Hull City boss Steve Bruce added to his forward options late last week by acquiring Danny Graham on a season-long loan deal from Sunderland. The former Swansea man is the club’s seventh signing of the summer and follows the likes of Allan McGregor, Curtis Davies, Maynor Figueroa and Ahmed Elmohamady to the KC Stadium as The Tigers prepare for life back in the Premier League.

Having fallen out of favour under Paolo Di Canio after just six months at Sunderland, Graham’s security of game time looks set for a significant increase in the season ahead. Judging by his new manager’s comments, it’s clear that Bruce – who has an option to make the deal permanent at the end of 2013/14 – is a huge fan of the 27-year-old:

I think Anelka scored at his last club

I'd downgrade a defender and fix your keeper situation. Getting a player for just GW1 with no doubles seems a bit risky, more often than not you'll need the one FT to fix a different situation/jump on a bandwagon.

What if someone else gets injured, or some dont start?
Hazard then causes early -4. Get 11 you like for weeks 1-6 at least.
Too much on defence, but too little on keepers as you might have no keeper.

Why what? If you mean why am I mad, it's because I don't have fast enough line speed to get the stream without buffering, plus I have a brilliant deal with Sky so not cost effective to change

You can get the bt channels using the satellite channels - if you have bt broadband and don't think the speed is good enough just give bt your sky card number and they will deliver it to your sky box - if you are happy with that you can then just drop sky sports to make a saving - if you don't have bt broadband then you would have to pay to have it delivered to your sky box

Is that so, interesting. My immediate reaction is at least they'll be showing games all season. ESPN and Setanta before it had a knack of showing games at the start of the season and then completely giving up by the new year for long spells once they had everyone's money.

If you are going to spend 5 on a goalie you have better options in krul, vorm, stekelenburg and foster. Also you already have turner so no point in doubling up on norwich defense. you are already doubling on SOT so doubling on two defenses in a big no-no.

Dont think alcaraz is nailed on.

      Dont know much about koren.

Don't fancy their away game to Southampton, and 3 of their first 4 home games are against Arsenal, Liverpool and United.

Combined with the other arguments mentioned here that made me turn away from Sunderland for now.

QUality player, bit inconsistent, Di Canio should give him a good kick in the arse. Sessegnon might be a better option, seems more likely to work hard on his game. McClean is the forgotten man of that team, hence his price, unlikely to get into that 11 unless he starts getting his act together.

McClean, I'm afraid is a one trick pony.
He runs straight and crosses it in, I'm pretty sure he's one of the easiest Premier League wingers to mark for a good defender. I just don't think he has the technique to be a top player

I'm not saying he's a top player, just one of the better 5.5m options. Just had a kid, hopefully will settle down. He has loads to imrove on. A big jump from LOI to PL, I think the hype here when he moved to Sunderland melted his head a bit. Regardless of FF I'd prefer to see him in an Ireland jersey ahead of Mcgeady or Cox or, worse again, a more defensive midfeielder.

can't realisticly see him playing OOP ahead of pilkington for example but may be a worthwhile lb at 4.5

Is Pilkington left footed or even that good? The other bloke who played LB last season was really a CB playing out there wasn't he? Take the point about rotation tho. But perhaps he's more likely to play at home and particularly against bottom half sides?

Pilkington can use both feet, generally cuts in on his right. Yes he is that good.
Garrido is a natural LB so maybe you're thinking of a different side there

Hmm perhaps your right, Hughton probably wouldn't have re-signed him after a loan playing 34 out of 38 matches just to bench him

Think Olsson is more likely to play away in rotation than at home.

Pilkington was stifled away from home by the system. Stats show he has a lot more shots on goal, crosses and just about everything else at home and he's allowed to attack first, defend second.

pilk is very 2 footed, hard to say if he's good as it depends what counts as good, but he's decent for where norwich are (/have been) and who they are.
was garrido lb, martin was the main rb who is arguably more of a cb. whittaker i'm not sure baout his past, he's a big fella but i think he's always been a full back.

seems to be living off his name a bit, should benefit from a 38 game season (rather than 46 in the championship, much more tuesday night games etc) but i'd be very wary that his goal and assist threat was pretty uninspiring in a lower league. seems a deeper hard-worker now without the chance to get on the end of things himself

Benteke was Sturridge until his availability for GW1 was called into question.

JRod was in the mix but I went for Lakaku as a little gamble.

Mert was a hero for me last season but ARS at the back don't push my buttons yet.

True and that has been the optimum tactic in the last couple of seasons, Just seems that there is value to be had (Arsenal defence, Mignolet, Coleman if OOP) in not going for the mega budget GK/Def.

What do you all think is the best time for a punt?

Surely it has to be from the off because, as it is, you don't know who is going to do well. There is no form for us to base our judgement on. I know there is pre-season form to go by, but look at where it has lead us to in previous years, Graham, Boselli and the likes!

Till the Michu's & Fellaini's of this season emerge, surely its best to go all out with your gut feeling. If it all goes wrong, there is nothing that 2 or 3 transfers can't fix.

Gw1-3 then wc in the international break if it goes wrong!

Always ignore your GW1 rank as everyone is so close that it can look terrible even if you are only 10 points behind!

I have never wildcarded early so don't know much about it. But you could easily remove some failed punts by 2 or 3 transfers, thus saving the wildcard for a more apt time.

this probably wont be a popular view but i think punts on CBs like kolo toure carry some more weight as at least a CB should play 90mins or 0mins (so you get an autosub)

what are thoughts on some of the more well known cheap players at bigger clubs - mikel, parker, lucas leiva, tiote all on 4.5m, anderson, allen, javi garcia, ireland, gibson on 5m.

new season, some new managers, back in form and back on the team sheet?

some good value risers perhaps? bandwagons have to start somewhere.

Right, this Man City forward (and manager) merry-go-round is turning into a nightmare.

I think a City forward is crucial for the opening run of fixtures but who?

Money no object, name your top 4* in priority order....

*im guessing Kun be no1 with most bods !

Dzeko and Negredo will fight for the striker spot and if one of them nails it down, I personally believe they will have a very fruitfull campaign with the sort of service City has at the moment.

In spite of the popular view that Negredo will be starting, I'm not yet convinced. Dzeko is a seasoned striker in the FPL, he's done well in spite of limited oportunities and I fear he will make our guesses further more complicated.

Jovetic will basically be City's Walcott on the left, same price, but classified as a forward, which really seems like a waste to me.

If Aguero (a very unselfish player) is played behind Dzeko/Negredo, the position in which he's done best in before, I think he'll be key for City this year, although I still think the striker will still be the best buy in that case (9.5 / 7.5 so considerably cheaper and likely to score a lot of goals)

This however is just my point of view and I think the pre-season friendlies will shed a lot of light on this situation.

P.S. A word of warning for all the Silva enthusiasts at the moment though, if it turns out I'm not mistaken, this means Silva and Navas will probably fight for starts on the right wing, where Silva hasn't exactly excelled last time round. If he doesn't get to play in a central position, I don't expect anything great for him.
