Liverpool serve up a belated double Gameweek treat against a much-changed Swansea side at Anfield. Luis Suarez, Jose Enrique, Daniel Sturridge and Steven Gerrard are the main protagonists, while Michu’s owners are left frustrated as the Spaniard warms the visitors’ bench for the entire 90 minutes:

On the Up

Luis Suarez
The Uruguayan ran amok against a second-string Swansea to deliver a goal and pair of assists in the 5-0 rout. Daniel Sturridge’s arrival had raised concerns over Suarez’s Fantasy prospects but it’s clear he is just as consistent alongside the former Chelsea man and has now scored in three of their four starts together.

Steven Gerrard
Those who handed the Liverpool skipper the armband would’ve been holding their breath as he stepped up to take the first-half spot kick. While Gerrard atoned for his penalty miss against West Brom on Monday to slot past Michel Vorm, suffice to say his decision to hand Daniel Sturridge Liverpool’s second spot-kick of the afternoon did not go down too kindly with his owners.

Daniel Sturridge
Having provided an assist, his haul was surprisingly boosted by Gerrard’s decision to step aside for the second penalty. Sturridge subsequently slotted home and has now produced four goals and a pair of assists in just five appearances for the Reds, with attacking returns in each of his appearances.

Jose Enrique
A goal and assist contribution supplemented a clean sheet as the raiding left-back racked up 16 points, pre-bonus for the Gameweek. With an ownership of less than 5%, Enrique has turned out to be crucial differential for the double.

Philippe Coutinho
Handed a first start since joining the club from Inter last month, the young Brazilian notched his side’s second to suggest he could be a real mid-price option if he can nail down a regular role. Coming in at 6.5 in FPL, Coutinho is likely to receive new interest once the blank Gameweek 27 is past, given Liverpool’s kind run of fixtures.

Going Down

Swansea Squad Rotation
With next weekend’s Capital One Cup final in mind, Michael Laudrup took the opportunity to hand many of his second-string a chance to impress. While today’s result will be hugely frustrating for Michu owners after the Spaniard warmed the bench, it’s fair to say that Laudrup is unlikely to make the same mistake again – today’s display highlighted Swansea lack of strength in depth in spectacular style.

Fabio Borini
The Italian last just eight minutes after replacing Suarez as a sub late on in the second-half. Borini was ushered off with a shoulder injury and post-match comments attributed to his manager suggest a possible dislocation which would rule him out for the rest of the season.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Nice, monster week for you, great stuff.. Gets tough at this level now, 92 this week and a red arrow with no hits 🙄 . Alright, I'll fill you in ;), had always planned Gerrard->Bale and Davies or GJ to Wilson, but decided to get rid of Suarez for Aguero the other night to avoid a price drop and get a bit of a differential. GJ-> Wilson also leaves me with all 4.0 defenders and a 4.0 keeper, which is always fun, but Demel will become JEvans next week I think...

          Thanks, wow that's a tough break, 92!! 😯

What a great week and a red arrow...maybe I'm not going to enjoy it so high up here where we are 🙂

So you got in Aguero, Bale and Wilson, nice transfers. You're going to hate me now if I get in Aguero! I'm still mulling over whether to switch out Michu or Suarez...it's a tough one and I'm going to need a few days to decide. I like the look of Jevans for the run in. All round good transfers, wish you the best this week. I'm pondering a cheeky Bale(c) 😉

Wow, this is going to be a big tournament! TW hasn't fully confirmed whether he'll go with my suggestion but I was thinking of giving everyone a country to represent to make it a bit like the world cup. Bit cheesy but seeing as people from the same countries are teaming up it might be fun...for the mixed partners (with TW's permission of course) we could pick teams from a hat. Working on it at the moment to see if he'll like the idea.

I'm far from being what you would call a passionate football fan, I'm not even that much of a fan of football really and usually have a que sera sera attitude to results.

Spent all week looking forward to the Swans giving it a real go against their ex-manager, especially with it being at Anfield, and rubbing his nose in it on the eve of the Cap One final. Then the exact opposite happens.

Yesterdays result has really got to me.

The rotation was a big surprise to me too Katie.

Don't take it too much to heart, it makes some sense if they had the odd strain or tiredness to focus on a cup final that will give them European football next season, should they win it.

The Spanish contingent will love it and the club, I think would be more attractive to more players.
      Not to mention the money.

As a new poster, I seek some wisdom from the DZ...

Top GW for me, cracked the 5K. At the same time my plans are in a mess...

Going into GW with Michu/Suarez, plan was too sell Michu (out of form...), 18pts reminded me why this may not be such a good idea. New plan to sell Suarez (playing wider / deeper), now 15pts + continued consistency for Suarez alongside Sturridge gives me a dilemma. I bought Michu at 6.6 and suarez at 9.4 so selling either is a one way decision unless I restructure my team a little down the track

I have 2FT, 0.2 in the bank. Options as I see them
    1) Michu to Sissouko / Taarabt (and ultimately Fellaini post GW29)
    2) Suarez to Cisse / Benteke / Lambert, would then get Sturridge in for Fletcher GW28
    3) Keep both, play with 6 attackers.

Unfortunately my defence is a mess (what was I thinking with Bertrand in my WC) and I currently only have Zabaletta likely to play, plan is Bertrand to Wilson with my second transfer and hope Demel plays

    Full team
    Mignolet (Federici)
    Zabaletta, Bertrand, Demel (Enrique, Davies)
    Bale, Mata, Walcott, Puncheon (Michu)
    RVP, Fletcher (Suarez)

    Thoughts anyone?

Bertrand and Enrique to Evans and Wilson
      Then play:
      Federici
      Zaba, Evans, Demel, Wilson
      Bale, Walcott, Mata, Puncheon
      RVP, Fletcher

Thanks for your replies (even you Gaz), looks like noone is advocating dropping Michu, probably a good suggestion so boils down to lose Suarez and get Sturridge later or drop enrique and get a decent defender for the GW

Hey Billy, I just sent the email now. I was just wondering if you like the idea of giving the Doubles tournament a world cup theme with each doubles team representing a country?

Some of them are obvious (like Pork Pie + Count representing Scotland for example) But where they overlap (mainly India/England) these doubles teams could pick a country to represent. It could be for whatever reason they choose and it could be a bit of fun. What do you think? It'd certainly make it easier to identify each team if they had a country.

Demel, Shaw, and Marveaux doubtful or likely to see limited action.
Possible blanks for GW 29 - RVP, Fellaini, Mata, Walcott, Cole, and Demel

DZ.....need some help Need to take a hit to field 11 this week. Also need to take a hit to bring in Bale.

    Which option is best?

    Mignlotet/Federici
    Zabaleta/Cameron/Enrique/Harte/Davies
    Mata/Walcott/Michu/Gerrard/Puncheon
    RVP/Sturridge/Lambert

    1. Davies & Gerrard > Wilson & Bale GW27 (Keep Enrique and double up stoke defender for 1 week)
0.4 in bank for GW28 and no Jevans.
    2. Enrique & Gerrard > Wilson & Bale GW27 (Lose Enrique and double up stoke defender for 1 week with the option to get in Jevans in 28)
    Cameron>Jevans GW 28
