Everton’s penalty shoot-out victory over Chelsea this afternoon -more on this game and other fixtures to come in the Cup Notes to follow- means they have duly qualified for the fifth round of the FA Cup. Congratulations to them.

More importantly for Fantasy Managers, this now means that the previously reported fixture upheaval has been avoided. With Chelsea now out of the FA Cup, their (already once postponed) fixture at home to Manchester United will stay in place and be played out on the evening of Tuesday March 1. United now keep their double fixture in gameweek 28 as a result, with an away trip to Wigan next weekend, followed by the Stamford Bridge clash days later.

Most will have probably predicted, planned and expected Chelsea to come out their fourth round replay as victors and see this double gameweek nullified; Fantasy Managers now need to prepare for United’s double, while Chelsea are back in the gameweek hat having dodged involvement in the dreaded “blank gameweek”.

Everton’s progress to the fifth round has no impact on their fixtures right now. They will play out their fifth round tie with Reading on March 1 – this will not disrupt their double fixture in gameweek 29 (new&BIR).

Even thou I have 14 playing in GW28 I am still considering a hit..

    Fabs > Cahill (?)
    Odem > Tevez

TBH I don't really know what to do...

If you have got 14 playing for the next gw then that's a few points gained before a ball is kicked. I can see a few people having to take a hit (possibly a double one for me if Etherington's injury turns out to be serious).

Everton look short of goals and I would hold off on Cahill until gw29 at least. Tevez in is a no-brainer and even though Rooney has a dgw I rather fancy Tevez to outscore Rooney over the gw. Fabs out seems popular so holding onto him this week could be a decent differential.

Not a differential if he doesn't play...

Wenger should have learnt his lesson on playing understrength teams, with particular reference to the Wigan game. Nasri, Walcott, RVP are proving just as influential if not more.

I am concerned Cahill won't get the returns many are expecting. Far from being short of match fitness which some have said, he looks like he's played far too many games. He's as hard as they come, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him pick up an injury. Baines may be the best bet for Everton attacking returns, as illogical as that may sound.

Or Coleman - cleansheets look so improbable for the Toffees at present that Baines may not offer much value-for-money.

And yet they kept one yesterday, during the 90 minutes at least. But I take your point, Coleman probably offers better value.

And yet with the games they have coming up, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Everton keep their fair share of clean sheets.

I have the following people not playing next week:

    Foster
    Carr
    VDV
    Djourou
    Fabs
    RVP
    Adam(?)

So that means I will be 2 short for the week (or 3 if Adam gets booked). I have 2 free transfers and don't want to sell anyone who I may lose big on. Which option?

    A. Fabs to Cahill / Carr to Vidic (wig/che,liv)
    B. Fabs to Cahill / Carr to Huth (WBA,whm,NEW)
    C. Odemwinge to Berbs
    D. Fabs to Cahill
    E. Something else (please state)

Thanks. A Young hasn't been on my radar so I will check him out. Only problem is that I lose a lot of money on VDV but I will wait till he has played to decide.

    Got lost on last page...

Is this worth a 4 point hit given I can only field 11 at present?

    Stockdale & Fabs -> VDS & Cahill

It will give me the potential to field 11 with an extra doubler in GW28 and also an extra doubler in GW29. Trying to avoid hits, but this one actually doesn't seem so bad on the face of it? Thoughts?

Hate to disagree with the guy who is 41 in the world, but how can it not be worth it? There is no chance you won't get the points back.

+ You don't have to use a transfer to get Cahill in for dgw.

I hate this game. I started off the season not caring and now have a really low rank even though I've had 12 straight green arrows.
