Next up, a quick update on the results from the fifth round of the Paddy Power Fantasy Football Scout Cup VII ahead of this afternoon’s sixth round draw. World number three Iyad Zahlan continued his ominous march towards the silverware by seeing off davescold by 69 to 51.

Ro6035 progressed with a superb 90 point haul in Gameweek 16 – the highest score from any of our round five victors, while Chris White edged his way past Gylfi-MyNerdSon 80-79 in the highest scoring tie of the previous round.

Behind the scenes, we’ve already made the draw for this weekend’s round of matches and will be rolling out an article on the final 32 later today.

Afternoon all. May have been covered already so apologies for any repetition but.....does Vidic imminent return have any indirect impact on Rafael's starting berth? I know Rafa plays outwide while Vidic is central, but am slightly concerned about the knock on impact on Rafa.

  Rafael is man Uniteds first choice rb. Hell play the vast majority of games imo. But when there's 3 games in 6 days he may well be rested for the middle one. Same with a lot of players tho.

  It's so strange. Until Wisdom's injury, Rodgers was praising Wisdom and praising Enrique's work up front. Wisdom comes back and can't find a place. It could be Lucas Leiva's return that has changed things, but you'd think that would make Rodgers even more confident of giving Wisdom a place.

    As Gink said a couple of pages back, with Lucas back Rodgers is playing very attacking FBs as Lucas will drop back into a sort of back 3 while attacking. This means there is no real need for Wisdom who isn't an attacking player, whereas GJ and Enrique are better attacking players.

    The Jan transfer window will throw a lot of new options up too. Owners of both will be very reluctant to sell even on a wildcard so in a way Im glad I dont have them.

  @ 6.5 both were bargains and i'm jealous for ppl who owned them.. @ 8 i'd rather spend a million more and get silva etc or 2-3 million less for sterling, punch, hernandez etc

So how d'ya get Mata/Torres, Silva/Tevez, Bale/Defoe, RVP/Rooney, Cazorla/Walcott, Fellaini/Michu in your team for their great run of Xmas fixtures starting this/next week.

Some serious points right there, most of whom are sadly no where near my team at present......

  Defoe might be one to avoid. Adebayor looks likely to steal his spot when they go with one up top. Hazard and Moses might be worth a look too.
