Where did it all go wrong?

Mark claims I should be fined by the FPL for fielding an understrength side for the last few weeks. Cheeky! I just put it down to ‘dark forces at work’, not my fault at all.

So a disastrous double game week for me, then, whilst wildcard-wielding Mark ‘smashed it’, and our rivalry has turned on its head yet again.

Up for discussion today is not the offside rule, but the case for Dimitar Berbatov.

I’m off to the Fantasy Island for a bit of soul searching and I’m bringing no one with me. Enjoy your Dzeko time Mark. Interesting that he stated that he always wanted to come to this island despite having never heard of it.

    Although it may seem a bit of a ridiculous question- I'm actually wondering whether lionel messi could be as prolific in the PL as he is in la liga? Reckon he wouldn't fancy a cold night in stoke or blackburn- plus so many of his goals come off the back of xavi or iniesta.

    Basically what I'm wondering is if he could be as successful as Ronaldo was in the English game.......

    While waiting for the conclusion of Torres, I'm thinking about who to play this GW. Do I get the right bench?

    Am I the only person who's desperately hoping that the Arsenal-Tottenham game isn't rescheduled so that it can still take place in Gameweek 28?

    I'm one of those lucky souls who are still sitting on their original wildcards - and I had fostered a plan to use it in week 28, giving me all those fantastic double gameweek players like VDV, Nasri, Fabregas, Van Persie, etc, and then transferring a couple of them out on the wildcard so that I'm sitting pretty on the following week as well.

      Annoying in that people still keep asking it despite it a) it being explained clearly in the rules-which are not that hard to find and don't take too long to read, and b) has been asked on here loads of times.

    What happens if one has the maximum 3 players from the same team and a fourth player is real-life transferred to that same team?

    The rule says "You can select up to 3 players from any one team. If a player is transferred during the season and this transfer takes you over this limit, then you will need to go back under the limit when making your next transfers."

    But I am confused by the phrase "when making your next transfers". If I don't make any transfers, can I keep the player until I do? Or does it really mean that you have to transfer one of the players out by the next gameweek? If so, what happens if you don't?

      You can keep 4 if you don't make any transfers.

      I know some teams that have 4 Man City players right now after Milner moved from Villa.

        Damn Kids have woken me up. They've all had this virus too. Wife still in bed as well so I had to get up and feed the little monsters!

    Listened to Focus pundits discuss Torres transfer situation and now feeling the situation is probably worse than I thought..

    Did he (Torres) really say he wants to be out by Monday? But if he stays, would Kenny still play him to Stoke?

          I think you either play it now because you're worried that price rises during the next 7 days will make it impossible for you to get the wildcard team you want.

          Or, you wait until you were planning to do it anyway, which was GW27.

          If you think about it, it's not that long till you get to wildcard. GW27 comes into play at 11:30 GMT next Saturday. It's 2 gameweeks time, but in real terms it's only 7 days away.

          In my opinion it's worth waiting until GW27 now, if you can afford the odd price rise or two in the meantime.

    WC ready for GW26 or GW27?

    I was going to use it for GW27 (final chance), but if I use it GW26, I can save a transfer and have 2 for GW28 where it'll be useful to have them.

    Current team:
    Foster / Krul
    Vidic Simpson Coleman Konchesky Kol
    Nani Adam VDV NZog Yaya
    Rooney Varney Torres

    I can see around 7-8 that I'd take out, leaving the likes of Foster, Coleman, VDV, Nani, Adam(unless he moves).

        Yes mate Konch is def coming out for Kelly, for sure.

        GW26 is looking more likely now. Another plus, is that the likes of Tevez and RVP can come in.

        I've been pretty unlucky as I brought Varney in instead of DJ - thinking Varney was better value at the time and more sure of a starting role, and same with Rooney - Berb... expecting red nose to 'rest' Berbatov for 1 game.

      I hear a lot of people talking about wildcarding in GW26 so they can save 2 freebies for GW28.

      Now, I understand that concept. However, what I don't get is that, if you are transferring two players out in GW28 you are almost certainly taking out 2 players from good teams who have no fixtures in GW28.

      But you won't have 2 free transfers in GW29 so you won't be able to get both players back at the same time anyway.

      Maybe I'm missing something here, no?

      I'm bringing in Odem this week for Torres, then 3-5-2 with Odem and Rooney before WC kicks off on Tuesday.

      I'd consider WC for GW26 instead, you'll then have 2 freebies for GW28 if you save a transfer over GW27. Something to ponder.

        cheers! Downgrading tevez or fabs would make my whole team much stronger overall, and i think you are right, that dzeko will be closer to tevez points than nasri or walcott will be to fabregas'

    hi guys, what advice would you have for the following team?

    Hart (Al-Habsi)
    Evra, Toure, Hangeland (Coleman, Evatt)
    Nani, VDV, Nasri, Adam (Nolan)
    Tevez, DJ Campbell, Berbatov

    got 0.3 in the bank and 1 free transfer
    i was thinking of bringing in RVP for Tevez, or a Chelsea defender, or saving up by bringing in dempsey or someone for nasri

    GW28, neither Brum nor Arsenal will be playing.

    Therefore, if you own Foster, Fabs, RVP and another Brum/Arse player (maybe Djourou?) that's only 11 left.

    Certainly food for thought.

            It makes playing WC GW26 and having 2 transfers even more important I think.

            The question is, who can you transfer out from those teams, with no urgency to bring back in.

            They are all very important.

              But it would be nice to have a plan to field 11 and cover both bases.

              I'm sure there's a way. Foster and VDV can't go as I'd lose too much getting them back.

    Djokovic is definitely looking the better. Murray always gets wound up to easily, especially about little things. Not confident now hes lost the first set, but you never know.

    Some Daniel posted this on Fantasytools,

    Arsenal fixtures:

    * 12th Feb - Wolves (GW27)
    * 16th Feb - Barcelona
    * 19th Feb - FA Cup 5th Round
    * 22nd Feb - Stoke (GW27)
    * 27th Feb - Carling cup Final
    * 1st March/2nd March - No Fixture Planned
    * 5th March - Sunderland (GW29)
    * 8th March - Barcelona
    * 12th March - FA Cup 6th Round

    So as you can see there is a spare slot on 1st March/2nd March for a fixture. Now if Arsenal or Tottenham get to the 5th round and draw their game this would mean this Date would be for the replay so Arsenal Vs Tottenham will not happen in GW28. If they don't have to face a replay the game could happen. I must stress this is not definite. It as something that could happen as Chelsea Vs Manchester United is on March 1st so they could easily put Arsenal Vs Tottenham there.

    I think we still have hope!

        Maybe after FA cup 5th round? That would mean it's already GW27 and you'd have to take a risk and guess whether it's on or not.
