Arsenal set to activate Mario Götze's £30million buyout clause.
According to reliable German newspaper 'Bild', Arsenal could be set to make a new bid for Borussia Dortmund star Mario Götze.

It was widely reported that Arsenal had an offer in the region of £30-35million rejected for Götze back in 2011, but the young German has since signed a new deal which includes a €37million (£30million) release clause, which is in place until July 2013. That means that, should Arsenal decide to match the offer before that date, Dortmund can't reject it.

Götze's agent claims that his client has no interest in leaving Dortmund at the moment, but insisted on a buy-out clause in his contract "just to keep his options open."

It's worth noting that Arsene Wenger has said several times over the past two years that he "will spend £30-40million on a special player" and that his face lit up when a reporter asked him about Götze - exactly the same as it did when he was asked about both Podolski and Cazorla earlier this year.

It's also worth noting that Bild have been first to report countless stories involving German clubs over the past year, so if they say it, it's very likely to be true.
