634x258 The Stock Check

A disappointing Monday night affair saw Southampton dominate the opening period, only to concede ground in the second-half as Everton gained superiority. With little on show for Fantasy managers, here’s the Monday night Stock Check…

On the Up

The Southampton Defence
A second clean sheet in the last three maintained the form of the much-improved Saints rearguard. With Artur Boruc making several key saves, he is presenting a seemingly assured budget option in goal for a 4.4 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) price tag, while both Luke Shaw and Nathaniel Clyne go on offering value for their 4.0 valuations.

Leighton Baines
In truth, the service from the Toffees left-back was not up to its usual standard but, having gained his second consecutive clean sheet, Baines delivered returns and, pre-bonus, is now just six points of the top of the FPL defender rankings. With West Brom and Villa at Goodison in the next two, further profits look on the cards for those who have kept the faith.

Going Down

Marouane Fellaini
It’s no goal in his last five starts for the towering Belgian. More significantly perhaps, the injury to Seamus Coleman forced a reshuffle that saw David Moyes shift him back to a deeper central midfield role and introduce Victor Anichebe up front. With Kevin Mirallas looking bright from the bench on his return from injury, Moyes has further attacking options and there will be slight concerns that the Everton boss may consider a change of position for Felliani having seen his side draw consecutive blanks.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Apart from RVP, Who is United 2nd best choice to get cover for (Midfield or Attack)? Don't really want to invest in there defense as it's been poor all season.

Yeah. Seems to be ignored by most people. He's clearly benefitting from Ferguson's desire to score more. They've definitely worked on set pieces a lot. Also, he has more goals and points than Silva.

Nani just coming back but not fully fit. Could be worth a punt soon. Valencia off form. Young maybe, unless hes injured? There really isnt anyone in the midfield at the moment. Might be better off with Rooney or Hernandez but Hernandez wont play every week.

West Ham is still a better defensive team than Soton despite Soton's recent displays at the back.
WHU fixtures are better as well.

However Demel could get rotated once Big Sam signs a new fullback.

Home or away, you are never sure what STH are going to do when compared with, STK at home, say.

Had a look at him and he gets fwd but I think there are 5 better ubers out there. I'm currently considering:

Wisdom, Cuellar, Harte, Demel and Davies for the w/c next week.

Im sure Lambert and Puncheon have been discussed already this evening (minus the 'he shits when he waaaaaaaaaaaaaant's' part), but I don't feel like looking back.

These two really jump out at me....FINALLY.....after today!!

Does anyone have both of them and are you planning on holding?

I reckon I could have one hell of a defence with those two. 2 or 3 of Bale, Mata, Walcott, Fellaini and MIchu....RVP.

What are you talking about? All I am saying is Puncheon to go with 2 or 3 of the bit hitters, and then Lambert to sit up front with RVP and Aguero, or RVP and Ba or something similar.

        ?

Just saying for 5m and 6.4(whatever Lamb is), that represents two great spots, and two great spots that I haven't given much of a chance to all season.

Bale to Punch and Ba to Lambert (not that that is something I would necessarily do just yet), would free money up to create a formidable squad!

They're both great value, but i'd question whether now is the time to bring them in given their tough run of fixtures coming up.... Fletcher or Benteke over Lambert in that price range for me if getting one in this week.... Puncheon is worth holding on to, even if he,s your 8th attacker each week.

Would anyone dare to bench Lambert (mun) in favour of playing Harte (CHE), Sterling (ars) or Demel (ful)?

I'm in the position where I'm actually 0.1 off the WC squad I want.

Am I likely to make the 0.1 off Lukaku, Harte or De Guzman?

I think the centre firward / wing forward position isnt of much relevance Walcott will score playing either position his problem in the past has been gametime...no longer appears to be an issue.

What are people's early views on N'Diaye???

He looked mighty impressive this weekend. Wigan at home granted, he could and should have scored with his head, he assisted Fletchers 2nd, and seemed to be everywhere. Going with Tevez up front and N'Diaye in mid I can get Sunderland and City coverage up front. Silva and Fletcher is a no go, and there is no other of our midfield that I would want right now (milner maybe as A MASSIVE PUNT).

    Vorm
    Gibbs Zabaleta Rafael
    N'Diaye Michu Mata Walcott Fellaini
    RVP Tevez

    Quite like that.
