Our weekly look at the goings-on in the Sky Sports game is rolled out again this afternoon. As always, we cast an eye over the Scout League’s main protagonists, where the leader made significant ground in his quest for the overall crown last weekend. We also analyse the recent trends in the transfer market and check in with Fenners and Merse ahead of tonight’s fixture with the Fantasy Football Club.

The Scout League

With his top spot threatened last week,Chris Pearce turned in a storming performance to sprint away from the chasing pack. Chris’ side “UtakaDefoeKingPearce” was just 13 points clear at the summit prior to the weekend’s fixtures but is now 45 points ahead of Paul McAnulty in the race for the Scout League title. Paul’s “Housewives Favourite” is a further 31 points ahead of Chris Tuck’s third-placed “Vuvuzela Symphony”, while Simon Davis’ “Nags Head Rovers” and Pascal Evans’ pair of Covport teams are tucked in just behind.

Chris Pearce’s Gameweek not only helped establish a solid lead over the rest of the Scout League, it boosted his chances of finishing first in the overall standings. Although Chris remains third overall, he is now just 37 points behind Simon Ward at the summit in the race for the Sky Sports crown and £25,000 top prize – having approached last weekend some 85 points behind Ward, he’s clearly picking up momentum at the right time.

The Scout League now have seven managers in the overall top 20 rankings – as a result, we remain the top Private League on show, extending our lead from 10 to 15 points over our nearest rival.

A reminder that if you’re playing the Sky Sports game and have yet to join our league, you can still sign up to the FFScout League with this Pin: 8004519. We have a home cinema system, worth £600, available to the winner.

Market Trends

Five goals in his last four appearances has made Dimitar Berbatov the most sought-after player in the Sky Sports game this week. With a double Gameweek just around the corner, the 7.5 priced Fulham forward has been party to 5.12% of all transfers in ahead of Sunday’s trip to Newcastle – over the last five weeks, the Bulgarian has racked up 31 points, the third highest tally of any player.

Gareth Bale was second most popular prior to last night’s turn of events at White Hart Lane. The Welshman had been subject to 4.94% of all transfers made but, having been stretchered off against FC Basel with an ankle injury, is almost certainly out of this weekend’s home clash with Everton and has a blank Gameweek 33 to follow.

With a home game against West Ham on Sunday afternoon, Liverpool duo Luis Suarez and Steven Gerrard are amongst the top five transfer targets this week. Suarez has racked up more points (45) than any player in the last five Gameweeks and, while Gerrard is fifth for this respective statistic over the featured period, his 28 points is greater than any midfielder.

Robin Van Persie, on the other hand, has been the third most unpopular player ahead of the Manchester derby. Only the suspended Marouane Fellaini and injured Theo Walcott have been sold on by more managers, with the Dutchman part of 5.62% of all transfers out. While Van Persie’s recent goal drought is clearly an issue, his owners still had plenty faith as United rolled up to Sunderland last Saturday lunchtime – over 23% handed him the armband, with Suarez second most popular captaincy pick (9%) and Chelsea’s Eden Hazard (6%) further back in third.

The Fantasy Football Club – Tonight 10pm

Chris Coleman is the guest on tonight’s edition of the Fantasy Football Club. The Wales boss joins Fenners and Merse from 10pm on Sky Sports One, with a certain Tottenham winger’s ankle injury sure to be discussed.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Baines is always a good shout.
Bale out seems to be the order of the day, still doubtful about who to bring in personally. With Punch being so irregular i cant afford to bring in Fellaini who wont play this GW, but if you have a full starting 11 this week then do it.Sets you up nicely for GW33.
          (c) Suarez this week better do the biz. 😉

Yes it all works out with a full starting eleven plus two reserves (Wilson & O'Brien) so reckon I'll go for it and catch next weeks Fellaini price rises.

Suarez (c) with yellow for celebrating hatrick with shirt off, is what we want......

If you kill a process called plugin container does it start to work again? I would say make sure your Chrome is up to date and if its still a problem i'd bet its one of the other plugins you've installed causing the problem. You'd have to disable them all and enable one by one

I think Bale's injury is bad news for those on top of their mini-leagues as most seemed to have him so it didn't make any difference unless someone had captained him. With him out, there's serious potential to add a player that can make a difference...bad news for myself 🙁

Ok Supersonic, if your 'sources' are telling you Enrique is injured, what kind of injury is it?

going to take a one week punt before my wildcard next week. Thinking a chelsea man. Who's the most likely to play/score against sunderland?

    Mata
    Hazard
    Lampard

(selling Bale so funds not an issue)

Think Hazard & Lampard will definitely start, not sure on Mata.

All 3 could score, Hazard has the best form so p'raps he'll bag a few.

Considering I've got Santi already and don't trust Mata with the rotation policy, you guys think Gerrard or Silva are best to replace Bale?

Gerrard for me. Better fixtures, Gerrards home form and as pointed out on previous pages he offers contingency cover for Suarez owners if/when he gets his 10th yellow. Not forgeting also that he is on pens 🙂

How about this for a question...

If you select a transfer to make, get the the confirmation page, then leave it open overnight and the value of one of the players involved changes; what happens? Does the transfer go through with the original values?

nope dont think so.... tried this once when Ba switched to chelsea and i was thinking about getting 4 chelsea players in for their dgw...... i left it too long and when i pressed confirm, i wasnt allowed to do the swap, so clearly some current checking is done
