in the past few seasons and have found them to be "overrated" as you put. However, I saw many use it for a big DGW last season and then it proved to be extremely effective. This is why I'm keeping mine in reserve, the later the better as things become clear.

    Bennett played the 90 first GW and Barnett played this GW, I've currently got Barnett as my 5th defender but with Ivan not playing and Clarke suspended I'm not sure if I can field 3 defenders for the upcoming GW? really don't like wasting transfers on defenders (especially 4.0 ones)

        I'm trying not to but have gone early past few years and if done properly can be effective. What have you done with Hazard? In despite blank GW?

        I think its the fact Arsenal don't have a finisher yet. No goals = no cazorla assists

    Pfft. I hope this team looks sound because I'm about to spent 8pts on it 🙂

    Vorm (Fed)
    S Taylor - Rafael - Zaba - Clyne
    Nasri - Michu - Noble
    RVP - Tevez - Graham

    Subs: Hazard, Guthrie, Nelsen
    (Caz, Rooney, Cole -> S Taylor, Michu, RVP)

    Torres -> RVP

    but to do so I need to sacrifies on of my expensive midfield (Cazorla, Bale, Nasri). Which one need to go for Pienaar?

      Nasri > Pienaar

      Bale and Cazorla more nailed on although they are yet to produce the goods points wise (stats suggest big points haul is not far away for both)

    Off to bed. Would love to build a WC-less (WC = FF Buffoon of the highest kind) 100 man league.

    The code is 149644-462167 should you decide you like your mince pies with a little bit of spice on them!
