In the first of three Numbers Game articles focusing on goal threat, we examine the leading midfielders on show with seven Gameweeks down. We investigate averages in our own ICT Index, before probing further to cast an eye over some key indicators amongst the current crop of top 20 midfielders for goal attempts thus far.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I have Fellaini, Berbatov, Clyne and Demel currently on the sick list but wouldn't be surprised to see most, if not all, back playing next weekend. No need to panic. Seems like people are getting rid a bit sharpish. Really don't get those dumping Hazard and RVP. Sometimes it's not about fixtures and form and just about the fact they are class and will produce.

Hazard I understand your reservations on dropping, but there is a very solid argument for dropping RVP. It's just a question of whether you spend the extra cash on the right players.

    Quick question...

Do I stick with Suarez for Liverpool's home game against Reading or bring in Giroud for Arsenal's away match at Norwich? I plan to bring in Giroud for Suarez either before GW8 or GW9 but do I stick or twist this week?

I'd say stick and assess the Giroud situation for another match. Not completely sold yet, and Arsene has been switching it up in that frontline + Walcott coming into the warmth again?

Anyone considering a straight Defoe to Ade swap or want to offer their opinion on it? I have Bale already if that changes anything.

Here's my team in case you want to suggest a better transfer:

    Bego/Jussi
    Clyne/Demel/Rangel/Baines/Cuellar
    Bale/Cazorla/Hazard/Sterling/Michu
    Defoe/Tevez/Jelavic
