With just a single fixture remaining in the Gameweek, it’s time for us to take our members by the hand and lead them through the streets of stats, pointing out the landmark figures that caught our eye this weekend…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Just watched MOTD 2, couldn't help but notice Evans shouting at Rafael for Spurs' 3rd, what was that about? Because he couldn't deal with Bale?

You are right. It's because he has no one to cover his tail and can't bomb down the right as much as if Valencia were playing. Valencia out means his attacking returns take a hit. Nani doesn't track back like Valencia so Rafael has to be more cautious.

You are knee jerking, not to say there' anything wrong with that. Can you link your squad or write it out so that we can have a broader view?

United seems to have quite a few toughies coming up, but the main Golden Boot contestant should be able to score regardless of opposition.

The opening Vertonghen goal for Spurs at United was a great example of clever movement, as the commentators do point out... Defoe actually creates the goal as much as anyone else by dragging Ferdinand right and carving open a huge hole between the centerbacks.

So glad to see Defoe finally having the season he deserves. Have never understood the lack of faith shown in him for England and the Prem. Consistently delivers when given the chance.

Welcome to your new home of football. It's like Sky except a lot cheaper and informative :ol:

Plenty of chat about it on Saturday morning after he scored. As a Gooner myself I believe Wenger will stick with him - but CF will be very 50/50, you have to be prepared to have him as a LW.

Great movement and lots of dribbles, touches and chances. If his finishing improves he'll be a monster.

He's the 4th fastest riser after Bale, Ba and Suarez. Rising tonight, transfers do slow considerably in the week though. I think he'll manage one more rise, Friday night at the latest, so 2 altogether.

Only think he'll rise the once personally - and whilst I've got 2.2 in the bank and can afford to wait, I know i'l come to regret it at THAT point of the season when i'm 0.1 short of getting the player I need to top my league!

Was considering it before the last gameweek too. Cazorla still has way more touches in the final third, and more shots on target etc - I believe gerv has had 3 SOT's and 3 goals this year, whilst cazorla takes corners, has taken 5 free kicks, and has had 10 shots on target so far..

But what use are all those stats if he's not hitting the back of the net and Gerv is?

        My team is:

        Jaask Begovic
        Rafael Baker Demel Bertrand Gibbs
        Michu Sterling Fellaini Hazard Cazorla
        Ba RVP Berbatov

        2.2 in the bank

(I've already used my FT this week - took tevez out for Ba before he rose)

Cazorla has rise 0.3 since I had him, and with a good run of fixtures coming up - here's hoping he has atleast one cracking week to get me the 0.2 sell on fee!

If Gerv has another stormer though I'll have no choice but to jump ship.

Only worry is with the CL - Can't see cazorla being benched, but gerv probs will be, keeping him fresh for the weekend.

            One more week. I promise.

Hey guys, been working on my wildcard team more today, and have come up with this, note, no city or chelsea coverage, a bad thing?

    Foster - Begovic

    Baines, Vertonghen,Jenkinson - Demel, Clyne

Bale, Cazorla, Ben Arfa, Sterlin - Puncheon

    Ba, RVP, Jelavic

    Been pondering whether to do:

    1. RVP & Ben Arfa >> Aguero & Hazard
    2. Jelavic & Ben Arfa >> Suarez & Gervinho
    3. Other?

Comments and any help would be greatly appreciated, important i get this team right 🙂

I think your midfield is far too weak. I just feel Pienaar and Fellaini are much better value than Jelly. For me I would consider Pienaar/Fellaini + Lambert over Puncheon + Jelavic

Any reason why we shouldn't do Hazard ---> Bale this week? The stats suggest Bale is on the way up and Hazard is on the way down in terms of performance. Spurs have much better fixtures over the coming weeks and you could argue that Villa at home is just as good a fixture as Norwich at home. Thoughts?

I left him last week as I had already lost 8pts from transfers. He's not going to play for a while and considering forwards launder the most points usually you may want to consider swapping him temporarily until he comes back

This didn't cross my mind until just now. Whilst you can't afford not to have Chelsea cover for Norwich, Bale is on the upswing. 16 against United at OT, who cares who he faces next!

Granted, United haven't hit their stride yet but it's still away at OT. A good sign from what looked like a though fixture on paper. Besides, he's sticking his tongue out when he celebrates. It's official. Bale is back.

Which one would you transfer out first? Have included literally everyone I can think of transferring out, does include a few that would seem daft to sell...

    E) Michu
    F) Ben Arfa

Which one would you bring in first?

Hazard's tough one. He's got great vision and skill and is consistently up front. You would expect consistent attacking gains from him but he's just failed these few GW's. If I sold him I would have and extra 10% budget but deep inside there's just that voice that says "he'll do it next time"

Bale and Gibbs for me too. Bale's mixed fixtures (either easy looking or terrifying looking) put me off a bit, but Gibbs' are a bit mixed too.

Seriously doesn't look worth getting in a Chelsea attacker until the dust has cleared and this transitional period setting up the Hazard Mata Oscar system has ended. Mata's two attacking contributions were from set pieces after all..

I was very much laughed at for justifying Sterling and Suarez ahead of Tevez, let alone captaining. To me it seemed somewhat obvious Suarez would score. At no stage did I know he would score 3 and an assist though haha

What I have gathered from playing FPL:

Rule 1: If you have a strong feeling that someone will score, captain him.
Rule 2: Do not play or captain someone for the reason that other people have or recommend. Ask people for facts not opinions.
Rule 3: Do not play or captain someone for the simple reason that he costs more to buy in the game. Hazard, Adebayor, Dempsey and Hart are all examples of such. Btw everyone was asking if they should choose Sterling for Tevez last week and all decided against because he cost more despite their inner gut feeling saying Sterling would play better.

If you were 2 GW's early then I would've said Sterling. I guess Guthrie if Reading starts to score. But that's a bit of a gamble isnt it haha :P. Maybe Mikel? He's one of the few big team mids who has consistently started every game with such a low price tag.

yea ive got sterling in my WC team anyhow, makes up the fourth decent low end midfielder spot, yeah too much of a gamble on reading for me personally. Mikel has crossed my mind just for bench placement, but may stick with puncheon.

i wish to know this too, was discussed above with somebody saying he's not always guarenteed to start as a CF, and to accept if he plays LW sometimes, i'd rather have cazorla though because of the added set-pieces.

Same. Well i could actually just make the straight swap with Cazorla but i don't fancy losing Santi just yet so have to judge whether Bale is worth a hit. My first instinct is that he will be worth it. I'd have no problem playing him in each of his next four games - AVL, CHE, sot, WIG

A question I asked earlier but nobody answered...

I have Routledge and he is listed as having 0pts and playing 0mins.

He came on as a sub and should have 1pt, yet on the status page it says the points are confirmed.

I'd prefer the error not to be corrected as I'd have Demel coming off the bench, but I just find it odd that they seem to have missed his sub appearance.
