This evening, we roll out the draw for the inaugural Fantasy Football Scout Shield. This pits the quarter finalists of the FFS Members Cup against the last eight of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup which took place earlier this season, with the final taking place in Gameweek 38. The Shield follows the same knockout format, with £100 Amazon voucher for the winner and £50 Amazon voucher for the runner-up.

Scout cup winner Wild Rover is up against former world number one Iyad Zahlan in one of the plum ties of the opening round –Iyad’s side “Giavarra555” is the highest ranked amongst the 16, sitting in 42nd spot in the overall rankings.

Members cup runner-up Eunuch Jelly (680th overall) is up against the rank outsider Stevey Trader, whose side currently stands around the 335,000 mark. Mr KK, who finished third in the Scout Cup, squares up to 12 inch of fury, who ended up third in the Members cup last weekend.

After finishing as runner-up to Wild Rover in the Scout Cup, Mile High will be hoping to go one further – sitting in 76th spot overall, he’s up against cuihe_508, while Fuzzy Dunlop (2K) is the favourite against Heart of the City (21K).

New Members cup holder Acquafresca now pits his wits against Maddocio, who was forced into fourth in the same competition on overall rank alone. Site regular Rickie Smokes lets go will face ange1range1 for a place in the last eight – ranked at 10K and 12K respectively, their match-up looks an even battle.

Finally, Tommy Tynan’s Left Shin Pad goes head-to-head with JMS; the latter’s had a solid season and dropped out of the top 1,000 for the first time since Gameweek 10 last weekend – he’ll be looking to make amends with a green arrow.

    The worse thing about the whole Suarez thing is the reaction of the club and, in particular, Rodgers. Given the context, to say that half of the ban should have been suspended to 'provide a carrot' to the player not to re-offend is the stupidest thing imaginable. I would've thought that his previous ban for the EXACT same offence would have been carrot enough not to do it but apparently not. How many chances does one player know before you have to accept that he's just a moron (albeit an immensely talented moron). Only in the completely self-deluded bubble that is Liverpool FC at the moment can nonsense like that spouted by Rodgers (and Kenny and Rafa before him) be considered logical.

    @JWF

    Pretty sure this has been discussed to death but easy to knock Liverpool for the way they've handled it but do you really think other clubs would have handled it much differently? Suarez is a flawed human being but he's liverpools best player and Liverpool want him to play as many games as possible. They have lost sight of moral obligations undoubtedly but it's a commercial enterprise and they are in a competitive industry.

      Don't get me wrong, I have absolutely no problem whatsoever with a club defending their players and understand that sometimes clubs are backed into very difficult corners but Liverpool seem to be making a habit of being overly aggressive in their approach. I'm not one of the people who think that Suarez should be sacked (which is complete nonsense) but I just think that there are times when the club could show a little more humility and accept that they are in the wrong rather than bleating on about being treated unfairly (which from a PR/Commercial perspective is often a very successful way of getting through difficult situations).

    I have no Man City or Wigan coverage & they're the only DGW teams I want. The problem is predicting Man City's defence. So, let me know what you think of these ideas:

    a) Clichy & Maloney for Wilson & Fellaini (4pt hit)
    b) Hart for De Gea
    c) Silva for Hazard
    d) Cuellar for Wilson

      I wouldn't get Silva for Hazard. Hart is the safest bet for City defense. I don't think I'm gonna transfer DDG out though because Arsenal are so inconsistent. West Ham has been scoring too.

        City attacking coverage is tricky too. I'd be tempted to go Aguero for Van Persie but not when RvP returns to Arsenal. Their midfielders aren't performing but those fixtures are too good to ignore.

        😉 I was thinking about this actually, and I do agree, so maybe my post is invalid. I wonder how they decided hits would be 4 points.

        Nah..oldest swinger in town...It was hard work tonight Ron. It wasn't my team I was training with, I was playing in a two hour training match for my sons 13/14 year old team(the manager likes to involve the parents playing)..They're bloody quick. I played as an old fashioned sweeper for the night.
