We’re down to the last 64, then, as we roll out the draw for the Fantasy Football Scout Paddy Power Cup VII. The fixtures will be played out over Gameweek 16 and once again Iyad Zahlan remains the highest ranked manager still in the hat. The overall number two takes on davescold this weekend, though the latter may fancy his chances after knocking out donellyc, our last remaining previous winner, in Gameweek 15.

Donaldo arrives in the final 64 having seen off my conqueror “The Shadow”; he now faces Hot Water, who has crept into the top 1,000 this week and already has a couple of double Gameweek players in his ranks.

    Injuries galore for me: Bale, Ba, Walcott, Wilkinson and Wisdom not playing.

    I'm presuming it's now time to ditch Wisdom permanently. Is Kilgannon likely to be a fixture in Sunderland's defence now, if just for the DGW? Trading Wisdom for Kilgannon or Nelsen would allow me to potentially bring Suarez back in for Ba next week...

    Only two DGW players, but I would rather have Theo than Sessegnon. Chasing a 70 pts lead in my ML, and Defoe + Walcott is two perfectly differentials to my rivals, as I've been the only one not having Suarez + Santi C in my team. Looking forward to the GW! Will wait til tomorrow to see if Walcott will play before I hit the magic CONFIRM button. Cheers, lads

    ok, so here's my dilemma

    This week I've got Suarez and Figueroa out, with Guthrie and Gorkss both looking unlikely to play.

    Next week I'll have Mata and Ivanovic out, with Guthrie and Gorkss still looking unlikely and my 2 Sunderland players away to Man U.

    I was planning to save my transfer this week and get rid of Ivanovic and Sess next week but it potentially leaves me with only 10 this week.

    So the question: Is it worth doing Gorkss -> Shorey and potentially take a hit next week?

    Just re-posting a little something on the Norwich defence, food for thought for those thinking about sticking the armband on old Michu this week.... They’ve only conceded 3 in their last 4 away games, and if you take out the Chelsea drubbing they’ve actually only conceded 5 in 6 away games all season.

    I went away on Monday, before Ba's brace 😡 .. so thought I'd do my transfer before I left. Gunter > Shorey.
    I used the FPL App (for the first time to do it) but before I did it I wanted to check if my plan could still go ahead with it, so I did my future 'planned' transfers, without confirming. I cancelled them, went back to my team, did Gunter > Shorey and I went on my merry way. Turns out getting out of the screen didn't cancel my 'transfer' and I've done Sterling > Puncheon!! 😥 Haha.

    Any news on fletchers injury? And is Gardner nailed on for Sunderland?

      No news yet regarding Fletch. Gardner appears to be Sunderland's first reserve, and has played virtually all season due to injuries - but should be safe as long as Cattermole is out.

    Although I'm thinking of doing it myself, I can see a Sess (c) fail this week. Sunderland have only scored 5 in 6 at home and only one of those matches was against a team in the top half. Should I just stick to the 'if in doubt, captain RVP' rule?
