634x258 The Stock Check

A disappointing Monday night affair saw Southampton dominate the opening period, only to concede ground in the second-half as Everton gained superiority. With little on show for Fantasy managers, here’s the Monday night Stock Check…

On the Up

The Southampton Defence
A second clean sheet in the last three maintained the form of the much-improved Saints rearguard. With Artur Boruc making several key saves, he is presenting a seemingly assured budget option in goal for a 4.4 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) price tag, while both Luke Shaw and Nathaniel Clyne go on offering value for their 4.0 valuations.

Leighton Baines
In truth, the service from the Toffees left-back was not up to its usual standard but, having gained his second consecutive clean sheet, Baines delivered returns and, pre-bonus, is now just six points of the top of the FPL defender rankings. With West Brom and Villa at Goodison in the next two, further profits look on the cards for those who have kept the faith.

Going Down

Marouane Fellaini
It’s no goal in his last five starts for the towering Belgian. More significantly perhaps, the injury to Seamus Coleman forced a reshuffle that saw David Moyes shift him back to a deeper central midfield role and introduce Victor Anichebe up front. With Kevin Mirallas looking bright from the bench on his return from injury, Moyes has further attacking options and there will be slight concerns that the Everton boss may consider a change of position for Felliani having seen his side draw consecutive blanks.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Can't be asked with this power 5 love anymore. Thoughts? I think Fletcher will go on a great run and hope that Aguero finally steps up.

    WC Team:

    Mignolet, Rudd

    Zabaleta, Gibbs, Davies, Bramble, Harte

    Mata, Bale, Fellaini, Walcott, Kebe

    RVP, Aguero, Fletcher

As I progress I can downgrade Aguero and Fletcher to Sturridge + Pog, to do Kebe to Silva. That's if I'm dissatisfied with my attack's performance.

If you don't want to rotate keepers why not De Gea? Only 0.2m more than Mignolet and Man Utd are starting to look better at the back.

I agree with you so much which is the only thing about this draft that really upsets me. I simply have no money left and have to make serious compromises in attack to get DDG.

In that case I'd be tempted to do:
            Zaba to Nasty for 0.4
            Gibbs to Dawson for 1m
            Upgrade Bramble with the remainder

How comes? Zaba and Gibbs have fantastic attacking threat and Arsenal have good fixtures. Bramble + 1.4m doesn't give any outstanding options in defence (5.7m).

P.s thanks for helping me out!

Oh. In that case you could keep Gibbs and just upgrade Bramble to Dawson?

I prefer picking defenders based on their clean sheet potential so I prefer the cheaper option from the same team. Also, I think Zaba might be more prone to rotation than Nasty.

Alternatively, you could just do Bramble to Demel/Clyne/Shaw/Wilson if you wanted to keep Zab. I don't think Bramble is going to play much with Mangane there now.

I like the idea of getting a cheap option, Shaw looks like he's got decent attacking threat. I guess I'll buy him and keep Puncheon (who I currently have as I haven't implemented my draft yet)! Dude thank you so much!

it would be better to get Silva now plus pog , if you only going do them anyway.

Might also be too soon for Aguero , hes hardly played lately , and cold weather and hamstrings dont mix

I don't wanna drop Fletcher from my WC draft so it'd be Aguero + Kebe out and Silva + Pog in. The latter feels far less explosive for me tbh (even if it leaves extra cash to upgrade Bramble)

Thats what im thinking, but he is also looking even more lethal at Chelsea. The thing is if Ba gets rested, and Chelsea are winning the match, then he might not get brought on, hopefully ill have a good enough first sub to cover for that. Not keen on only having one big hitter up front though.

Despite his pricetag i believe Patrice Evra is worth the coin ... he's always involved in set plays, is a beast on the headers and Man United will come home with wet sails ... he'll start racking up the cleanies and will leave Baines in his wake.

Very insecure ... his cousin Kyle Naughton will probably start most games although Spurs have Vertonghen coming back from illness and BAE coming back from injury. I'd monitor for now!
