Scout League entrants continue to push for the top prize in the Sky Sports game, with Pascal Evans’ twin assault on the top prize now in full swing. We doff our caps to the leading runners and riders, examine the latest movements in the game’s transfer market and look ahead to the latest episode of the show that brings Fantasy Football to our TV screens…

The Scout League

Pascal Evans’ reign at the top of the Scout League continues as he stretches his legs and gains an eight-point advantage over Simon Davis’ “Nags Head Rovers” in second. What’s extraordinary about Evans’ consistency this term is that both his teams are now in our top six, behind the likes of Lewis Nicklen, Chris Pearce and Paul McAnulty – all former leaders.

Evans’ “Covport2” now sits in fourth in the overall standings but the gap to the top has narrowed, somewhat – he is now just 73 points behind in the race for the £25k top prize. Given his momentum right now, you wouldn’t bet against him closing further in the coming weeks.

With Evans’ two entries amongst the eight teams in the top 20, the Scout League is just over 15 points ahead in the Private League rankings.

In terms of the contributors, my Sky Sports campaign has been boosted of late, lifting me into the top 200 with a 35th spot ranking in the Scout League, to make me the current leading contributor on 1480 points.

A reminder that if you’re playing the Sky Sports game and have yet to join our league, you can sign up to the FFScout League with this Pin: 8004519. We have a home cinema system, worth £600, available to the winner.

Market Trends

Robin Van Persie’s goal and assist returns in the win over Everton were enough to reinstate him in the Fantasy thinking, ensuring that the Dutchman has been the most transferred in player this week. Almost 37% of transfers have involved the acquisition of Van Persie, following several weeks where we’ve seen the trend lean the other way after he produced a couple of blanks. Indeed, there were still almost 20% of transfers made this week that saw Van Persie sold on, although it’s clear that confidence has been restored somewhat following the haul against the Toffees. Van Persie remains within 47% of squads in this game.

Luis Suarez has felt the pinch in terms of ownership ahead of Liverpool’s blank Gameweek. Despite fetching handsome returns in the rout of Swansea last time out, the Uruguayan has been party to 40% of the transfers out made this week. While 26% of transfers have seen Suarez acquired, there’s a clear loss of ownership in evidence, with the trade back to Van Persie seemingly a popular route.

Significantly, however, based on form over the last four Gameweeks, Suarez remains strong: he has scored 30 points over that period in the Sky Sports game, a total only matched amongst the forwards by Wayne Rooney. Daniel Sturridge lies fifth in those form rankings, with 23 points from his last four Gameweeks – a factor which is perhaps convincing Suarez owners to cash in. With 20.5 points per million, however, Suarez remains the top value striker in the game.

Mirroring trends in the Fantasy Premier League game, Gareth Bale has attracted plenty of interest from Sky Sports managers, with over 16% of transfers in seeing the Welshman signed up in the last seven days – more than any other midfielder. Surprisingly, Bale’s ownership is still simmering at just about the 15% mark. Bale is the most in-form player in the game based on the last four Gameweeks – collecting no less than 36 points in that spell, four points ahead of Newcastle’s Moussa Sissoko.

The Fantasy Football Club – Tonight 10pm

Batten down the hatches: midfield bad boy, Lee Bowyer, is the latest signing for the Fantasy Football Club. He’ll be joining Fenners and Merse in the changing room for tonight’s show at 10pm on Sky Sports One. A reminder that, if you miss the show this evening, you can view a repeat on Sky Sports Two at 9am the following morning.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

You've probably got two of the best at those prices and if they are 75% might be worth just sticking. If you want a cheeky punt could go for Rodriguez, good form over last few games

    Theoretically, which makes more sense?

    - Using a FT now to swap out Davies to field 11 this week, despite (by my reckoning) gaining approx 3 points over the 3 weeks. This would mean potentially banking £0.1-0.6m

    - Not using a FT now, field 10, miss out on the (approximate) 3 points and saving it for a future gameweek (perhaps to improve the way I can navigate the GW29 blanks)

That "3 points" assumes my replacement (perhaps Wilson or Cuellar) actually plays this weekend.

The more I think about it, the more I'm heading down that route.

Selling Davies for Wilson or Cuellar who have away fixtures and aren't certain to start (a likely 1-2 points, barring a lucky goal/assist) seems pointless.

Yeah its no point since we dont know anything abt cuellar's situation yet and wilson might not start plus both play away games. 2FT's in the coming weeks could be a huge advantage, and not many have that privilege ATM!

      I think a 0.6m profit is optimistic!

3 points is nothing compared to what you can gain with a couple of FTs to field a half decent team in GW29.

In theory, I could do the Davies out transfer and still field 11 for GW29, even with all the potential blanks, but that leaves all my transfers spoken for and therefore assumes I have no injuries.

        The £0.6 refers to Davies (£4.5m) > Wilson (£3.9m)

So everyone keeps saying, but if the 11th player is more than likely to get 1-2 points this week and I am likely to gain a total 3 points over the next 6 weeks, isn't that a waste of a free transfer, especially with blanks in 2 weeks?

something for toughts as i see it asked many times

debate to field 10 or take a hit to field 11

if u field 10 players and u dont take a 4pt hit, you are losing 2pts (on average for every palyer fielded) compared to other players fielding 11 players

if u take a 4 pt hit to filed 11 players, then you are losing 4 pts from your score, but u should get 2pts(on average for every palyer fielded) in return from the player u select to transfer it, thus losing again 2 pts

any thoughts? am i missing something?

    LATEST FROM THE STREET NEWS:

Just walked past Rooney at Macclesfield train station. He got on the train to London I just got off.

He was wearing ManU gear so looks to be heading south for QPR tomorrow.

I said "Alright Wayne", and he smiled and nodded.

Right, I genuinely can't decide between Walcott and RVP. I'm going out after work and doubt I'll be back/online before the deadline, so have little time left.

With that in mind, this is what it's come down to...it's a coin toss.

I'll make it slightly interactive - someone decide on who's heads and who's tails.

With the pileup of fixtures for United and blanks for many big teams. Id maybe look to go cheap and get Wilson. I personally got Steven Taylor in for his good run of fixtures over the next 6 and I think he is due a goal, but I admit that it is a bit of a punt. Dawson is also an option if you dont have your WC and you want someone long term as his short term fixtures are pretty poor.

Can't bring in Evra without another transfer out - and worried about fielding 11 with Suarez out.

The transfers above would leave me with enough money to do either Holtby - Bale or Giroud - Suarez next week too.

I am on my WC and have made the following team. Assuming the GW29 games remain off I think it gives me a good balance and means I can play 11 each week. What do you think:

    Bunn, De Gea
    R. Martin, Cuellar, Harte, Baines, Debuchy
    Fellaini, Bale, Mata, Sissoko, Puncheon
    Aguero, RVP, Cisse

    1.1 in the bank.

Forget this whole "fielding 11" malarkey.

Weigh each transfer on it's merits.

Bertrant is likely to get 0 points. Is there anyone you can bring in who is likely to get 5 or more points than Bertant (ormore) over the next few games?

Demel is likely to get 1 point. Is there anyone you can bring in who is likely to get 6 more points than Demel (or more) over the next few games?

Giroud or Aguero for this GW

For just this GW, I'd say Giroud, but if I was transferring one in, I'd go Aguero.

Don't usually ask for opinions but this week I'm a little stuck.

Loaded up on dgwer's last week and had to take a 4-point hit to get 11 this week. However, Sagna's injury and Demel's likelihood of being dropped mean that I'll probably only field 11.

The thought of an 8-point hit sickens me but if I did Studge to an Arsenal striker(most likely Giroud) I'd field 10(maybe 11) and ve able to play 3-4-3.

Opinions on whether this might be worth it. If Giroud starts the most I could lose is -2. Or does anyone think Cisse might be an option?

I would go Cisse or Lambert over Giroud just because they will def play in 29. As for the hit im not so sure im kind of in the same situ and will probably leave it.

I have Lambert already and Cisse is playing so poorly I'm not really convinced. Giroud's stats are great(shots, shots in box, threat level etc) and he's in decent form. I'd be more interested in Benteke than Cisse, despite fixtures.

Hmmm interesting. I like Giroud stats but i think the potential blank eules him out for me

I personally think that Newcastle look resurgent and I have more faith in cisse than I do giroud. Just my opinion though.

    All set?

    Foster
    Cameron Debuchy Demel Clichy
    Punch Fellani Mata Taarabt
    VP (c) Aguero

    Bego Swans Swans Pool

That looks awful but i cant see a hit worth doing (cant afford Bale)

With pig not playing gw 29 and lambert looking good for the next few... would you guys take ANOTHER hit (on pig - lambo)?

    Bego
    Evra Zaba Evans Mariappa Demel
    Kebe Sissoko Michu Walcott
    RVP(c) Rooney
    Subs: 3.9, Michu, Suarez, Davies
