Glen Johnson, Jose Enrique and Pepe Reina are all available for Liverpool’s trip to the Emirates on Wednesday. Vincent Kompany is set to be sidelined for around two to three weeks according to David Platt, while City’s defence was dealt another blow by the news that Matija Nastasic is a doubt for tomorrow’s trip to QPR due to a knee problem.

Carlos Cuellar, Danny Rose and Lee Cattermole are unlikely to return for Sunderland’s home clash with Swansea, though Martin O’Neill will assess the trio tomorrow. Seb Bassong and Steven Whittaker are both available for Norwich, bolstering the Canaries’ backline ahead of Tottenham’s visit on Wednesday evening.

Adam Lallana may be involved for Southampton at United, while new boy Vegard Forren could be set for a debut at centre-half. Fabian Delph is a doubt for Villa with the ankle injury that forced him off at Millwall in the FA Cup on Friday evening, though Nathan Baker is expected to return. Harry Redknapp has revealed Shaun Wright-Phillips and Junior Hoilett are doubts for QPR, while Bobby Zamora seems set for a bench spot as he builds up his fitness.

Alan Pardew confirmed earlier that Moussa Sissoko will start for Newcastle against Villa but admitted he has “tough decisions to make elsewhere” as he looks to integrate a number of new signings.

      Even though you may lose TV, I'd move sterling on... Rather have a bench warmer that plays every game so he can come in where necessary. I'd go Puncheon

        That's the option I'm considering, however need to use whoever I bring in instead of Puncheon, otherwise the transfer will serve no purpose.

      Striker cover, lord we've needed it. You need one striker in form at all times to keep winning games, so that's how the biggest clubs end up with three or four big ones on their books.     I think it could well be time for Bale captain. RVP is RVP but Soton have made great strides in recent weeks and are now a tight unit and aggressive defensively.
