Having watched City struggle to claim three points against lowly Reading, it’s now United’s turn to keep pace with Sir Alex Ferguson’s side facing an altogether more testing encounter at the Liberty Stadium. United’s trip to Swansea gets Sunday’s action underway, with a globe-trotting Chelsea the latest side to face Paul Lambert’s in-form Villa later this afternoon. Our Dugout Discussion chatroom is now open to collect the real-time chatter whilst the goals and assists accumulate.
The team news from Wales finds the home side making two changes with Michael Laudrup recalling Michel Vorm in goal, while Kemy Agustien comes in for his first league start this term, replacing Ki Sung-Yueng who drops to the bench to make way. Angel Rangel is still sidelined so Dwight Tiendalli continues at right-back. Nathan Dyer and Wayne Routledge take up the flank roles with Pablo Hernandez still out injured. Presumably we’ll see Michu lead the attack once again.
There are two changes for United, with Nemanja Vidic making a belated return to the starting lineup in defence. He lines up next to the returning Jonny Evans, with Rio Ferdinand and Chris Smalling both making way. Phil Jones remains at right-back in the absence of the hamstrung Rafael.
