This was a Gameweek littered with outstanding performances, particularly in midfield where the array of talent jostling for spots in our squad now presents a major headache. This week’s bumper edition of “Big Numbers” for members carries out the usual exploration of the stats behind the Gameweek, with midfield options across all the price brackets gaining momentum and our keen interest…
Just woke up to find RVP hatrick!! How good did he play and how was united??
Open ControlsUnited were losing 2-1 at 80 something minutes...
Open ControlsSouthampton dominated quite a bit of the game. RVP missed a penalty trying to (do a cocky) chip the goalkeeper and scored his last 2 goals in the final 5 minutes. scored quite decent goals though. kagawa was useless
Open ControlsHe wasn't useless. United are just finding their shape. Scholes instead of Cleverly would have made it a different game
Open Controls
I currently have Nasri, Kags and Bale. Who out of the three would you get rid of to make way for Hazard?
Open ControlsCan we expect Bale and Spurs to profit with Dembele and Dempsey in the team? Bale's OPTA stats look really good despite the poor run of form.
Would like to do Kags to Ben Arfa and Ba to Podolski, ideally.Open ControlsLatest WC draft (promise no more posting for 2/3days min)

Is defence too week? Can upgrade a 4M to Koscielny if fit after break..Open ControlsIf I was wildcarding I wouldn't be going near a poor looking Chelsea defence, regardless of Ivanovic's attacking threat.
I'd rather take a chance on Sterling for £4.5m than El Ahmadi, but you still have some money in the bank so I'd be looking at the likes of Maloney too.
Graham hasn't looked very involved (both stats wise and watching the game) despite Swansea's goal glut, which itself won't continue. I'd consider Lambert whose fixtures pick up soon enough, or Berbatov and his 5 chances created in 45mins.Open ControlsI just got El Ahmadi as Guthrie was due to fall, likely to get Guthrie back.
Yeah I am concerned about Graham, the fixtures still looking decent. Fletcher, Lambert and Berba are all under consideration.Open Controls

Open ControlsNo you are BAINZERLFC.
Open ControlsA terrible joke is even more terrible when nobody understands it. Nevermind
Open Controls
me too
Open Controlshave managed to upgrade Fellaini to Hazard by downgrading Zabeleta to keep Bale, leaves the defence slightly weak but when Arsenal are the only clean sheet bankers id rather concentrate on the midfield!

I hate int breaks
Open ControlsI love England matches! So i'm content in them 😀
Open Controlsyou love watching long ball?

Open ControlsThey should make international breaks part of FPL so that you gain an advantage if you have a good international regular. the points would count for nothing but it would provide some novelty entertainment.

Is this team worth Wildcarding?
Schwarzer Green
A.Cole Zabaleta Hangeland Cuellar Demel
Michu Dyer Kagawa Hazard Miyaichi
P.Cisse Tevez Adebayor
I am hopefully going to turn that team into THIS, should I wildcard:
Foster Jaaskelainen
Cuellar Baines Ridgewell Hangeland Demel
Michu Dyer Carzorla Hazard Sterling
RvP Tevez Fletcher
Opinions? Am I being hasty with my wildcard just to get RvP and others in?Open ControlsThat's tough. I think you'll be fine. Schwarzer can run the shop on his own for the next few weeks. With a hit you can get RVP comfortably. I think you're ok 🙂
Open ControlsIt's also my defence that I'm worried about. Chelsea and City are both leaky. I also want to catch a few more price rises over the next 2 weeks, and should drop Adebayor, as Tottenham look a little guff. I took an 8 point hit last week, so don't really want to drop any more points :/
Open ControlsIf you took an 8pt hit last week, it would be wasteful of that hit to use the wildcard now. There will be periods of the season where you don't use hits. And the price rises aren't great at the moment, wait for the gw7 international break. Ade can easily go with a downgrade and the defenders when the time is right. Chelsea and City may tighten up, and both players have decent goal threat. It's up to you though, using a wildcard now isn't the worst time.
Open ControlsYeah, you're probably right. It is tempting to get the WC team I put, as it does look impressive! I just don't want to be kicking myself later when that team is priced out of my reach. But FF is a funny old game, you never know how it is going to go! Thanks for your input man!

B Pienaar and Graham???Open Controlsa

Apparently Arsenal are the only team in all divisions yet to concede. Even as a fan I didn't see that one coming...
Open ControlsHey im hearing ronaldo is unhappy and has said he would like to leave madrid can someone say if they have heard the same ?
Open Controlsyep that's the rumour, apparently he is depressed and spent 20 mins in the dressing room crying after the game
Open Controls- Open Controls
they say ronaldo told the club he was unhapy and wanted to leave because they didn't make another contract with him...
Open Controlsim actually hearin he is unhappy with the treatment of kaka, modric gets game time over him and he just arrived
Open ControlsI'd say this has a lot to do with it. As a madrid fan I'm disappointed with the treatment of Kaka because whenever he does get a chance in the team he generally does well. Not as well as a 65 Million player should, mind you, but just as good as Ozil or Modric today..
Ronaldo and Kaka became almost best mates and I can see Ronaldo being very unhappy with it all.
Guys I highly doubt its about money, he's one of the world's most paid players and he is known for his professionalism, he wouldn't damage the chances of the team doing well to improve the contract he already has.. I just don't see it being much about money.Open Controls
Yeah that story seems to be spreading quickly. How silly of him to wait until 2 days after the transfer window closes to say anything 😉
Probably just wants more money.Open Controls

Can anyone guess how much Maicon will be, if he will get game time and when he'll be added? Im thinking of doing zab > Maicon if price is right

So is Davies now a guaranteed starter for Swansea at Left Back who else could play there?
Open Controlstate
Open ControlsBut Chico is suspended so Tate will play CB i believe.
Open ControlsBut he'll play CB while Chico is out, Tate is a bit sluggish for a LB.
Open Controlsyeah davies is probably the pick for LB, though Monk could play CB with Tate out wide. Only Landrup really knows
Open Controls
on a WC and looking to end with the following team:
Federici - AL-Habsi
Ivanovic - Gibbs - B.Davies - Demel - Cuellar
Yaya - Cazorla - Michu - Maloney - Sterling
Tevez - RVP - Torres
of course at the moment I've got a bunch of potential risers in my team and Fed is some 4m jobber in case he drops but I was just wondering what everyone else thinks, or if there's any glaring errors I've made?Open ControlsWhen is the abandoned sunderland v reading match going to be played?
Open ControlsPeople who are shipping Bale, do you have any other Spurs coverage? I do not, and for that reason i'm fairly sure i'm going to stick with him.
Open ControlsThere are points to be had from other teams. I'm not fussed with Spurs coverage at the moment. I may consider Ade if they start stringing results.
Open ControlsYep, think I'm going to stick too and ride out tonight's price drop.
Open Controlsunless spurs start showing any type of form i refuse to get any spurs players in
it's panning out exactly like chelsea did last season, players being on the bench for no apparently reason (adebayor), weird captain decision (gallas wtf), younger players coming in taking place of older ones (lloris for friedel) and players not having a clue what their role is (bale).
for that reason i'm out (for now)Open ControlsAdebayor (lack of match fitness)
Gallas Captain (big deal)
Friedel > Lloris (Friedel is 41 FFS)
Not having a clue blah blah blah (Opta stats say otherwise, they just didn't convert)
The only way of getting ahead of your rivals is by having the players they don't, just as they hit form. Everyone may well end up being right about dropping Bale but judging from what I've seen, they have not been poor at all in the slightest and a big return isn't beyond imagination.
And for that reason, I am in.Open ControlsHell yeah
Open Controls
Trouble is theyve got 2 out of 9 points so far and their run of fixtures are reducing rapidly
Open Controls*good run
Open Controls
Going by coverage is silly. Right now I wouldn't get in Bale. I would've shipped him if I didn't have a lot of cash in the bank and a player like Taarabt. I think Bale is the most typical form player in the league. When he's not in form, you will rarely see him get more than 3 points. With Adebayor and Dembele in 90 mins per game, I think he will perform better, but Bale has only proved so far that he is able to deliver de nada against fairly poor teams.

...got lost at the bottom of page 12, apologise for reposting.
I’m currently contemplating using the wildcard, partly to try and generate a bit more value, and partly because I have neither RVP or Tevez, and it’s starting to sting! I made a pretty good start, but this week has hindered me some what and I’m on 205 points so far.
Currently got a team of:
Federici, DDG
Cashley, Baines, Hangeland, Demel, Hooiveld
Hazard, Kagawa, Yaya, Michu, Howson
Torres, Graham, Defoe (…yeah, I know, a very stupid punt as opposed to picking Tevez to replace Aguero)
with £1.3 million in the bank and no transfers made this week.
Just wondering would people, stick or twist on the wildcard?
Cheers in advance.Open ControlsGW4 team atm:
Friedel (or Federici not sure yet)
Zabaleta / Rafael / Demel
Michu / Ben Arfa / Bale / Nasri
Tevez / RVP / Graham
Obviously considering Hazard but I dunno if he is essential as others say, dont think he/Chelsea have performed incredibly hes just picked up points, which I gues you could argue it doesnt matter how he plays if he gets points, what do you think?Open ControlsHey guys, hope everyone did well today, quick question:
Got 1 free transfer left (already done Bale to Hazard), would you do:
A) de Gea > Foster
OR
B) McClean > Dembele
Comments appreciated.Open ControlsDont do B, silly move
Just sort out cerny if you are going to touch the GKsOpen Controlsi know yeah, was just looking at McClean and i'm not in any rush to sell, i like him in my team, its just this concern over de gea's game time now, i knew it was a risk to begin with, would you just sort out cerny with the free transfer yeah?

Advice needed lads.
Nasri -> ???
And should I keep Adebayor?Open ControlsBarfa? Do you have a spare cash for Cazorla?
Open Controls
Aww man what a day... RVP(c) missing the pen was as low as you can get when rivals all had Tevez as capt, but what a finish... I can't begin to think how gutted I would have been had it stayed as it was after the pen and with two weeks to dwell on it 😐
However, I am happy that I would never allow myself to behave like the complete tools who swamped the site goading the RVP owners after the pen miss. Pondlife...Open Controls+1000
Open ControlsThat was awful. Karma bit them right in the arse though. That a good H2H we had this week WR 🙂

they seem to forget its a fun game, and seemed to be under the delusion that they were in a boxing ringOpen ControlsI was allowed to gloat though yeh? 😉
(double whammy I didnt own RVP....)Open Controls
Seriously? He wants to leave Real Madrid.
He's doing it for attention. He won't move anywhere.Open ControlsToo cheap for us mate! 😉
Open ControlsI'm sure United can find some cash in their back pocket. United must be his first choice.
Open ControlsSurely, having RVP, Rooney, Ronaldo and Kagawa in your team is sexually arousing?
Open ControlsImmensely. And there is LW spot up for grabs at the moment 😀
Open Controls
There's no chance he'll leave, but if he did there's only 2 (proper) teams that could afford him and that's Chelsea and City.
Open ControlsAnzhi aren't a proper club and there's no way Ronaldo would go to PSG.
Chelsea & City would be the only realistic destinations is my point.Open Controls
Anybody else on here coming to despise the way people are biased towards their FPL teams?
I know Kagawa didn't exactly set the world alight today, but for people to say he was useless or had a 'bad' game is just false.
I'm sure there are better examples out there but it is all starting to annoy me...
There is a difference between how well a player scored in FPL terms and how well they have played generally. Although they will obviously correlate there are situations that arise as mentioned.Open ControlsLet haters hate i suppose, we know kags is good 🙂
Open Controlsbut he did have a bad game and was subbed off after 60 mins
Open ControlsCrikey you are trying Bemba. I appreciate you are entitled to your own opinion.
He suffered because of Uniteds lack of shape and overall cohesion. It therefore goes that all this 'Kagawa out' stuff is nonsenseOpen Controls
I agree. United were poor generally until Scholes came on (or IMO, Nani replaced Well beck and their shape was better).
Kagawa would've benefitted following that change.Open Controls+1
The ones who confuse reality with FPL performance are often the kneejerkers.Open Controlsalex ferguson agrees, he took him off after 60 mins
Open ControlsFollowing your logic I fully expect Kagawa to be immediately offloaded in the January transfer window 🙄
Open Controlshe will be on bench for away games and will probably play home games
away games he doesn't look very goodOpen Controls
kagawa was terrible today. opinions are usually based on the latest performance and he couldnt even keep up with the pace of the game.
a players gotta live up to the hype, or face the music.
unless you are saying that kagawa was very good today?Open ControlsKagawa had some decent moments against the Saints. Two decent efforts at goal and played some nice touches. Slid in a nice throughball to RVP and he would have been in if RVP didn't allow it to hit his heel. Problem for Kagawa is that Carrick and Cleverly don't distribute the ball often enough and quickly enough to Kagawa when he makes his clever little runs into space. I'm sure they'll get better at picking his runs once they play more together.
Open ControlsScratch, Foxes, Bemba. Read this spot on analysis
Open ControlsBerbar is right. But you'd have to say Evra, Vidic, Raphael, Rvp, Valencia etc also had a poor match - Cleverly in particular is neat and tidy but ineffective particularly away from home, but you still have to admit Kagawa played a poor match.
If I owned him I certainly wouldn't be getting rid now when he has Wigan at home next GW.Open ControlsHe was average because of Uniteds lack of shape. Not through his own lack of ability, lack of trying etc.
Open Controls
Totally agree with you on this, I really dislike how people give advice that clearly mirrors how they currently feel about a player or that is directly connected with the exact changes they are making based on popular opinion/games just gone by. It's really not worth listening to half the advice, especially when they're one-liners that show this arrogance about what players you MUST have and players you MUST NOT. Tips of 'get rid of Torres' for example, what is the reasoning? He has scored points and is the only striker in the team.
And as for Kagawa, this was simply not his game to influence, it was the RVP show today, this does not mean Kagawa was ATROCIOUS, he simply didn't influence the game the way he will undoubtedly in the future. Plus give him a break, he got taken off at 60mins.Open ControlsAgree as regards Kags, as regards advice, if you don't ask for it, you don't get it. So many people who play the game, don't do their own research, and are happy to pick the brains of others.
Open Controls
Cazorla or Podolski vs the Saints? Does Podolski have 2 games with Germany?
Open ControlsTop stuff from a class act, Snodgrass is on his way. May ut an end to some of the unhelpful responses I received when I mentioned his name in the past!
Open Controlspoor fixtures
Open ControlsSpurs away was one of them 😉
Open ControlsThey have 1 promising fixture out of the next 5 with w ham at home next
Then they got Newcastle, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal
Snodgrass will struggle hereOpen Controls
Tiresome. Lambert had poor fixtures vs Manchester United and Manchester City
Open ControlsHardly tiresome... more common sense.

You are totally right about putting the odds in your favour but form over fixtures has trumped fixtures time after time in my experienceOpen Controls
