Hull City boss Steve Bruce added to his forward options late last week by acquiring Danny Graham on a season-long loan deal from Sunderland. The former Swansea man is the club’s seventh signing of the summer and follows the likes of Allan McGregor, Curtis Davies, Maynor Figueroa and Ahmed Elmohamady to the KC Stadium as The Tigers prepare for life back in the Premier League.

Having fallen out of favour under Paolo Di Canio after just six months at Sunderland, Graham’s security of game time looks set for a significant increase in the season ahead. Judging by his new manager’s comments, it’s clear that Bruce – who has an option to make the deal permanent at the end of 2013/14 – is a huge fan of the 27-year-old:

    Here is my first attempt at an RVP/Bale combination. I had initially intended on going without RVP but I also planned this last season before caving straight away which may just happen again.

    Not thrilled with it but could be essential to have the two big hitters. Easier to downgrade than to upgrade and all that.

        I'd agree with something like this. Playing two of Koren/Thomas/Anelka every week is not very appetizing. And you're really counting on JRod, who could do really well, but he is priced at 6 million for a reason, he's relatively unproven and fighting for playing time in a midtable side.

    Seems to me FPL made a considered effort to make sure there's a decision to be made in goals again. As we know there's only been one logical tactic for years now. Rotating cheapies. When I started playing reina, cech, VDS were bankers andthose that played the rotation game to save some pennies generally worse off and very frustrated.
    Just wanted to point out that getting the pricing right is the key to avoiding template quirks. Not rule changes like FFS was calling for after last years midfield fiasco.
    How much are you spending in goals? I wasn't happy with any of the 4.5/4.5 combos. Was sold on Ruddy/boruc, then we wrestled with the pros and of mig/4.0 instead. Then it clicked Boruc/4.0 for me

        Far from it. Bear in mind this is a tactic for a matter of weeks, couple months tops. Think about the recent scoring trends for keepers compared to other positions. The budget is at its tightest and if you're smart about it 1.0 in attack can get ya a lot more points than in goals

    Just a quick note on Cardiff in their current state..

    Avoid our defence for now. Tough fixtures and without Barnett I don't fancy our centre back partnership.
    Bellamy isn't the player you remember from previous prem seasons. More of a worker than a scorer. For midfield value look to Kim or gunnarsson when fit. If noone can prove himself up to the job he may be a dark horse but not guaranteed starts as yet.
    Cornelius is a great buy for us but will be the catalyst for Campbell to score the points when he is fit. If Maynard plays he'll most likely be shoved out wide. Could be profitable out on the wing but unproven and not worth the risk.

      Your knowledge of Cardiff's obviously superior to mine, Cornelius is an out and out striker, and a good one for what it's worth (strong, experience in big games in Europa League). As you said, he's a great buy and he'll probably be your main source of goals this season. Exciting prospect.

    Any thoughts on Yanga-Mbiwa (had to copy & paste that)? Pardew seemed to be talking him up here http://www.shieldsgazette.com/sport/football/newcastle-united/yanga-mbiwa-set-to-lead-newcastle-this-season-1-5865385 but I haven't seen him in too many RMTs.     Don't laugh but Lampard might be a sneaky cheap option to start. As I recall, Mourinho absolutely loved Lampard and he may give him a chance to lead the midfield again. Lamps may be rejuvenated for a season under the special one. Should still have pk and some spot kicks/corner kicks in his locker as well.

      I'm having the same dilenma with him and Kolo, if either of them play than the fixtures are very tempting... for me Kolo seems a safer choice until another defender comes into the mix for Liverpool.

      Not entirely sure on the success on this one if I'm honest (but what do I know?)

      City are on the attack so Hart and Zab may not do as well as you like.
      Diakite and Sunderlands fixtures are dire/
      De Bruyne may not even start, and Fellaini is likely to drop back to a deeper role instead of playing in 'the hole' (Moyes has left, and even Fellaini himself admitted that he thinks he is better as a defensive mid)
      Lukaku may not start again, and defoe may be ousted as a first choice striker. Food for thought.

        My whole tactic has been pairings in defence and midfield, so that if one player does well, both will do well. (A very big gamble).

      not sure benteke is worth that price at villa. i'd prefer sturridge + silva/walcott over coutinho + benteke if possible. may need to make some other changes as well

      lack of chelsea and man city players could be a bit concerning too

      Get rid of baker, jedinak and benteke

      Id replace with clyne, berbs/lamlert/sturridge and whatever mid u can afford

      Thomas is best 4.5 at the mo, koran at 5 mil also somone to look at.
      Id work snodrass into that team@ 6.5 he great value
