Last Monday’s Manchester derby afforded Sergio Aguero the perfect platform to serve Fantasy managers a reminder of his capabilities. Emerging from the bench late on, the Argentine weaved his way through the hosts’ backline before thrashing the ball past David De Gea as United’s stuttering bid for the title continued:

Having helped clinch the league with virtually the last kick of the previous season, Aguero was firmly in many a manager’s plans heading into the 2012/13 campaign. A knee problem sustained on the opening day at home to Southampton saw almost 500,000 jump off the bandwagon by the time September arrived and while Aguero returned to the first-team fold by Gameweek 5, he’s yet to find the consistency that harvested 23 goals, nine assists and 30 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) bonus points in a devastating debut campaign.

Granted, Aguero has failed to mirror his own high standards thus far but has, nevertheless, delivered 10 goals and three assists from just 18 starts and, as he edges back towards full fitness following a recent knee problem, is clearly in the mood to deliver again. While United remain in pole position to wrestle the title back from Roberto Mancini’s side, the remaining fixtures hand City the chance to rack up the points and at the very least cement second spot behind their rivals.

After a FA Cup semi-final with Chelsea this weekend, City entertain Wigan at the Etihad next Wednesday, while West Ham, Norwich and West Brom have all still to pay visit – the Baggies clash is yet to be rescheduled, meaning City still have a double Gameweek to follow. Bearing in mind they also have trips to Swansea and Reading, it’s a fair assumption that Fantasy managers will be eyeing up City’s main assets with some anticipation.

Now down to 10.9 in FPL (9.9 in the Sky Sports game), Aguero has less than 5% ownership in FPL at present and, similar to David Silva, approaches the last few fixtures as a real differential. Providing he’s 100% fit, the Argentine is surely set to start every match from here on in as Mancini attempts to save face in what has been a disappointing defence of the title. Ironically, if United sew up the title soon, owners of Robin Van Persie and Wayne Rooney may choose to freshen up their front three if Sir Alex Ferguson decides to rotate up top – a move to Aguero seems a strong tactic for the remaining matches, then, as the City forward looks to finish the season with a flourish once again.

I'd rather have no Rooney than no RvP I think since main rival has RvP, I can't risk him finding form and not having him for a DGW. I could ship Rooney and that would allow for Benteke. No one in my ML has Theo, no one is likely to be able to get him in either. Can I afford to go without him?

Me? I am a Man Utd first, but having grown up in the North West I was educated in Bury for a number of years, so used to take in quite a few Shakers matches. Developed a soft for them (they are my 2nd team) but don't get to go as much as used to. Really sad to see what seems to be becoming of them 🙁

    Harte, Cameron, Zabaleta, Evans (Davies)
    Mata, Cazorla, Sissoko (Michu, Bale)
    Suarez, Remy, Lambert

I've got 2 free transfers. My proposed moves are:
    Remy to Berbatov
    Bale to Fellaini

I'd like to get in another DGW player, preferably a defender. Any suggestions? I'd have 1.6 left in the bank.

Thanks. Yeah I did Michu & Azpilicueta out for Sagna & Walcott. At the time, I kinda thought it wan't a great move, but I enjoy loading up for the DGWs!

On a WC this week. Thoughts on the below team?

    DDG
    RAFAEL, BAINES, SAGNA,
    Maloney, FELLAINI, Sissoko, CAZORLA (C)
    Benteke, RVP, BERBAMATOV

    3.9, DEMEL, Clyne, Michu

    0.9 in the bank.

Play Demel or Maloney this week?
Any other changes you would suggest?

Upgrade your keeper to Robles (£4.0m).

Moyes saying "a few niggles" makes me worry about Mirallas... is he just too injury prone to take the risk?

Haha probably true... but aside from this, it's made me think about whether Mirallas will start 2 matches in a short space of time.

Must say Paul presents a very good case for Kun in the article. A Suarez yellow this gw would make the switch to Kun very easy 🙂

This DGW is proving to be a curse

If I have RvP, Rooney and Baines I can't have Walcott
If I take Theo I have to lose either a player with the potential to explode (RvP, Baines) who my rival has or a key differential (Rooney)

    🙁 🙁

      Why would you want walcott?

Explosive potential, but with no one in my ML having him, the potential loss is 0 ML wise (which is what I care most about) Rival has RvP and Baines who if they explode could half my lead in one fell swoop, so I think that needs to be cut off. Rooney is also explosive. Double United attack could be a risk, but we have to start scoring again soon.

Is Wilshere a better option than Pienaar?

If you're miles back go for the differential Rooney. If not play it safe and spread the risk. Imho 🙂

Final gw transfer decision. Your oppinion please:

    Current midfield:
    Fellaini - Cazorla - Sissoko - Snodgrass - Bale

    A) Bale -> Walcott (-8)
    B) Snodgrass -> Rosicky (-8)
    C) Play existing 4, bench Bale (-4)

    Thnx!

"90% fit". starts training tomorrow. could play/start both, could be benched in one easily too. my guess would be between 90-120 minutes
