Liverpool serve up a belated double Gameweek treat against a much-changed Swansea side at Anfield. Luis Suarez, Jose Enrique, Daniel Sturridge and Steven Gerrard are the main protagonists, while Michu’s owners are left frustrated as the Spaniard warms the visitors’ bench for the entire 90 minutes:

On the Up

Luis Suarez
The Uruguayan ran amok against a second-string Swansea to deliver a goal and pair of assists in the 5-0 rout. Daniel Sturridge’s arrival had raised concerns over Suarez’s Fantasy prospects but it’s clear he is just as consistent alongside the former Chelsea man and has now scored in three of their four starts together.

Steven Gerrard
Those who handed the Liverpool skipper the armband would’ve been holding their breath as he stepped up to take the first-half spot kick. While Gerrard atoned for his penalty miss against West Brom on Monday to slot past Michel Vorm, suffice to say his decision to hand Daniel Sturridge Liverpool’s second spot-kick of the afternoon did not go down too kindly with his owners.

Daniel Sturridge
Having provided an assist, his haul was surprisingly boosted by Gerrard’s decision to step aside for the second penalty. Sturridge subsequently slotted home and has now produced four goals and a pair of assists in just five appearances for the Reds, with attacking returns in each of his appearances.

Jose Enrique
A goal and assist contribution supplemented a clean sheet as the raiding left-back racked up 16 points, pre-bonus for the Gameweek. With an ownership of less than 5%, Enrique has turned out to be crucial differential for the double.

Philippe Coutinho
Handed a first start since joining the club from Inter last month, the young Brazilian notched his side’s second to suggest he could be a real mid-price option if he can nail down a regular role. Coming in at 6.5 in FPL, Coutinho is likely to receive new interest once the blank Gameweek 27 is past, given Liverpool’s kind run of fixtures.

Going Down

Swansea Squad Rotation
With next weekend’s Capital One Cup final in mind, Michael Laudrup took the opportunity to hand many of his second-string a chance to impress. While today’s result will be hugely frustrating for Michu owners after the Spaniard warmed the bench, it’s fair to say that Laudrup is unlikely to make the same mistake again – today’s display highlighted Swansea lack of strength in depth in spectacular style.

Fabio Borini
The Italian last just eight minutes after replacing Suarez as a sub late on in the second-half. Borini was ushered off with a shoulder injury and post-match comments attributed to his manager suggest a possible dislocation which would rule him out for the rest of the season.

        Cheers.

After the transfers, my squad would be:

        Bego, Jussi
        Rafael, Bassong, Fabio, Clyne, Mariappa
        Mata, Walcott, Michu, Bale, Punch
        RVP, Suarez, Lambert

Too light on defense or front 8 make up for it?

    Need some thoughts deadzone please.

Have Sturridge and Suarez, and thinking of selling 1.

Can currently field 11 if I hold them

    Fed (WIG)

    Harte (WIG)
    Demel (TOT)
    Clark (ars)
    Onuoha (MUFC)

    Mata (city)
    Bale (whu)
    Walcott (AVL)
    Fellaini (nor)
    Punch (new)

    RVP (qpr)

    My options are

    1. Hold both for Wigan away gw 28 and keep 2 free transfers for possible blanks in gw 29
    2. Sell Suarez for Giroud or Cisse and swap back next week
    3. Sell Suarez for Cisse for good
    4. Sell Sturridge for Lukaku

    Thanks in advance folks

      2. For Cisse because no blank possible. I reckon you will want to sell him for good. the 3.0 million is enough to incentive to have sturridge over Suarez for the rest of the season. He should cover most of his points.

Do you have enough in the bank for Suarez -> Aguero?

If so, i'd do that, otherwise i'd get Giroud or Cisse, unless you got Suarez very cheap.

no i don't have enough for that, would have been easy if that's the case.

Will lose 0.2 on Suarez if I sell now at current price, but if he drops again before the deadline it will only be 0.1 so that doesn't matter to me.

I know it's stupid o-clock on a Sunday (at least in England), but my front 8 is:

    Mata Walcott Bale Fella Kebe
    RVP Suarez Studge

I'm taking Suarez out this gameweek because of an agreement with my rival (he can't have RVP, and I can't have Suarez or Baines).

    Question is...

    A) Kebe & Aguero
    or
    B) Michu & Lambert

Will do Suarez out this GW, then Kebe out next if I decide on B.

If you do B you will have a tough decision every week of who to bench then, and I reckon every second week you will bench a player who will score more than at least 1 of your front 8.

For Me its Aguero, and Kebe a nice sub with nice fixtures

    Morning all,

Another DGW success all round then!

You guys see any better moves to my team this week than Enrique & Suarez -> JEvans & Aguero (4 points)

This gives me 10 likely starters, with the hope that one of Demel or Marveaux plays some part to give me 11.

    Szczesny
    Turner, Harte, Demel
    Bale, Walcott, Fellaini, Mata, Marveaux
    RVP

    Bunn, Suarez, Sturridge, Enrique, Davies

I think JEvans could definitely be subject tosome rotation with all the CBs fit and the CL and Fa cup games coming up

davies -> wilson could be a good shout, although id probably ditch Demel if doing that trade (unless O'Brien is ruled out this week)

Hey guys, I really can't decide who to get between Santon and Debuchy..

Who is the better option/more nailed on/more attacking threat.

I am leaning towards Debuchy because he is a right footed player playing on the right while Santon is a right footed player playing on the left so Debuchy would have more chance for assist from crosses.

Please tell me what you guys think.

    Thanks! 🙂

Talking at work today and a colleague mentioned that Kallis' dismisal in the 1st innings v PAK was v contentious.

Apparently the 3 rd ump was looking at a possible catch and ended up giving him out...LBW...which they are not allowed to do. Anyone heard of this?

Yeah the ICC even apologized for the mistake in using technology. Don't know where the apology was when hotspot kept screwing us over in the first test. Once the 3rd ump couldn't see an obvious nick on hotspot and gave not out.

The Kallis dismissal was similar to Younis Khans. The batsman nicked it onto the pad, the ball carried to the keeper, fielders went up for the leg before, but was ultimately given out caught behind by the third umpire.

          Sounds dodgy...

It should depend on what the appeal was for. If they were appealing for caught then the third umpire should only be looking at whether it was out caught.

Would have to check the rules to be sure.

Nelsen was the glue holding that shambles together. Swansea demolished them in a big way. Any other week RvP vs QPR is a captaincy gimme. But I do take your point on possible rotation.

Looking for some initial thoughts here..Big decisions to make..

Have Suarez GJ Studge Gaston Demel as the people i probably wanna loose..1 FT..
Looking at maybe getting 1 or 2 new strikers..

    Hold on to Sturridge/Studge?
Looking at maybe getting Kun+Cisse for both of them(can afford exactly that) with 0.0 to spare..
Lambert and Giroud are the other strikers on my mind..

Tough decisions to make. Currently 47th so differentials will make a difference helping me climb that table..Need to watch MOTD but early thoughts? Crucial crucial stage in the season..Feeling the pressure..

Sturridge will make up for whatever Suarez does and every other guy has suarez so Aguero could be a nice differential. Can't really see Cisse exploding imho.Might be Sissoko who becomes this season's Cisse

I dont have your pressure but I went early on the transfers last week in fact and did Suarez > Aguero.

Was glad to see him get two in the cup he looked sharp. His low ownership was a big selling point for me.

I see a lot of opinions on here people say no way to Kun Aguero but yes to Cisse beggars belief in my opinion. You dont become a bad team or player over night Aguero will finish with a flourish.

I see major points in those fixtures. You can get Suarez back if Kun fails.

    @ Lateriser12.....regarding your strategy.

Just had a look at those above you. Noticed that the VAST majority of them do not have their WC.

if there were to be a multiple DGW.....Imagine a team of

    Howard
    Baines/Azpi/Sagna
    Mata/Hazzard/Walcott/Fellaini
    Berba/Giroud/Whoever

for DGW.....that is all the differential you need.

This would be worth a 20-30 pt advantage.

I'm leaning towards Aguero myself. Can't afford Shrek, I just don't see Cisse justifying his price. Lambert/Lukaku/Benteke will all match him IMO.

    my team atm:

    bego
    zaba,enrique,onouha,davies,bertrand
    bale,mata,michu,taarabt,guthrie
    rvp,aguero,sturridge

    thinking of doing michu+davies -> walcott+harte for a hit...YAY or NAY???

    that wud make my team
    ------------bego-------------
    zaba----enrique---harte
    wally-bale-mata-taarabt
    rvp----aguero---sturridge

and my captain choices for 27 and 28 will be walcott and bale respectively!!!
or shud i go for any other choices???
