Up next, we’ve a quick round-up of the Paddy Power Fantasy Football Cup VII Round Four Results played out over last weekend. Mark’s conqueror in the previous round, The Shadow, saw his hopes finally evaporate with a 49 – 53 loss to Donaldo.

Our last remaining previous winner, donnellyc, also tasted defeat, going down 47-53 to davescold, though world number two Iyad Zahlan remains in the hat – he marched into the last 64 with a 56 – 45 win over Bigo1.

We’re currently sorting out the next round of fixtures behind the scenes and should have the draw for the last 64 with you by tomorrow morning.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

How likely are Silva and Fletcher to play this week? I'm nursing a Bale and have Suarez on the naughty step too.

I packed Bale off to the nursing home. He can come back when he's better.

Silva had better play, as had Walcott. I can't remember a week like it for out-of-action big hitters

So, with Suarez definately out and Bale probably out (both of whom I want to keep) I can't afford to carry Stevie Fletcher unless it looks like he is fit - will be getting rid of him post-DGW even if he is fit.

So, who would be the best replacement for him? I can afford up to about 8.5m so I think my options are:

Defoe - on form and nice fixtures (leaning this way)
Berba - slightly off form but cheap and reasonable fixtures
Ba - on form but pretty awful fixtures

    What do you reckon?

Haha. I have been slipping up big time - a draw and 2 defeats in my last 3 in Serie A! Although, in my defence, one of those defeats I had the 2nd highest weekly score in the whole of Serie A....I was playing Dr Ex who had the highest!!

I am not optimistic about this week either to be honest as I am taking a longer term view

Gents and Gals, am considering several options for my FT this week with £2.6M and would appreciate your advice.

    Al-Babsi (Ruddy)
    Enrique, Cueller, Demel (Rafael, Wilkinson)
Fellaini (C) Michu, Santi, Puncheon (Sterling)
    RVP, Fletcher, Tevez

    A. Tevez to Giroud
    B. Tevez to Aguero
    C. Tevez to Berbatov

Am looking to go Rafa to Caulker next week, Fletcher to One of the other three above and then get Bale in the week after.

    MON comments on O Shea.

He is likely to be absent again when Chelsea visit the Stadium of Light on Saturday. However O’Neill says the 31-year-old is making progress, and is unlikely to be out for an extended period.
He added O Shea is responding well.

No, not that, just noticed you've been hammering the transfers in that. I've been playing for a few years, and I have sort of learned some simple strategies for it and thought I'd pass them on for free...

          1. Set up your team with mostly (e.g. 9) "safe bets" who look like they will be nailed on all season and solid points scorers - think Hart, Robert Huth, Baines, RVP, Bale, etc. Have a couple of cheap punts (probably mids) who may work out but accept you may need to change them for better cheap players!
          2. After the first few weeks, use a few transfers (but as few as poss) "sorting your team out" - you should know by then who are the winners, like Michu, Fellaini, etc
          3. After that try not to use any transfers except (a) blindinly obvious long term improvements or (b) bad injuries
          4. From the New Year, use your saved up transfers pot to look at the fixtures carefuly to spot "extra" games and get in players from them teams (I usually go for 1 defender and 1 attacking player)
          5. Collect your winnings

So who are making 4 point hitsthis week to have some dgw coverage?

I have cuellar and sess but thinking gorrks/ rafael out for shorey.

I can not imagine many people on here will ( which is a good thing) and i also cant imagine many casuals will either. Sorey will be my 5 th def going forward.

A 4pt hit for a Reading defender seems madness, they are awful and you be lucky to get your 4pts back.

Not on DGW though, with Shorey making lots of chances - i made the hit of Kompany > Shorey and Bale > Gardner (-8) with the intention of taking Bale back in and upgrading Fletcher after DGW.

Though my team is just a play about team.

      OK, That is not all!!!
@ HVT, I don't think hits should be made for the DGW. The fixtures and/or form simply aren't there.
I am going to contradict myself now and say that it is OK to Captain a DGW player. I'm thinking Fletch if fit or a Sunderland defender but not for a hit.
Chances of 1 clean sheet are average > good so a captain punt on one of them isn't a major risk. You are almost guaranteed 8pts, nothing to be shirked at the way things are going at present.
I'm contemplating Shorey as my TF but that's just to throw a Reading player in to the mix for a little gamble. (Already have Migs, Fletch and Robson Kanu.)

          Same thinking as me basically,
          Don't like Sess never have.
Shorey handy and will rise about .6 over next 2 months I reckon. Worth a punt imo.
Wisdom I thought about but there's too much messing about with Pool team to be guaranteed a start. If he's a banker starter then I'll reconsider but not for now.
