With a healthy bundle of cash now in sight, the Scout League leader agonisingly slips a few more points behind but, with four Gameweeks to go, the glittering prize is still within his grasp. We cast an eye over the Scout league standings and check on the market trends in the Sky Sports game, whilst sneaking our way into the Fantasy Football club dressing room ahead of tonight’s episode.

The Scout League

While Chris Pearce continues to dominate the Scout League table, our leader lost ground in the battle for overall prize. Robin Van Persie’s devastating hat-trick had little impact on the top of the rankings as Chris’ “UtakaDefoeKingPearce” lineup slipped to 22 points behind Simon Ward in the race for the £25k. Presumably, there were Van Persie armbands all round, then and, with just a handful of Gameweeks remaining, it’s starting to get tense as Chris gives chase.

Back in the Scout League, Paul McAnulty and his “Housewives Favourite” squad remain in second, some 52 behind on 2060 points, while Pascal Evans’ “Covport” remain in third spot on 2045. Neil Fleeson’s “Roumeli Rangers” climbs into fourth, jumping above Chris Tuck’s “Vuvuzela Symphony” and Pascal’s second “Covport” squad.

Those six are all placed in the top 20 overall rankings, helping the Scout League maintain top spot in the Private League rankings. We’re now 31 points ahead of the nearest rival.

It’s not to late to join Sky Sports game join our ranks: you can still sign up to the FFScout League with this Pin: 8004519.

Market Trends

Gareth Bale’s return to fitness and, almost inevitably, the scoresheet, has seen him established as the hot property this week. Bale gathered 15 points from Sunday’s victory over City and has been transferred back into squads as part of over 10% of the deals done – almost double that of the next most popular player, Robin Van Persie. The Dutchman rocketed to the top of the form charts with Monday night’s hat-trick – he’s now returned 42 points in the last four Gameweeks.

With Carlos Tevez, Wayne Rooney and Christian Benteke ranked next in the popularity stakes, it’s obvious that Sky Sports managers have been focusing on their forward lines.

That’s clearly due to Luis Suarez’s suspension. The Uruguayan has been sold as part of 24% of the trades made off the back of his 10-match ban. Santi Cazorla is next, cast aside as part of 7% of transfers made over the past seven days – clearly his recent run of scant returns has taken its toll, despite the fact that the Spaniard remains the top value player in the game. Cazorla has returned almost 35 points per million this season for his 6.7 price tag. Bale has been the popular replacement in midfield, although Michu has also earned a host of new owners ahead of his double Gameweek, while both Marouane Fellaini and Juan Mata have also seen ownership increase this week.

The Fantasy Football Club – Tonight 10pm

The much-maligned Emile Heskey will be bustling his way into the Fantasy Football Club starting lineup this evening. Now plying his trade with Aussie side Newcastle Jets, Heskey will be watched over by Fenners and Merse as he picks his #One2Eleven. Join the guys tonight at 10pm on Sky Sports one or, if you miss out, catch up at 9am tomorrow on Sky Sports two.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

SAF has rested Rooney a number of times away to Everton. He might well bench RvP just to take away the sideshow, and let his team focus on winning the game.

I don't see it. He's hardly looked in need of a rest in recent games & with no international tournament this summer he has a full rest period then. Plus SAF is such an egomaniac he'd love to win the league by some 15-20pts & put everyone else in their place.
But then I have RVP in my team...

Van Persie went to Utd to win titles and did it in his first season. No one deserves the guard of honour more than him. I can't seem him being rested anyway personally

    My team for GW35:

    De Gea
    Dawson – Clyne – Baines
    Bale – Mata – Toure – Maloney
    Tevez – RvP – Berbatov

    Robles — Michu – Sagna – Demel

That means 8 DGW before tranfers. Going for 1 or 2 transfers more before GW36, but who?

Given I have Tevez and Maloney (and Bale) there really is no DGW striker worth a hit for Berba is there? Especially with Steve Clarke's comments about needing to plan for life without Lukaku. May as well just keep him for the next 2 then sell for Benteke

Next three is new, EVE, ful. Not great imo, Fulham are solid at home, Newcastle need points and have an ok home record and the derby game is tough to call.

No Suarez will work against him in terms of service, creativity. I expect them to struggle without him.

Neither of those 3 teams are known for defensive abilities. And look at Ba- you get a great game vs SWA this week, than mun and will likely miss out during the TOT game. Dont you agree?

Right, squad for the week, shall we say: "acquired"? No... assembled. Just need captains finalised and then I can go and drink until I can't remember the massive hit I just took:

    ROBLES
    LUIZ KOLAROV Monreal (Clyne, Harte)
    Fellaini MICHU MATA Cazorla
    TEVEZ BA(c) AGUERO(vc)

Next week: Fellaini, Monreal >> Maloney, Verty

    Any creative captaincy suggestions/VC strategies?

WC almost complete, just one last spot I can't decide. Who's the best bet:

    A) Zabaleta (Should start most games but will prob be benched for one over the DGW. City could well keep CS's in all their remaining fixtures)

    B) Kolorov (I can only see 2 starts max but he's got the potential to score a mega score. Could be a useful differential as I'm chasing a 40pt lead)

    C) Boyce (Guaranteed starts and playing OOP(?))

    Cheers.

yeah, I guess I might sign up next year. It's a pity there isn't better prizes in FPL. But this is run by Sky so they have the money. I hadn't heard about the sky game before the start of this season hence my apathy towards it!

Would you get Ba when you have both Mata and Hazard?
Or spread the risk and get Kone instead?

Also, Sturridge or even Defoe/Lukaku is in my mind too but I just can't decide.
Defoe and Lukaku -- worried about their gametime.
      Sturridge -- no DGW fixtures

    10 points behind mini-league leader
    Have Fab and Bunn.

Do you think it's worth doing Fab ➡ Hart for -4?

    Thanks 🙂

No, play Bunn and invest the cash elsewhere.

Still undecided on who to drop Suarez for -

    1). Ba
    2). Defoe
    3). Sturridge.

Chelsea have 2 tough games upcoming out of the next 3. Spurs have the better games but Defoe isnt a nailed-on starter. Sturridge has one less game to play than the other 2 options. Any advice?

go for Ba man, you might as well! It looks like Chelsea will have 2 more Europa games and he's not playing in them.

I'm guessing no more than 100k play the Phones4U game, and yet there is 10k on offer. Has anyone tried this, is it any good?
