Mick McCarthy and Fernando Torres were the Gameweek 26 headline-makers as Wolves brought Man United’s unbeaten run to an end and the £50m ex-Liverpool forward made a miserable start to life at Stamford Bridge, thanks to Kenny Dalglish’s revitalised Merseysiders. Here’s our regular Members article, casting an eye over the weekend’s OPTA stand-outs, ahead of the upcoming double Gameweek…

So difficult! To difficult for a teacher-student from Norway. I need some help! What do you guys think of this wild-card team??

    Foster (Begovic)

Huth, Dawson, R. Johnson (Kolarov, Coleman)

    Fabregas, Etherington, Barton, Nani, Walcott

    Van Persie, Odemwingie (Saha)

    6,5 in bank.

Six players that don`t play gw. 28, but Begovic, Kolarov, Coleman and Saha covers 4 of them with easy matches, and planning to get in Tevez and United player for a hit aswell.

    Suggestions?

Barton on freekicks and penalties plus bonus magnet VS
Nolan which might play upfront and is a great finisher!

        Tough call!

I would get in tevez straight away, you need him and saves you a transfer, then i would get in Cahill instead of Saha as everton cover and go for Bent upfront instead. Ditching Fabs could get you a really nice bunch of midfielders aswell in the mid-upper price pracket, such as VdV, Cahill, Meireles or Young, alongside walcott and Nani. Maybe Brunt or Bentley then instead of Barton as the 5th midfielder.
Well, this is just my opinions, so take it for what you want and good luck whatever you do

On my wildcard.... trying to maximise the double gameweek without leaving myself short for GW28 is a pain.

VDV and Adam I expected to be big points earners but both have injury and suspension hanging over them.

Also going to have drop one of Nani or Tevez to the bench.

    Whats everyone doing with Charlie?

I dont know how long you have had Nani but if you have had him as long as me, he'll be expensive to pick back up again and MU play a double the following week, so I would hold on to him and let Tevez go for now instead.

Depends on what you think your closest rivals will do and whether you are chasing/leading. Personally i am going for fabregas because he is much more likely to play both games being captain and a lack of players to replace him

the fabregas captaincy love is based on history rahter than current form, the "he is due a haul soon syndrome" which ofcourse could go right one time or the other, but all logics and rational thinking points to RvP this gw imo

Probably Rooney - I think Utd will play 4-4-1-1, with Berba up top and Rooney helping out in midfield. Could be something like:

      Giggs - Anderson - Fletcher - Nani

with Giggs tucking in and Rooney dropping back towards left midfield.

Thanks, was swaying towards that, although don't expect much from either of them.

Definitely starting Vidic as 0-0 seems a distinct possibility.

I'm the last person you want to ask about Coleman, I keep dropping him when he scores, and playing him when he gets 1 point.

Even without a clean sheet, the 2 extra points they'll get for playing time should cover the difference on the 4pt hit and then you have the chance of a couple clean sheets and maybe a goal since Birm defenders are known for scoring. Downside is that they wont play GW28 but then GW29 should be worth it in the long run.

Assuming that Man U Chelsea is called off where do you see the points going GW28.
Obviously you can't predict that well but there seems to be a lot of 'better' teams away to 'worse' teams. Typically games which end up as scrappy draws or 0-1/1-2 type score lines. Given this I'm not sure how bothered I'll be about getting 11 players out and may accept getting a slightly lower score that week.
    What do people think?

After struggling with the wildcard all week i have decided many of the double week players are simply not worth the bother , especially midfielders. so have settled on the following

    Foster Bergovic
Simpson Huth R johnson (kolorov coleman)
    Fabregas Bentley young Brunt (Cahill)
    Odnewinge Van Persie Bent

With Tevez coming in next week to make up the 11 for gw 28
then saha in for 29 to give 6 doublers in that week

    thoughts?
