Last Monday’s Manchester derby afforded Sergio Aguero the perfect platform to serve Fantasy managers a reminder of his capabilities. Emerging from the bench late on, the Argentine weaved his way through the hosts’ backline before thrashing the ball past David De Gea as United’s stuttering bid for the title continued:

Having helped clinch the league with virtually the last kick of the previous season, Aguero was firmly in many a manager’s plans heading into the 2012/13 campaign. A knee problem sustained on the opening day at home to Southampton saw almost 500,000 jump off the bandwagon by the time September arrived and while Aguero returned to the first-team fold by Gameweek 5, he’s yet to find the consistency that harvested 23 goals, nine assists and 30 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) bonus points in a devastating debut campaign.

Granted, Aguero has failed to mirror his own high standards thus far but has, nevertheless, delivered 10 goals and three assists from just 18 starts and, as he edges back towards full fitness following a recent knee problem, is clearly in the mood to deliver again. While United remain in pole position to wrestle the title back from Roberto Mancini’s side, the remaining fixtures hand City the chance to rack up the points and at the very least cement second spot behind their rivals.

After a FA Cup semi-final with Chelsea this weekend, City entertain Wigan at the Etihad next Wednesday, while West Ham, Norwich and West Brom have all still to pay visit – the Baggies clash is yet to be rescheduled, meaning City still have a double Gameweek to follow. Bearing in mind they also have trips to Swansea and Reading, it’s a fair assumption that Fantasy managers will be eyeing up City’s main assets with some anticipation.

Now down to 10.9 in FPL (9.9 in the Sky Sports game), Aguero has less than 5% ownership in FPL at present and, similar to David Silva, approaches the last few fixtures as a real differential. Providing he’s 100% fit, the Argentine is surely set to start every match from here on in as Mancini attempts to save face in what has been a disappointing defence of the title. Ironically, if United sew up the title soon, owners of Robin Van Persie and Wayne Rooney may choose to freshen up their front three if Sir Alex Ferguson decides to rotate up top – a move to Aguero seems a strong tactic for the remaining matches, then, as the City forward looks to finish the season with a flourish once again.

Fellaini's always a tempter as an Everton fan, but Cazorla has been excellent at home recently. Cazorla, Fellaini, Walcott, RVP, Rooney - plenty to choose from! Will be very interesting; in a week of potentially huge scores, captaincy choices could make all the difference.

If Cazorla fails and Fellaini succeeds, then my FPL disappointment will be eased by my Evertonian joy!

Begovic > DDG makes sense right? Likely United will score against Stoke and then he only needs a few save points even of he doesn't keep a clean sheet and it's break even... with opportunity to make a few more if they do keep a team out?

Why would he be dropped? It has been established that the 10 games for a medal rule does not apply to Lindegaard. I'd be more worried by Chesney as a Fabianski owner than i would be about Lindegaard as a DDG owner.

It's a special dispensation rule. It has only been used 4 times to get a medal for reserve keepers, but 3 out of the 4 were Fergie using it to get Kuzscak a medal as he didn't play enough times ahead of VDS. You obviously can't do this for every player, it;s generally used for players who got injured early or came back late, but keeper's rarely change barring injury so they make this exception

As much as I love RvP, IMO his signing was the worst thing that could have happened to Kagawa. Kagawa's best role is the role you have Rooney playing there. I believe the plan was to start Rooney up top with Kagawa in behind. But when Fergie found it he could get RvP he had to act and this disrupted said plans. The injuries plus this lack of being used in his favoured position are mainly responsible for Kagawa's poor season. The one game he was used in his best role was Norwich at home.

Agreed, but he's had plenty of chances to play him in the hole but he doesn't seem to fancy him. He would rather bring Welbeck or Hernandez in.

It's clear where Hernandez is best used. Welbeck is an interesting one. When on form such as v Madrid away, he can be an awesome weapon. But too often he seems to run with his head down and either end up in a blind alley or lose the ball. I hope that this is merely inexperience as from what I've see he has the tools to be a top player. The thing I noticed most against City was something I've commented on before. He lacks the tactical discipline to be used in a wide role. He comes inside far too much, and not just a little inside, like centrally inside, and too often this left Rafa or Evra far too exposed.

When, or more correctly IF, he begins do to make the right choices, and also calms down in front of goal, he'd be a very, very good player.
I remember Fletcher suffering a fair amount of abuse before people eventually acknowledged him as a good player. I hope Welbeck is getting that as well.

I really don't like him. He doesn't seem to have a position. He works hard for the team, produces a few decent moments of skill but ultimately, offers nothing. He's played a fair bit this season and has only managed 2 goals. Shocking.

Today was his first "normal" training session since recovering. He'll be benched vs Norwich imo - they have enough options on the wing... Gerv, Santi, AOC...

Won away from home without him last week, Gervs returns in last 3 games are excellent. Certainly capable of doing damage v Norwich. Were they to start with Wally on the bench, get a few ahead in the game, why would they even risk him. Everton is the tougher game.

    Bunn, Dawson, Davies, Michu,

With my friends league so tight I feel almost as if 5 DGWs isn't enough, particularly given that one has saved his WC for this week. Any glaring changes worth a 4pt hit?

Very borderline. Even if Wilson plays, he may get a 0 against MUN. I see Demel getting at least 4 participation points from the 2 matches. Stoke's fixtures are better than WHU after this DGW, though.

but Stoke are in terrible form. West Ham have a few more CS points to come at home for sure. I would do it probably, but only because the dgw makes it less of a risk and makes an exception of the no hits for defenders rule

But 3-4 pts are highly likely, if avoiding a hammering. Makes a free bet on poss CS or assist/goal upside. I say it's worth it.

It's our midfield that is the problem

        Valencia, Cleverley, Carrick and Young/Nani

        v

        Beckham, Scholes, Keane, Giggs

        v

        CR7, Scholes, Hargreaves, Giggs

Kagawa is the best midfielder we have, but he never gets used properly
