With two Gameweeks until the next bout of double fixtures and Fantasy Premier League wildcards still fluttering, it’s time to take stock and give our Season Tickers another thorough examination. The fixture list spreads for another β€œFrisking” then, as we help you find the teams offered shortcuts to Fantasy returns and those facing major diversions.

The Highs

West Brom
The Baggies are in miserable slump – 6 defeats in the last 7 league outings tells the tale and has seen Roberto Di Matteo’s outfit slide at pace, down the league table. The next few Gameweeks look critical then – a possible make or break period for West Brom’s Premier League survival chances. Three home games in the next four Gameweeks give them every opportunity to stop the rot and start earning some reward for the refreshing brand of football that Di Matteo instils in his players. Hawthorns encounters with Wigan, West Ham and Wolves will surely be huge games and offer Fantasy Managers another chance to find value in the likes of Peter Odemwingie, and perhaps the more tempting prospect that is Chris Brunt.

West Ham
Featured in last week’s Frisking, the Hammers remain a decent source of low-to-mid price Fantasy talent given their run of opponents to come. Admittedly, in defence it’s hard to find prospects. Robert Green could be worth a punt if you’re looking to reap Save Points but with 1 clean sheet in the last 11 that’s perhaps the most you can ask for. Then there’s β€œout of position” prospect Jonathan Spector, so impressive in the 2-2 at Goodison. While the defence looks a major risk, in attacking terms however, West Ham offer potential and, as they demonstrated at Goodison, they do possess an attacking threat. Freddie Piquionne will be eligible to start at Blackpool, despite his ridiculous red card at Everton, while Scott Parker offers the prospect of attacking points and Bonus from midfield. Blackpool, Birmingham and West Brom come next over the next three for the Hammers – on current form they are amongst the worst defences in the league.

The caveat here of course is the Carling Cup Final – should West Ham make it past Birmingham in tomorrow night’s semi-final, they would possibly miss Gameweek 28 and their Upton Park fixture with Liverpool. It’s not yet known how the Premier League will reschedule the league fixtures for those teams competing the final – it’s possible that these will shift from the weekend of February 26, to midweek and remain in Gameweek 28. This seems likely given that Chelsea and United are already playing their second fixture of the Gameweek on Tuesday March 1.

Man City
Roberto Mancini’s side will end a run of 3 away games in 4 with the trip to Birmingham next week. Although the away form has been strong, the defeat at Villa demonstrated that City still struggle to break the shackles and take their opportunities away from home. At Eastlands however, City have scored 9 goals in their last 3 matches and with a run of 3 home games in 4 to come against very beatable opponents (WBA mun FUL WIG), it’s clear that we need to take another look at the assets on show. Carlos Tevez will need consideration once again – something to bear in mind as the scramble for Dimitar Berbatov, Robin Van Persie and Fernando Torres accelerates. Yaya Toure offers value at 5.7 in midfield, and then there’s Edin Dzeko – he looks odds on for a first City goal over his forthcoming run of opponents.

Also consider : Arsenal – you don’t need us to point out again just how nicely their form and fixtures are shaping up, although Gameweek 28 is a possible casualty should Wenger’s men make the Carling Cup Final. Everton – David Moyes is struggling for a settled lineup but, once the trip to Arsenal is out of the way, the Everton boss has three kind Goodison encounters to help find his best eleven. Blackburn – Steve Kean took Rovers to seventh with the 2-0 win over West Brom on Sunday and the fixtures continue to assist their progress in the coming weeks.

The Lows

Fulham
Clint Dempsey’s brace will have boosted his ownership as Fulham come out of their double Gameweek, but he and his team-mates face a rough time of it in weeks to come. The Craven Cottage clash with Newcastle in Gameweek 25 offers some potential but if Fulham falter here, they follow that with a tricky trip to face Villa before a local derby with Chelsea and a daunting visit to City. Defensively we shouldn’t expect too much from Brede Hangeland and co over the next few Gameweeks then, while Dempsey may struggle to repay the current level of investment coming his way.

Sunderland
Steve Bruce’s side welcomed the post-Darren Bent era with a 2-1 win at Blackpool, with Kieran Richardson’s brace rousing them from the hangover. Spirits will be lifted then, but Fantasy Managers will need to be wary of a fixture list that hands them at testing home clash with a rejuvenated Chelsea next, followed by trips to Stoke and Everton, with Spurs arriving at the Stadium of Light in between. The Black Cats’ defence will need to be at their best then, while in attack, Richardson and Asamoah Gyan will need to keep firing.

Tottenham
Harry Redknapp’s side have made great strides defensively in recent weeks with 3 clean sheets in 5; it’s no coincidence that this has coincided with the return to fitness of Michael Dawson. The Spurs rearguard faces a severe examination in the coming Gameweeks however, with trips to Blackburn, Sunderland and Blackpool all set to test their mettle; the North London derby with Arsenal also looms in Gameweek 28 if Arsenal fail to make the Carling Cup Final; should the Gunners do see off Ipswich tonight then Spurs could possibly miss the Gameweek.

Also be wary of: Wigan – the next two Gameweeks look favourable enough, but a trio of games against Liverpool, United and City hit them hard to follow that. Man United – form is strong and Berbatov looks unstoppable at times, but from Gameweek 27 Alex Ferguson’s side has a run of opponents that will demand the very best from them and may slow returns.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

He's been playing as a striker and doing well. He's scored a couple of goals.

Kewell has been incredibly selfish all tournament. Cahill could've had bags full of goals if Harry had passed it when he should've.

It must have changed drastically in the last 4 years then. I'm not generalising about all people from Texas (or the US), however there are pockets of the population there who are incredibly ignorant of the rest of the world.

I'm sure that once people get to know you then they'll realise that you don't conform to the European stereotype of Americans. It's unfortunate that a lot of American tourists (i.e. the Americans who actually make the effort to visit/learn about the rest of the world) are branded with the same mark as those American's ignorant of other countries......

To be fair, if I was in America I'd be very tempted to never holiday abroad- it's not like you're lacking in places to visit over there!

that's true, but once you've been to most major places here it gets old and you want something different. one reason is that it's very expensive to travel from here to say europe or other places abroad because of the distance. another is that typically, most who start working only start w/about 2-3 weeks of holiday time per year and if you're looking to travel abroad that far, then that's how long you'll want to stay, not just 5 days or something.

I went to the US (New Jersey) for a while in 2003, and some of the ignornance over there is just incredible... I had to bite my tongue on so many occasions, and eventually just accepted that that's what they're like. I went there without any real opinion of Americans having not met too many before, and came back not really wanting to meet too many again.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the US in general and especially my time in Texas, I've never experienced hospitality like it and would definitely go back to visit. It's just a completely different way of life over there and the feeling I got from some people was very much of the streotype, that they're gun-totin' cowboys who think the world begins and ends at the US border!

Before 1990 the union jack was associated with the England team. Look at any footage of the 66 World Cup final and all you'll see are union jacks.

Funnily enough, now England flags are acceptable at grounds but the union jack is associated with the far right elements (keep Britain British, etc), whereas 15 years ago it would have been St Georges cross.

Think Bosingwa will be rotation risk if Chelsea get the Benfica lad.

good comment i read re: Gray sacking

Let me get this right.Sky Sports, which brings us the scantily-clad Soccerettes on Soccer AM each week are getting rid of Andy Gray for being " sexist " ? Do any of these glamourous women on Sky Sports also believe they were hired simply for their extensive sporting knowledge ? That the Murdoch Group is responsible for Page 3 of The Sun and the sexually prurient News Of The World yet pontificates on " sexism " is hilarious. Perhaps the rumour that Andy Gray was planning to sue Murdoch due to his phone being hacked by the NOTW has more to do with Gray's dismissal.....

Everyone can have an opinion, but if it's likely to offend many people then you should really make sure no one's recording you or you pay the consequences.

I agree with the posts who say there's more to this than just this comment and the youtube clip (his colleague), but that doesn't make what him and Keys said right.

God I do hate these random, annoying, "rumour" posts that come out when you really don't want a player to play, or indeed if you do, while discounting them as rubbish you always think "but what if", b*stards giving me false hope about Berbatron being rested, which is highly unlikely I think.

+1, except I REALLY need Berb to play, in terms of my mini league.

      Currently 12 points behind with
      Stockdale
Rio (or Dawson's 5 points off the bench)
      Adam
      Berb

to play aganist his O' Shea and Rooney. Give Rafael back his place Fergie, and at the very least, play Berb!

Anyway it does not really matter that much, we are in the middle of the gameweek, its not like we can suddenly drop Berbatov or anything. If he plays brilliant, if he doesn't well, lemons, but this rumour would not have any effect whatsoever.

A slight bit disingenuous as you play the game of fixing labels to things that are already clearly established. Music of White Origin, is just a lame way of labelling music that are from white origins...we don't need some schmuck to come around and state the obvious. But when another race has co-opted so many elements of another race's musical genre as their own and shut out the other race's from popular discovery (see American radio from 1948-1968). Thank goodness for the Brits and their open airwaves to teach white Americans that Elvis, Pat Boone and Percy Faith (to name a few) were not creative at all.

Also, you don't have to be Black to recieve an MBOA...

His enthusiasm for the game was second to none, I liked the guy, Sky Sports won't be the same (let's hope he gets snapped up quickly), ya he was full of cliches and rubbish at the best of times, but he put a spark in the dullest of games with those Glaswegian tones.

Take a bow Andy Gray, tomorrow's another day.

            Easy. 25 x 9 x 2 is 450, add the 5 for 455. 6 - 5 = 1, take the one away from 455.

            Bring it on, Clark Carlisle.

i love the game too Johnny,it doesnt mean im not a C**T tho!, he got too cocky for his own good man,it was an inside job to oust him, leaked tapes everywhere!, he's obviously a complete muppet to work with.
His enthusiasm was second to none i agree but his attitude to people is pants

that's very true, probably just an excuse to get rid of dead wood - if sky didn't want to lose him, nowhere hear as many of those comments would've seen the light of day. also this way i'm sure if will cost sky alot less to sack him

    Grey quotes:

"All footballers who take recreational drugs should be hammered"

"For my money, Duff servicing people from the left with his balls in there is the best option"

"There are a lot of tired legs wearing Tottenham shirts."

"I was saying the other day, how often the most vulnerable area for goalies is between their legs."

"I don't like to see players tossed off needlessly!"

I just read that Kingosn is cleared to play.

I hope he plays as I could use the precious 3 pts he'll give me from 8 saves, yet allows Berbs to slip 2 past.
