With time to reflect on the first three Gameweeks of the new season, we roll out the first of a two-part series of Members articles. Focussing on overall team stats, we analyse the performances in front of goal and at the back so far, slicing up the key data in order to ascertain the most impressive performers to date:

Using the featured table in conjunction with the Goal Threat table under Team Stats in the Members section, we turn our attentions to attacking potential thus far:

Dyer, but don't do it yet.
Let's see if there's any update on that new Swansea winger. Whether or not he'll start (he mostly will), and in whose place.

You've got enough to cover those two teams. I think you should go for Newcastle or Sunderland coverage in attack. Or probably Morisson.

it could be pretty short. two roles you could take are:

                a) presser award:
you get a league (not your own) and you read all the pressers for it and then simply email jk and I your 1, 2, 3 and perhaps runner up choices for your fav pressers. we haven't decided if we are going to do this once per gw or once every other gw or once per month yet but either way should be pretty easy

                b) order of valor. take a league and report to jk and I the players worthy of valor award each gw. if you can do a full writeup thats great! if not you can just email us who should get it and what player and we can do the writeup

either of those appeal to you?

Went with Graham from the start - hurt me real bad. So, I don't think I'll continue with him. Still tossing up between the other two tbh. I'm leaning towards Lambert(and McClean in mid) though.

tricky call...Dyer certainly much more involved offensively under Laudrop but Pienaar would appear to be just as involved at Everton...both very talented players, I think I'd plump for Pienaar, but if you wanted to save some cash for re-balancing then I wouldn't argue with Dyer...

Sirigu & Beto would work better.

That may well be the other Maicon. The cheap bench strategy is even less sensible in the UCL format because manager subs means you always want some good options to bring off the bench on day 2...

I wouldn't put it past Fergie to rest Rafael and play Smalling or even Valencia at RB in Europe.

Tks. Nolan was on my initial draft and I totally agree with your comments. McClean seems expensive considering he's not really sprung into life yet and has worse fixtures. So are you guys confident Nolan can maintain his level of form without Carroll?

Controversial, but I'd probably say Yaya you know. A tall defence, solid at home, don't give too much away, I don't think he'll be as productive as last year. See last season's 1-1 for example. How tight was that? All your other midfielders have better chances of producing the goods

Guys, just watching The Big Match on ITV4. Looks like Brighton's Jimmy Case is playing pushed far up the pitch, almost like a Trequarista. Got an assist too! Worth a punt as my cheap midfielder?

Steve Gatting got another goal from defence as well, bandwagon?

I think 3-4-3 because there are cheaper options with better potential for the third striker spot. However, the tendency towards team playing a player 'in the hole' has increased the value of some midfielders (e.g. Cazorla, Michu etc...). It might also have reduced the value of some forwards but I struggle to think of an example except, perhaps, Rooney.

Way too risky, you could be wasting money on a non-playing defender or even worse you could be playing him and he'll make a 1 point cameo, he won't start much in Chelsea's defence, RDM put him in midfield but they have so many options in midfield that you can't see him doing that all the time. Either way he won't be playing 90 minutes week in week out.

OK thanks boys, in which case how about Rangel or S. Taylor? I am a bit wary about Taylor's next game week and so many injury doubts over his defensive colleagues

Had this debate myself and went for Rangel with the hope that good fixtures and attacking potential would provide....

Really long way of asking Pienaar & Pog or Guthrie & Fletcher

      IMO - A

Why is everyone so sure Mertesacker will lose his place? 3 straight clean sheets - two with the third string GK - say he's playing well.

I put it down to his having really improved his footwork over the summer...

Wegner prefers Koscielny over Mertesacker. I think he will soon be reinstated in the CD alongside Vermaelen.
