Next up, a quick update on the results from the fifth round of the Paddy Power Fantasy Football Scout Cup VII ahead of this afternoon’s sixth round draw. World number three Iyad Zahlan continued his ominous march towards the silverware by seeing off davescold by 69 to 51.

Ro6035 progressed with a superb 90 point haul in Gameweek 16 – the highest score from any of our round five victors, while Chris White edged his way past Gylfi-MyNerdSon 80-79 in the highest scoring tie of the previous round.

Behind the scenes, we’ve already made the draw for this weekend’s round of matches and will be rolling out an article on the final 32 later today.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Jelavic will. Don't think Cisse will. Newcastle as a whole have been largely sussed out by most teams and rely on goalkeeper spills or defensive errors to win games.

For Cisse only if Pardew goes to the 3 up front again. But its hard to tell with Jelly as last season could have just been a fluke.

The problem is there is no reason this season should be a replay of last season, particularly when the teams have changed. Most importantly, Fellaini becoming a striker and Cisse ceasing to be one 😉 seriously, he's either on the flank now or up front with Ba, in both situations Newcastle struggle to score.

Have Lambert with a blank this week and looking to sell. With Torres having a blank, Ba not in fixture heaven and not seeing enough points in the available budget strikers... and having Suarez and having already been on the Rooneywagon... that leaves only Berba I suppose. Worth a punt perhaps. It helps me upgrade my midfield if heavy hitters finally come good, too.

But Lambert is 1m cheaper than Berbatov. It wouldn't help you to upgrade. It would actually take 1m out of your bank.

That's what upgrading is. Taking money out of your bank.

I've got 4.2 in the bank, the question is how much I splurge on another striker.

It's pretty clear that with less than 11 players this week and Lambert not playing I will by definition get 0 value out of him this week.

My point is Lambert > Berba doesn't help you upgrade your midfield. It takes away an extra milliion. You might still have enough money for all possible upgrades but it doesn't give you any more money it takes 1m away.

It DOES help me upgrade my midfield relative to all those more expensive options I'm considering!

It's not a stupid question. The way you worded it made it sound like Lambert > Berbatov would help you upgrade. It's not my fault you worded it like that.

If you sold RVP for Rooney it wouldn't have hurt. That way you would have been patient with Rooney. This is why I think the double up is such a gamble. Most players will get impatient if one of them gets 2 points.

Tevez's stats aren't that much better...

Aguero: 784 min 21 key passes- 31 shots-26 shots in the box-13-shots on target
Tevez: 1045 min 26 key passes- 50 shots-34 shots in the box-21 shots on target

Other than total shots, it's pretty close when you consider Aguero has played almost 300 minutes less.

I have RVP Suarez Fletcher and 4.5 mill in the bank. 1 FT. WHAT TO DO. I'm thinking Aguero, even though Tevez has better form Aguero should be more nailed on and is on pens. Another option is to wait one week then get Torres, meaning I'd have to play Fletcher versus mau, and I don't get the RDG game for Aguero/Tevez.

This is what I'm thinking, but I'm worried about his lack of involvement compared to Tevez.

Aguero. He's got to have a hot streak eventually, right? Why not now?

Berbatov looks a good option. Fletcher vs. United isn't that bad a bet anyway, not as if United are strong at the back.

Berbatov is always good. If I get him, that means I can upgrade Sterling to 9.4.. which is a little too low.

Waiting one week is also an option, this makes Torres an option.

Yeah it's terrible. I thought it was pretty cut and dry get Aguero, boom. But Tevez has been performing so well, Aguero just hasn't gotten things rolling yet. Of course, he's one of the best strikers in the Premier League, could explode at any moment I guess.

I'll stick with Tevez until Aguero show he's back on form. If the other strikers on his team could get more points when used as a sub, he definitely not worth 11 mil.

Not thinking about Bale until after his fifth yellow and/or Stoke. Way too many decent other options about to take the risk......been burnt by Suarez & Fellaini and Michu is only a matter of time.....

I've been burned by Suarez & Felaini too, having bought both in just before their 5th yellow's. Michu surviving last night is a bonus though and I've bought in Defoe for Spurs cover up to the Jan WC

I'd like to have Bale + Cazorla over the busy period, I think they'll play the most minutes out of all the heavy-hitters during Christmas.

Why do people keep saying RvP to Rooney is a massive saving. For me and everyone else that got him early its 1.5m. That aint gonna revolutionise anyone’s team that much!

    My team now:

    Foster - Bego
    Mertesacker - Enrique - Nelson - Cuellar - Fonte
    Mata - Michu - Fellaini - Sterling - Lallana
    RVP - Suarez - Fletcher

Thinking of: Enrique TO Caulker (for a hit this week, to make a team of 11 players)

Next week: Fletcher TO Long and Lallana TO Silva

    Good/Bad??
