Up next, we’ve a quick round-up of the Paddy Power Fantasy Football Cup VII Round Four Results played out over last weekend. Mark’s conqueror in the previous round, The Shadow, saw his hopes finally evaporate with a 49 – 53 loss to Donaldo.

Our last remaining previous winner, donnellyc, also tasted defeat, going down 47-53 to davescold, though world number two Iyad Zahlan remains in the hat – he marched into the last 64 with a 56 – 45 win over Bigo1.

We’re currently sorting out the next round of fixtures behind the scenes and should have the draw for the last 64 with you by tomorrow morning.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Really unsure what to do here. Tempted to save the transfer, but have been thinking about Pienaar > Gardner. This allows me to upgrade Fletcher to Defoe/Berbatov next week, as well as upgrading at the back the following weeks.

Pienaar > Gardner sounds OK, I guess as long as you're not hoping to get much out of it beyond funds. Fully support Fletch out so funds are necessary. Berbs could be a viable option too but the way Defoe is right now, I'd go for him if you can.

Yeah, basically just to free up funds. Rotates nicely with Sterling until January WC. I agree, Defoe looks the better options as things stand, although if Fletcher is confirmed out this week I may have to get Berbatov instead...

      Nice hat 😉

I wouldn't be in any rush to sell either of those 3 players but Bale looks a solid buy out of those.

Have you seen Steve Clarke's comments on rotation? Do you think Aguero will realistically play every game with him, Tevez, Dzeko and Balotelli all competing for 1 or 2 spots?

        Hmm. Rotation sucks.

I want Bale back when fit and I have to choose someone. Chris Glover's latest piece suggests Silva is becoming less and less relevant to City's attack so he's the candidate.

Just itching to do something big with my warchest to haul my way out of the mire. Perhaps Berbs > Defoe but again, rotation is a possible problem there.

Not sure if Silva is becoming less relevant to City's attack to be honest. Although the thing is he can often assist the assister and lacks the kind of goal threat that Mata and Bale have currently.

If you watch the goals they scored against Wigan, Silva genuinely assists the assister twice. But to me that says he is still as relevant as ever to their attack. They are still key passes. Which would often lead to assists themselves.

I agree with what I think you're trying to say! As long as Silva is involved in attacks and is creating chances (assisting the assist doesn't count as a chance created by the way) then yes, he's still relevant.

He'll never be top for goal-threat though so he's more of a consistent assister than an explosive captaincy option.

If you look at the two goals City scored. For the first one Silva lays it off to Barry to shoot and from the rebound Balotelli scores. Then for the second, Silva races into the box turns and lays it off to Barry who then lays it off to Milner who scores. The chances wouldn't have come their way if Silva hadn't been involved. Just evidence that Silva is very much central still to City's attack.

Don't like the first 2 for these reasons:

      1) Getting rid of 2 players who are nailed on in their teams
      2) Getting rid of 2 players who's fixtures are one of the best over the next few weeks.
      3) Bringing in two rotation risk with the busy Xmas period approaching.

3rd one's good though, you can have that. 🙂

I am thinking of doubling on united upfront. Rooney n rvp. That would mean silva in. I don't like the idea of jones. Arsenal are due their run of clean sheets which usually arrives when they have a nice run of fixtures

Been looking at the Fatman & Robin combo but it ain't half pricey, especially when I want to keep The Racist.

Check out Chris Glover's latest piece before investing in Silva:

(You'll need to select Silva from the list of players next to the graphs)

Is Valencia fit for the City game? Might not get rid of him just yet. Maybe Valencia -> Nolan next week.

Also captaining van Persie. Good idea?

I bet a lot of people thought the same when RVP visited Stamford Bridge last year...

For games like this, you should try to ignore statistics and fixtures and put yourself in a players position before such a season defining game.

RVP will be 100% committed to making an impact on this game and I am most likely captaining him. Like last year(or the year before that) when Rooney scored an amazing Bicycle kick against City.

Big players excel in the big games.

I really like that punt this week, think he'll do well. Norwich could do Swansea or at least hold them out, Fellaini is a shout as well, wouldn't go near RVP (c) personally.

Further evidence that Silva will play on Sunday:

His form eating that mince pie looked good and you can see that he exits the door without help, which is an important base-line indicator as it is a mechanically demanding match action. He was able to fully weight bear and he showed no signs of impediment or abnormal gait.

united have a difficult game, bale out, suarez suspended, arsenal and chelsea out of form, mean many regular options are not there. A player who will play 90 minutes twice has a minimum of 4 points if nothing bad happens, which is 3 more than my captain got this week personally. Plus, Sess did 20 points in two games little over a week ago.

Although with the amount of captain fails there have been this year, I can see why someone would be tempted by a player who will score a minimum 3-4 points.

If Fletcher is confirmed fit it's going to be really tempting to get him in, even for Demba or Suarez. I think it would be worth taking the price hike to maybe get Luis back, Fletch is the one who has the potentially to score huge more than anyone else.

That said, his recent stats vs. Sess make me happy to have the latter in already.
